FGS, how do these people's families have no idea of the existence of two children. They obviously knew of the infant?? They are all still in contact, not like there was any reported estrangement. It will be interesting to see if the deceased child is also female. Perhaps the difference in sex played a role in the apparent different treatment.

During the investigators' questioning of the parents, the Gores said the girl has Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

I wonder how reliable that is. According to other media the child was born at home. So was this confirmed by doctors either before or after the arrest?

Ahhh... later in the story B. Gore says that no one even knows the little girl exists. So I would guess that it wasn't confirmed before.

The girl's bones were visible, her hair was matted with flecks of food and feces in it and was thinning toward the forehead, according to court documents.

The tiny girl had red pressure sores on her buttocks area where her heels were constantly pressing against the area due to the confined space where she was living, according to court documents.

"The child was eating the flakes of skin that were falling off of her," wrote Gloucester Sheriff's Investigator Jake Forehand.

The girl was living in what investigators described as a makeshift cage with several boxes on top of it that prevented her from escaping. Brian Gore told Forehand he built the contraption, according to search warrant documents.

Poor poor baby girl. It was obvious to those who encountered this situation that this little girl had been in this cage and starved for a long while. I wonder if this little thing ever knew love or safety or even a modicum of decency from her own parents or another soul. :shakehead:

I am curious to know the age and sex of the child who was discovered deceased by the shed. I also wonder if the children's sex has anything to with their treatment or if perhaps when they stopped being infants and started getting into things and requiring more attention and parenting they simply became "inconvenient".

Awful. I hope they nail both these [unusual persons] to the wall.

One also wonders what justification or explanation is being offered for what happened to the dead child buried by the shed. Did it also have downs or CP? Not buying the carp "dad" is serving up.

A dog named "Gracie" that appeared to be a beagle mix was also taken away Thursday night by Gloucester Animal Control, Twitchell and Schmitt said.

"The dog didn't have a mark on her," Twitchell said. "The dog lived a life of luxury while the child starved."

Well apparently she took a maternity leave for the infant and was walking around with him, so people knew she had an infant. While the girl (who is supposedly 2) doesn't even appear to have a birth certificate. The girl is two but she was born before the two of them officially married so still not clear if both of them are the bio parents.

While I understand that not receiving prenatal care and delivering at home without medical care before during or after would leave no paper record of this child, I still have a lot of trouble understanding how no friend or relative was aware of either that pregnancy or the little girl's existence. There is no mention of an estrangement from family or a "disappearance" of Gore during the time she would have been pregnant with the 2 year old. Did the woman stay locked up in the trailer for nine months? WTH?

I find it very odd that there was zero medical care for this girl during or after birth so I must assume there was no prenatal care either. This suggests to me a conscious effort to keep this child's existence secret. Why? Its not as if they knew ahead of time that the child would have downs, CP or any other medical or developmental disorder and that two years down the road they would be "forced" to cage her because she created so much "Chaos" when allowed to interact with the family.

Well , it is huge to hide a child. One has to plan or hiding it and keep it up. I do have to wonder what the motivation for that is. No benefits for the child , no tax credit. Had to be a good reason to keep it quit right?
If it was just to murder her they could have done that already. If they ever planned on being decent people ,someone would have known. This is insane.

The pdf interview of BG, states he said she had no prenatal care. Also the child has no birth certificate, b/c no one was ever aware she was born:furious:

I would like to know just who diagnosed her with Down's or CP, and I'm doubting everything that comes out of their mouths.

I'm wondering if the parents even gave the correct birthdate of the caged girl (i hate to call her that, but we don't know her name). In the early articles LE thought her to be 5 years old or so, even though she was the size of a one year old. Brian Gore said she could stand before she was put into the cage last summer.

The thing that totally baffles me is Shannon Gore was the manager of a fast food restaurant- the manager- and she didn't even bring the child food. Before she worked there, they both worked at another BBQ restaurant. What's up with that?
