I think stoic too....with a lot of swallows and cotton mouth. I secretly hope she barfs or faints or does something exciting. Although I'm sure she is heavily medicated.

Remind me again...does the jury recommend LWOP or DP tomorrow??

The Jury only decides what she is guilty of whenever the verdict comes...But one thing about if they decide she deserves death - She will not end up with Travis. Travis is in a good place, and if JA gets sentenced to death and goes there - She will not be in a good place...JMO

OT maybe, but I would probably laugh out loud if JA made a break for it and got trampled by one of Travis' beloved elephants.
Disclaimer: I'm entitled to my fantasies.

My (embarrassingly immature) inner child is smirking and snorting...

Having a mental condition does not automatically equal insanity. My understanding of insanity defense is that the defendant's condition must be such that he or she cannot distinguish between right and wrong or cannot comprehend the outcome of the crime. Its an incredibly high burden and usually there is a long history of tragic mental problems.

I hope that helps.

ITA - and I believe tha JA falls in the Narcissistic Personality Disorder much better. http://www.psyweb.com/mdisord/jsp/napd.jsp

A short clickable list of Axis I and II is here http://www.psyweb.com/DSM_IV/jsp/dsm_iv.jsp with short and concise explanations of each disorder under each category.

And a new DSM is coming out this month :eyeroll: Sounds like grounds for an appeal.

If you read the link below the home owners state the realtor DID tell them there was a murder in the home before they bought it. Husband was ok with it, wife was nervous about it. However, she said they love the home, it isn't creepy or eerie at all and she feels a connection with Travis.
There is no law in AZ that the murder/bad event past of a home has to be disclosed, however, good realtors do reveal it, lest they anger buyers and hurt their reputation/career.

Well another case of inaccurate reporting. Funny how the stories change. Troy definitely said they didn't know. Glad they like it. Travis would be glad someone is taking care of it.

Borderline Personality and Criminality

Abstract
Borderline personality disorder is characteristically associated with a broad variety of psychiatric symptoms and aberrant behaviors. In this edition of The Interface, we discuss the infrequently examined association between borderline personality disorder and criminality. According to our review of the literature, in comparison with the rates of borderline personality disorder encountered in the general population, borderline personality disorder is over-represented in most studies of inmates. At the same time, there is considerable variation in the reported rates of this Axis II disorder in prison populations, which may be attributed to the methodologies of and populations in the various studies. Overall, female criminals appear to exhibit higher rates of borderline personality disorder, and it is oftentimes associated with a history of childhood sexual abuse, perpetration of impulsive and violent crimes, comorbid antisocial traits, and incarceration for domestic violence.

...

Snip: In an interview-based study, Jordan et al4 examined female felons (N=805) who were newly admitted to a North Carolina prison. They found that 28 percent of these inmates met the criteria for BPD.

Oh brother... this guy is dragging out his 15 minutes...
My reply to him is:
1 - If they are writing "mean" things to you all you have to do is not read them. Celebrities learn that quickly! You want to be infamous? This is part of the deal.

2 - Give me a break. If there was ANYONE who could back up the "abuse claims" the DT would have them on that stand so fast their head would spin! :scared: Anyone can claim anything and be a big shot in their own little corner of the world but being willing to say it under oath is a totally different story!

Just pointing out that most Personality Disorders are comorbid----they co-exist. So JA could have a primary diagnosis of BPD with traits that will flair up of NPD, or HPD, or ASPD. ykwim?

A new DSM V will never change her diagnosis or be grounds for an appeal.

Got my pajama pants and a shirt on so I'm ready for the night. Cofffee is set up to go in the AM, If the chairs, recline we're good to go!

You mean do it "Nurmi" style?

PS- Radar, is that Dee Reynolds in your av?

I took my teen daughters ipod out when I went for a jog yesterday and I couldn't get over some of these female country artists lyrics. It's all about killing or getting a guy who cheats. Miranda's song, "not my mamas broken heart" literally talks about getting revenge and the video shows her wielding a knife, that other gal talking about slashing tires and taking a baseball bat to the car, then Dixie chicks goodbye Earl. All these songs instigate violence and maybe it takes a sociopath that mimics people to think this is what is warranted when she feels she is wronged. I'm starting to see these type of songs more often and it's out of hand. Honestly, I know this was long before these songs but still. Check this video out. It's bothersome to me. What ever happened to sweet country music? Don't get me wrong, I love the beat and hooks but wow.

SLOW DOWN! :scared:
I keep trying to "catch up" on these threads and it is dang near impossible!
I have about 10 threads bookmarked already, I keep thinking I will be able to sit a few hours and get up to speed, but this forum has some massive traffic coming through.
Suppose I shall have to just sit down for a week or so after verdict and try and really take it all in, in the meantime I shall start at this point and try to keep up (not gonna happen!).

A thought occured to me, maybe it has been touched on already since this trial started, but I am new so not sure.
When Travis says the famous line on the phone sex call about the 12 year old, has anyone else ever thought he was possibly saying it as a slight put down to her? Meaning, her *ahem* orgasm did not sound genuine, thereby sounding like a 12 year old having her first (and being 12 likely doing what they THINK it should sound like).
To me she just sounds so freakin' phony during that call, and as it has been said he at first did not seem that into it. Maybe he was giving her a little dig that flew right over her head?

Anyway, just musing while I try to get up to websleuth speed and wait for tomorrow....
Night all!

LOL! I can never keep up either - the threads are moving fast lately!
As for JA, the big "O" and the 12 yr old comment -yes. I also believe he was basically saying "wow, way to oversell that!" :floorlaugh:
Her asking him to repeat the 12 yr old comment (and others in that call) make me believe she was taping without his knowledge and wanted to make sure all his comments were caught on tape.

If I was a juror, and we had agreed to a verdict, and were going home to sleep on it, I think I would be very tempted to look at the internet a bit to double check. JMO

I can one better you. I would be looking at the internet the entire time.

I would make a terrible juror. Curious and stubborn. :/

Sir: Did you give books to JA while in jail? That is a YES or NO question

He could be telling the truth, but it still may all be lies if you know what I mean. Perhaps Jodi did 'duck' in front of Gus when speaking to Travis, then fed him a line of BS similar to the one she told Chris and Sky .. he just took her word and believed her. Then she ducked into a bathroom and snapped off a few pics of her 'bits' and texted them off to Travis.

It's possible Gus was completely conned by Jodi.
