It's frustrating because if someone (say a teen) goes missing and two weeks later they find a body, within 24-48 hours they have a dental comparison ID and it's done.
Someone goes missing for years and put on a website, and it takes 6-9 months to compare dental or fingerprint records.. seems odd.
Of course, I'm on the outside looking in, but it's almost like if it's not a "hot" case then it just gets put on the back burner.. those families are still hurting everyday too..
imo
When I say 6-9 months this is what I refer to. I did not say this would take that long IDK it is not my place to question the Det or the ME office.
1. dna is it avaiable or is it going to be have to be collected?
2. Fingerprints if they are not avaiable will they have to be tracked down. Have they been distroyed? Have they been archived?
3. Dental recods how old are they where are they. Have they got to be found is the dentist still in business?
There are allot of things that come into play when you are working with a Doe case in which is a few years old.
