If MV can get PETA on his side then protests will be a lot lighter and teams may be more inclined to sign him. He'd better hope he can.

Here's another
MV scandal from 2005;

Elliott's complaint also contends that Vick "apologized profusely" for not telling her he was infected with the STD. Elliot's lawsuit alleges that Vick has used the name "Ron Mexico" and, in a related court filing, her lawyers are seeking Vick's admission that he used the "Mexico" alias--and perhaps other fake names--"for the purpose of herpes testing and/or treatment.

He has earned money doing something else. I believe he worked in construction while waiting to finish his house arrest. I could be wrong.

The NFL will let him play, because he owes so much money. I think he has to pay back the Atlanta Falcons a whole chunk of change.

I'm not going to get into whether or not I believe he should be allowed to play or not. That isn't my choice. I do think he should speak out against the dog fighting "industry" and show how he has lost just about everything due to his stupidity and greed.
Michael Vick owes nothing to the Atlanta Falcons. They have settled and MV is no longer associated with the Falcons.

Bolded by me.

He is volunteering to do things for the humane society.

From http://www.dosomething.org/blog/chatterbox/michael-vick-heads-home-prison.

He is also in talks with PETA to become a spokesperson for their organization.

Vick is also working at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, where he'll work as an aide in summer youth sporting programs, according to Steven S. Kast, the club's chief executive officer.

PETA breaks off talks with Vick to do PSA for them.

With PETA against him it'll be harder to sign with a team. JMO

I hope no team will sign him on. I think that he is sorry that he got caught but if he hadn't he would still be doing the same thing. He had quite a going business with the dog fights. Not that he needed the money either. I guess him and people like him enjoy watching two dogs tear each other apart. Everytime I see a video of those dogs fighting and what they look like afterwards and the way they kill the ones that didn't win or that they don't want anymore just makes me sick. There is something wrong with a person that gets a kick out of watching that and killing the dogs the way they did if they were no longer wanted. I makes me sick.

I have no use for people who torture animals or pit them against each other for the enjoyment of people. The guy doesn't have to worry about money and it would serve him right if no team wanted him. He can live forever on what is left of his bonus.

He didn't tell a female that he had herpes????? What a worthless human being. I wonder how many other females he gave herpes to. It not curable for pity sake. He is just a loser in my book.

Bobbi: I like you we have agreed alot on the MJ threads but.....what about bullfighting? it makes me sick, too but yet still goes on, the bulls will be slaughtered anyways but to be slowly tortured, ug.....so why the big deal about M Vick who has paid prison time, lotsofmoney, paid to rehabilate the dogs, etc?
I say give him a 2nd chance. Bullfighting is also done for the pleasure of people to watch:(
We could go on and on.....puppymills, where adult dogs are kept in cages their whole lives justto have puppies, its cruel IMO but it goes on.
We do live in a society where if you pay the time, go thru the justice system and do it all *probation* etc then you get a 2nd chance. Do you think he will go near another dog? i doubt it, not after what he was put thru, thats a good thing:)

I'll watch him play in Cleveland's Dog Pound! :behindbar
My family is stationed at Fort Leavenworth, and we could see him walking laps around the track at the prison he was in for his disgusting crimes! He is a sick man and does not need to ever re~enter a football field as a professional in his lifetime.

(((aside... for sh!ts and giggles my friends and I would walk the perimeter of post with our dogs and walk alongside the USP barracks where he was being held... as a political statement more or less... we are dog lovers!))))

He should NEVER be allowed near a dog (or any other animal) again. What a .

I am so disgusted at Goodell right now. :furious::furious: He is obviously not an animal lover.

I agree but it is contingent upon good behavior which means Goodell can suspend him on a moments notice.

Mr. vic should not even be allowed to be a part of the NFL! It is disgusting.

Really only if you look at football as a privilege, and not a job.
If someone assaults a person, or robs a store and goes to prison... after doing their time should they be allowed to hold another job in their field?

Probably not back at the same company if they've lied to management and the CEO face to face.

:cow:

There's the CFL, UFL, Arena Football etc.

Leonard Little is still playing and he killed a woman while driving while intoxicated. It is sickening.

There is a guy in the national hockey league who was driving over the legal limit and crashed. His friend who was in the car died. he is a big NHL star and nothing happened to him. It makes me mad when celebrities are treated better than 'regular' people.

I have no doubt that someone will sign Vick if he can still play. If not, there are other pro leagues that will certainly try to sign him. he did his time and football is a business so I can't imagine that he won't play again if he is still any good. (I don't follow the NFL so I don't know if he was good to begin with.)

I'm almost 100% positive he will not return to the Falcons  .

I most definitely look at it as a 130M privilege.

Also, there are many jobs/positions that are no longer accessible to people that are convicted felons. Playing football in the NFL should also be one of them.

Well imo it is not a privilege. Only the best athletes in the world make the teams... not just anyone. If driving is a privilege, after paying off a ticket or spending time in jail... you can get your driver's license back and begin driving again. How is it really different?

I had decided I wasn't going to post on this topic anymore since I had already voiced my opinion but here I go again. Sorry.

In my opinion, anyone that enjoyed financing, watching, participating, etc. in dog fighting and personally torturing and killing dogs, has a psychological problem. During his time in jail did he spend any of it trying to find out why he enjoyed this sick "sport". I'm just asking.

PETA doesn't want his help; yes he paid to have some of the dogs rehabilitated but wasn't it court ordered (I could be wrong), and as far as him volunteering for the Boys and Girls Club I think I would pass on having my child involved.

I never even liked the guy before all the dog stuff happened, this wasn't his first 'problem' anyway. He has I believe flipped off the home fans in Atlanta, and given STDs away like candy... but he has been severely punished for the dog offenses. I just don't know how he could be refused his job after completing his punishment in America... the home of second chances.
