This is all from memory, but I don't recall associating anything other than [white] male "who it seemed knew the woman he was arguing with" (paraphrase) from the grandmother's account, but the limo driver (who is known by a poster on here, iirc) is who stated seeing someone fitting MH's description being followed two, then one, car lengths behind her by a Hispanic male, near the UHall/R.V. parking lots or the bridge (I don't recall specifics).
You are correct. That poster is me. Driver is also ex LE and was looking around that night for the safety of his/her clients. I don't even have to open a door from somewhere and he/she is out of the car escorting me. I was/am a little too timid to reveal more, as I was contacted by some PI, but this was reported in full to LE. So, the driver was/is trained to be observant and he did see her.

BBM & snipped

Walker, you make some good points.

Most likely the killer was feeling very paranoid and chose the location as it's within his comfort zone. As far as partying being done by youth at the location, it got cold out quick so that would limit that. Perhaps the perp partied there as a youth several years ago. People may not do that anymore, it was a theory as to why he may have been familiar with it. Maybe it was an old make out spot for locals, maybe dirt bikes, quads were rode there as well as hunting. For some reason, the perp is familiar with the area. Could be he lived around there at one point, or even had childhood friends around there. When i mention possibly it was an old party spot, it could have been for the perp many years ago, doesn't mean it still is today. Kids drink in the woods when they are underage, i did.

As for the body being found, its obvious it would be found there. Maybe he wanted it to be found, he was getting tired, maybe feeling a little guilty?

If he didn't want it found there always is the Atlantic Ocean, tons of mountainous areas to dump a body, not to mention old coal mines if he wanted to take a drive. He didn't. He stuck to what was familiar with him, it almost seems like he did it in haste and didn't really think about it. He didn't bother to burn any evidence. Maybe he is feeling guilt and wanted Morgan's body found?

The part you mention in theory about an exboyfriend, could be a possibility, something triggered him and pissed him off, driving him over the edge to the extreme.

This is a very good point. I thought the same thing, with all the mountain locations or even the ocean, which would be more remote in a way. I mean, there was a farmer who worked this land! Not that remote in that regard!

It dawns on me that the perp might have simply been TIRED. By the time that he had done whatever he did, and the resulting adrenaline rush & fall. It could have been that he dumped her body there so he could be rid of it, and go home to get some sleep. I dunno. Its possible. But this was pretty poorly planned, and reeks of being spur of the moment.

Information released in the press conference focused on the specific nature of the location where Morgan's remains were found the morning of Jan. 26, 2010."

What else is there to know about the location that hasn't been theorized or discussed by investigators and bloggers.

Lt. Rader just made it more intense, it seemed like he was telling a child, son, daughter, or a family to come forward with information.

If you pay attention closely he is looking at a the camera with pleading eyes and with authority

Can anyone help me out? I have been reading through the posts in this thread, and I cannot figure out who "EH" is in this story. Could someone please describe who this person is? Thanks!

He is a decent looking 20yr. old registered violent sex offender who lives very close to the farm and works in C'ville.

Completely off topic, I know but (but it's on right now again and reminded me), everytime I see that 'Dear John' commercial it reminds me of Morgan. I guess the female main character reminds me of her?

On a side note, does anyone know if the service is online anywhere?

Is it known what his prior offenses were? What indicators do we know that possibly link him other than his geographical location?

Family and friends gather for Morgan Harrington's memorial mass
Despite the snow and cold, Morgan Harrington's family and friends came out to remember the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student.
Friday, nearly three months after she vanished from outside a concert in Charlottesville, 500 people filled Saint Andrews Church in Roanoke to honor Harrington's memory.
Several took to the podium to speak about her life.

How does a mother deal with this, I wonder? :(

One only wonders.

Going back on topic to yesterday's press conference, I finally had a chance to watch the entire thing, including the Q&A portion at the end.

My impression after watching the entire thing was that yes, indeed, the authorities have either a person of interest or some pretty strong evidence they are withholding from the public, as Lt. Rader's statement of "We are not interested in a confession or suspects"...

Then, later on, when one of the reporters asks him about the terrain he specifically states "I am not here to talk about the offender, I am not here to talk about the offender responsible. We just want information on the area. For now, that's good enough for what we need. I have my reasons for sending the message I'm saying."

What do you all think about this statement?

Isn't it possible the spot on the farm was chosen for it's distance from anyone being able to hear any loud noises (or it's privacy), rather than a place to hide the body?

Is there any place to see a video of that PC? The language Rader used is peculiar. I'd like to see it.

You know what else I noticed from that video?

At minute 26:53, when a reporter asks Lt. Rader if he thinks the person responsible lives in the area,....the answer is spliced from the news footage :eek:....and a whole 10 seconds goes missing!

Does anyone else know of another alternate video that shows the entire press conference, without the missing seconds??? I would like to see Lt Rader's initial reaction and entire response! help!

Couple of thoughts tonight. I thought Lt. Redars press conference was strange in that it was held the night before Morgans Memorial. He has been so silent it just struck me funny.
Next I don't understand why they haven't gone house to house in the area that Morgan was found. Lots of people have lots to say when "asked". They won't call in. Also it seems like a lot of those "estate" owners are South for the Winter and they won't find something amiss til next Spring when they return home.

I have thought a lot about who would feel so comfortable out in that field in the late night when it is rainy, muddy and dark. I don't even venture out into my backyard then.
So I wonder if it was two people? Or they have left Morgan there the next morning?

So many twists and turns to this case.

To me it makes it sound like they know who did it(or a good idea) but can't place him at the spot where her remains were found. They want to know why he chose that spot so they can build their case.

Doesn't it make you wonder how the family of the suspect sleeps at night, if they don't KNOW he did it, they most certainly have their strong suspicions and maybe some guilt by omission. I wonder what makes them feel secure that they are safe, because they are anything but Safe. jmo

Agreed.

Another reason I think this person knew the area:
When all this was going down, the perp had a dead (or dying) girl in his vehicle- a HIGHLY STRESSFUL moment- I don't believe he would be able to drive around, looking at a GPS (and probably in the dark).

My opinion is he HAD to know the area.

This isn't a place you would just stumble upon- that would more likely be closer to a main road.

DING DING DING, this is the crux of the whole press conference from LE, they're almost saying "Look local folks, you know the killer, he's someone you have some doubt about and he knows the farm, call us with the name confidentially..."
