He worked/works for a heating & air company, and up until she had the new baby she worked at Bojangles. Makes me wonder what they did with the 5 year old while they were both at work(or I guess that may explain the cage/crib).

I hope and pray with all of my heart that this poor child is placed with the most loving, caring, experienced and compassionate family there is. She will need a lot of patience and attention and understanding if she is going to ever grow and heal and thrive in this world. She deserves some love and joy.

I call them "puppy people" the kind of person who loves pets, but only while they are little and "cute." After they get a little older, they aren't as interested in them or they are too much bother or they talk back. I really think there are some people who are like that with their kids. By keeping her in a crib, it makes me think of that. Her crime was she grew out of the baby stage.

"Puppy People". Mysteriew you put a name to something I never could. I know exactly what you speak of. That's a killer. Literally. Of course not in most cases, but the way children are disgarded after the new one arrives to fullfill cutesy, baby needs the older kids might as well feel like they've died.

What is that? I've never understood that.

My prayer is that the child the police found is the little girl in the "birthday" photographs. Beautiful little girl. The age would work. It had to be horrific for the little girl, but at least she would be alive.

Investigators initially went to the residence around 7:45 a.m. Thursday to serve a search warrant in a burglary case , according to Little. He said they then discovered the young girl, who appeared to be five or six years old, imprisoned and apparently starving in a modified crib covered with a piece of wood.

I didn't realize LE was investigating the Gores with a search warrant for a burglary. What was stolen?

The articles I read said the deceased child was found IN the shed, not under it... so i'm not sure they had to dig......

I wonder if the deceased and the child found in the crib/cage are his children.I assume the baby is.Some men do no like other men's children.

Good point. Some women also don't like children their husband/boyfriend has from a previous relationship. The video of their proposal was uploaded on the internet less than 3 years ago, and the girl is said to be between 5 and 6. So, it wouldn't be surprising if that girl is from a previous relationship. Other possibility is that they did not want female children.

I bet the child that was found in the shed was also starved and neglected! I'm also betting the little girl we saw in the "birthday photos" is not the same child in the crib, just because nobody that lived around the family ever knew they even existed.

RIP to the unknown child, this is heartbreaking!

GLOUCESTER —First-degree murder charges have been filed against Brian and Shannon Gore following the discovery of the remains of a child on their property on Friday.

In addition, Brian and Shannon Gore each have been charged with attempted capital murder in connection with the treatment of a 2-year-old daughter found on Thursday naked, starving and covered in her own feces in a makeshift cage. The charges against the Gores have been filed in Gloucester Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

That charges are being brought swiftly. They need to have no plea deals and hopefully suffer the death penalty. Awful story.

horrid. Poor caged child, name not even known, not missed by anyone, most didn't even know she existed. Awful. And now another unidentified child found deceased in the shed.

Who are these children? I cannot imagine they are hers. I wonder if he is known to have had any previous children or baby mamas?

The infant (her biological issue) appears to have been pretty well taken care of, at least that is insinuated in the articles I have read. People knew of it, saw it out with the mother, etc. No red flags on the infant.

Who are these other two children? Why the disparity in how they were treated? One is dead, on is caged and living in filth and the woman's infant being sported round town and shown off?

Very puzzling. I think alot more will come out on this one. Either he is the father of the deceased and the caged child and those children were "in the way" of the happy couple's lifestyle, or they were hers and he did not "take" to them but the infant is different because its his biological issue. MOO, lots of ugly gonna come out.

Read that one news outfit visited the homes of both these folk's parents. I use the term folks lightly. There was no answer at either. If the grandparents knew, why didn't they do something. This is a very odd case here in Virginia and news can't come fast enough. A mail carrier from there posted on a site saying that she had seen kids come get the mail in the past and assumed they had just moved back with the "mother" when she stopped seeing them. Are these his kids from a previous, or her kids from a previous or both the deceased and the one in the makeshift prison are theirs. This is so sad. Tortured to near death and left alone in a dark room while she worked at a fast food joint. He worked for a heating and air place in York it appears. What caused the other child's death I wonder.......

I so want to be on the board for the adoption because my heart hurts for these children.

I haven't seen anything at all about children other than the girl that they caged, the body they buried, and the healthy infant that neighbors thought was the only child these monsters had.

The mail carrier saw kids come to the door, possibly the one caged and the one in the shed. She had stopped seeing them. It was just a post on one of the myriad sites I have looked at these past few days. I would assume the kids she saw might have been the deceased and the imprisoned one. Nobody else recalls any kids besides the 1.5 month old they paraded around. The parents of Brian and Shannon refuse to answer their doors.

Here is the post I read earlier:

I was the mail carrier when the Gore’s moved in and I beg to differ with Mr. Hudnall. There were children and a dog. I don’t remember the sex or ages, but when they dissappeares, assumed they were the product of a divorse and had gone back to their mother. My question is, where were the grandparents? Shannon spends a lot of time with her parents,
so why didn’t they step in? I feel they are just as guilty as the parents. They could have prevented this tradgedy.

I was the mail carrier in that area when Shannon and her husband moved in. There were children when they moved in and a dog. The children used to come and get the mail occassionallly from me. I don't remember how old they were. When the children were not there anymore, I just assumed they were the product of a divorse and went back to their mother. Shannon currently gets her mail in a box she shares with her parents. I feel that the grandparents are just as guilty as the parents. If the parents no longer wanted their children, the grandparents should have stepped in and prevented this tragedy. So sad

People close to the family say the couple's parents were also unaware of the little girl's existence, KTHV, of Little Rock, Ark., reported.

and

On Friday evening, investigators made another startling discovery at the Gores' home when they dug near a freestanding shed. It was there, at about 8:30 p.m., that they discovered the remains of another child buried in the ground, police said.

I just don't get how close friends and family members could "not know" of this child (the two year old starved one). This makes no sense to me. Who is this child???? How could no one know of its existence if it is biologically either of these fine citizens????

Brian Gore told investigators the girl was born on Dec. 5, 2008, at home. The couple was married on Jan. 24, 2009, in a civil ceremony in Newport News, according to a copy of their marriage certificate filed in Gloucester County Circuit Court.

snipped from mysteriew's link above

still not being clear on whether this child is his or some previous relationship of hers. and who the heck is the child buried out by the shed??

Sick sick freaks. I know to treat a stray dog better than these people have treated these children.

Snips:
"This is the worst [case] I have seen in my career," Lt. Scott Little of the Gloucester County sheriff's office told The Huffington Post today.

People close to the family say the couple's parents were also unaware of the little girl's existence, KTHV, of Little Rock, Ark., reported.

According to Little, the Gores, who are both being held without bond at Gloucester County Jail, are believed to be the parents of all three children.
