The sleuths have spoken, and the Phantom has retreated -- LOL. Seriously, thanks guys for pointing that out -- it would've been helpful if I had connected that dot.

Much obliged everyone.

Jason Scott was released on a $42,000 bond after his June arrest. He stayed free until September when he was charged in the home invasions cases and held on nearly one million dollar bail. He was free to kill until Sept.

Even if that's true -- I've seen conflicting things -- he's still in jail by October, when Morgan disappeared.

Whatever the evidence is came from the tee shirt, I don't think it was a fingerprint. It was either touch DNA or body fluids/DNA.

Forensic evidence could be a piece of rope matched, a certain common item - playing card, the exact positioning of something from the body to the hair to the clothing, necklace from crime #1 left at crime #2. Necklace from crime #2 missing, etc.

Again, LE NEVER has stated DNA. They also NEVER stated the evidence came from the tshirt. In fact, I have actually seen it reported in two separate media articles that the evidence was from the "scene". I wouldn't take that to mean the tshirt.

Even if it was from the tshirt, it would be useless as the chain of custody of the shirt is unknown from Oct. 17 to Nov. 11.

I vote not DNA. That was a leap made by the parents and bloggers IMO.

Maybe LE didn't tell the parents exactly what the evidence was. You are right that something else could have linked the 2005 assault to AF. MH may have been killed somewhere else. She may have been traveling around the area, and even visiting a Sheet's just like those early witness reports said. Maybe the location in which she was abducted and possibly killed was similar to the site of the 2005 attack.

Maybe MH was still alive on 11/11/09 and left the tee shirt in the student neighborhood herself. Otherwise how can we explain a murderer deliberately leaving an article of clothing possibly containing evidence that could be used against himself?

Maybe she died around the end of November. Would any known fact preclude that possibility?

Just wondering what the 'Sleuths think of the POI in the Brittanee Drexel case having a connection to Morgan Harrington. there is a picture of the suspect in the attempted kidnapping that recently occurred in MB. The forehead looks different, but then I have never seen a picture of his brother who was arrested for the kidnapping and murder of another young woman.

Southern,

Good thinking and throwing out possibilities. I hadn't really considered the chance. I think I had a fleeting thought once, but disregarded it. The Taylor clan seems to commit all their crimes in the same general vicinity, but of course those are only the known crimes. Would be interesting to hear if there are any similarities in the cases beyond the obvious.

The composite in Morgan's case and the pic of the guy accused of the recent abduction attempt in MB who has been questioned in Brittanee's case have alot of physical simalarities, IMO. I don't know how to place side by side pics from the links provided or I would do so. The hairline along the forehead is a bit different, but we must remember that the composite sketch was from several years ago so it would make sense the perps hairline would recede with time.

The eyes, cheekbones, and ears are similar, but the nose is totally different. The sketch has a much lower forehead and a different shape of mouth (the MB guy doesn't have that cupid-bow upper lip). The MB guy also seems to have a longer and more pronounced chin, though that might be an illusion of the beard.

It could be him, depending on how good a look the woman got and how accurately she could describe it for the artist, but I don't think it's likely.

On Friday, the bridge where she was last seen, became a stop on a nationwide tour to remember victims of crime and those still missing. The Community United Effort or CUE Center for Missing Persons came to the Copeley Road Bridge on the campus of UVA. They released butterflies there.

On Friday at 7:05 p.m., Morgan Harrington will be honored at the Red Sox game in Salem. Her father is throwing the first pitch. A moment of silence and video presentation will also happen.

Morgan would have been entering her senior year this year at Virginia Tech.

She was at UVA for a concert last October when she disappeared. There is a $150,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
