Truth - do you see anywhere where a car could even go off the road? I have seen cars go off the road on 64 but they don't get far and you can easily see them when you pass them.

Regarding the business partner issue - a few days ago there was a post from someone (can't remember and don't have time right now to go back) and they said that the east coast needed to be searched.
I found that interesting. Is that connected?

There has to be more to this story than we know. Something key is missing.

As a family friend,I can tell you that she has put posters everywhere and his father has hired a private investigator.Yes,she has a very strong faith in God and has only left home to go to church. She has been in contact with FBI and AMW. She has tried everything that she or anyone else can think of.

This may have been asked and I missed it. But does she know if he could have transfered his prescription to another pharmacy to have it filled???

I sent a note to JVM, NG, and HLN. I hope others will do the same. We need some national coverage on this!

Hugs,

Mel

Stoneman, please email Tricia (owner) and get "verified" as a family friend/local in this case. Otherwise, we have to take everything as hearsay, ya know? So glad you've joined us.

He was a partner in an electrical company and worked some very long hours when needed. He was doing work for the state of Va and if needed to fulfill a contract would have worked all night. That could explain why it took a while to realize that he was missing.

Thank you, Stoneman. Prayers for the family, and hope your friend is found soon.

I'm wondering, since he sometimes would have to work all night, would he have left Friday morning and not called home for 24-48 hours? Is this normal, or do you think he would have checked in at some point?

Thanks in advance,
Anadarko

nothing in richmond either on tv or in the paper. this makes me sad. what can we do at this point??

Maybe try to reach NG, JVM, etc? I fear that the timeline isn't what it seems. Who knows who "disappeared" Robert, but if you only have the word of people who may or may not be involved (no evidence of this) on what the timeline is, do you really have anything?

Just thinking out loud here folks.

The area where he was last seen or disappeared from, was it anywhere near the James River?

Is it possible that he could have been on a roadway that is next to or near the James River?

“I thought he was going to work,” Hourihan said. “He had his uniform on when he walked out the door.”

But she realized something was wrong when, a short time later, one of her co-workers said she had driven behind Robert Hourihan’s car on Route 53 heading east in the area of Cunningham.

"I started calling his cell phone and it went straight to voice mail,” Hourihan said. “There are a lot of questions we have that we don’t have answers to.”

~~snip~~

The last confirmed sighting of Hourihan was at 8 a.m. when he stopped by the E.W. Thomas store at Route 53 and U.S. 15 to buy breakfast, Wells said.

Several people were inside the store that morning and saw Hourihan, who is a regular customer, Wells said.

Wow, wasn't scheduled to work? Wonder if he planned the day off? Friday would seem like a regular work day... Wow. Uniform and all...this is getting stranger by the minute!!!!

The only conclusion one can come to by getting dressed in one's work uniform and pretending to go to work (to your spouse) is that one wanted the day off w/o any interference by anyone (unless you want them to know). He lied and created a ruse. For what reason, I have no clue, but he did.

The last phone call reported was a 7:41. Could it be that he noticed his wife's friend behind him and turned off the phone after the last call? His wife said when she tried to call it rolled right over to voicemail...so that means it was off for whatever reason.

He then, verified by witnesses, stopped by a regularly frequented place to purchase breakfast at 8:00.

I'm probably jaded, but this whole "happily married, no problems" statement that comes out initially usually means the exact opposite in cases like this. A most recent example here was Wazineh.

BINGO! And does anyone find it interesting that the last person to see him was his wife's friend? Come on - how many times does that happen driving along a highway? IMHO he may have skipped town. Has a call to his MD been made to see if his script was filled, or even tranferred? Is the wife sure the script at home actually contains his meds (and not aspirin or something). If I was naive (which I am most of the time), I'd pick up the bottle, shake it, and say "yah, they're here". Most bottles are orange in color, so you can't tell. While others are white and you actually have to open them to see the contents.

Has the house been searched? Is anything missing?

Did he go to New York to be with his friend?

Something is going on her fer-sure. Too many questions for this kid!

MOO

Or...the story about being in uniform and leaving the house voluntarily isn't true.

Good thinking, but I would think the witnesses where he bought breakfast at 8:00 a.m. could confirm to LE what he was wearing.
