Tomorrow CPD going to TX to take custody. Safe travels there and back! I am praying this man is the answer, that the proof is there to link him for sure. Then focus can be on searching for Hannah.

Hope they're flying and not driving

When I lived in Houston no one I knew considered Galveston an island-- it was just some place nearby that you got in your car and drove to. You don't have to load your car on a ferry or anything.

Born and raised in Houston...Galveston IS an island, but you get there just heading on I45 South until you hit the seawall. You can go east or west from there. To reach Bolivar Peninsula from Galveston, you take the ferry there and back. HTH :)

This is a relatively recent development thanks to WHTI, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. I had to look this up because I've been to Mexico literally dozens of times and I never once had to show a passport - either on entry or on exit. But I traveled between roughly 1980 and 2000, and WHTI was not in effect at that time.

The new WHTI passport requirements for US citizens were phased in over time - air travelers needed to present a passport or passport card beginning in 2007 while those traveling back to the US by land or sea had to provide such documentation beginning in June 2009.

Those regulations are out of date. They were revised in 2009 I believe. You can get on a cruise from any US port, that goes into the Caribbean and Mexico, with your Drivers license and birth certificate. I cruise at least once a year.

This is not true. He would need a passport or a passport card to travel to the Caribbean by cruise line.

Not true. We just took a Caribbean cruise last year and stopped at several ports. Only one out of four of us had a passport.

This has been my theory all along and I think she is still alive and hoping no one is giving her up for dead. Investigators should check every truck stop and backpage and other internet sites for escort services. A lot of these rings are not run by super intelligent organized criminals but street thugs. They may be on drugs or just think they won't get caught. If she is hidden in a hotel room, maybe they aren't smart enough to worry about someone turning them in. It's all a long shot but its happened before.

J

BBM. When/where?

CNN/HLN can't seem to find his criminal record that is public and open.

They continue down the road that he's only had speeding tickets in his life.

It's irresponsible. They used the Gentle Giant moniker.

Write to them.

I would love to know who made this trip possible to TX. Somebody gave him a tent and supplies, gas money, food money. I doubt he had much money since he hadn't paid his rent. I don't think he looked like much of a camper. In my personal Opinion, somebody helped him out. I hope they find a phone to show who's he's been talking to on his trip. But I've been wrong before.

I have thought maybe he indirectly received money from the story which quoted his grandma that appeared in the Daily Mail? Lol I've been wrong before a few times myself...

I bet I can guess what J. Matthew sister is going to say when she sees him...............Hey Dude, Wheres my car ??

Has he waived an extradition hearing?

Didn't even bother to change his hairstyle! Face looks thinner to me.

Hi, new poster here. I saw that photo of JM on another site the other night. I don't think it's recent. I could be wrong. I'm glad they were able to apprehend him, I was worried they lost him.

MH was linked to DNA to a rape in Fairfax is 05. JM would have been 24 (?). Not impossible, but unlikely.
LE have linked two cases (rape victim and MH), so if he was involved in those I suspect, again, JMO he would have been charged with MH real quick.
Edit: I don't THINk we're supposed to talk about other cases, if that's so, my apologies.

It's probably just an odd coincidence but; I read on another site (rumor)

Glad they found him. Hopefully they can move this case along now.

He's caught. That's great!!! But we still don't know anything. When JM first came in to LE last Saturday (I think) he asked for a lawyer. I don't believe its the same lawyer that he has now. The first lawyer must have told him that LE has tons of evidence on him. That he will be arrested. That he will have a trial. Enough evidence that he took off right after that meeting. Maybe LE didn't have that much. Maybe the lawyer told him the same. Regardless of any of this he showed up at a police station. He must have thought he was safe in some way. What happened on Saturday (again.... I think it was Saturday) that made him run? What did the first lawyer say to him? What did LE have on him? If LE did have enough to make him flee why didn't they arrest him then? Too many ?????????'s

bbm- it is the same lawyer that arrived on Saturday, according to Longo on Coy earlier

Oh my goodness, I saw that comment too! :scared: :gaah:

Unfortunately, if he deleted the comment...but I do distinctly remember a guy telling him something to the effect of " I got you back bro" and "call me if you need anything" he was white thin with a camo shirt? I cant remember. Only 4 ppl at that time had posted words of encouragement.

I hope the dog was not with him either. Dogs deserve good places to be at all times.

I work with a rescue and a number of the dogs in our shelter are there because their owners have been arrested. Unless a family member pulls them or a rescue steps in, they typically are put down in 3 to 5 days :( :( :( poor innocent pups!

Yes I believe you are right. Also, it was the Nelson County Commonwealth's Attorney. Not the Commonwealth Attorney. I know that sounds nitpicky, but the Commonwealth's Attorney in a jursidiction is called that because s/he represents the interests of the Commonwealth, i.e. the State of VA, in court. Not because s/he is the attorney for the entire Commonwealth. So I don't think he could speak for the other cases anyway.

Was that directed at me? I appreciate it, but I know that VA has an Attorney General and different Commonwealth Attorneys. We still call them "the CA." Even the ACAs are called "the CA." It's just the way people talk.
