Even if the sexual bs the defense put up is shocking to them, they should be smart enough to realize what they did behind closed doors has no bearing on the case.

Problem is, they might equate that with "abuse".

I can imagine one juror wanting to see the evidence again .. it was a long trial and that is a lot better than a hung jury that is for sure .. I can be patient, I want them to be very thorough, I want them to think about it, discuss it, be sure of their decision BEFORE they make a decision. We can wait .. I think it will be fine, I think she'll get Murder 1, some of them may be unsure or not ready to render their verdict .. that is OK, it's a BIG decision. That is what we want from our jurors. Careful deliberation.

I think the jurors are taking a while because the whole case is pretty complicated with a lot of pieces that need to be put together. My biggest question is, what was the motive? I get the jealousy part, but was it a strong enough motive to murder him the way she did? Obviously, she was enraged when she murdered him because when someone causes this much harm to someone, it's pretty personal. IMO of course.

I'm hopeful for a first degree conviction. I'm not gonna let the wait or the length of time the jurors take to deliberate affect that. I truly feel for Travis's family, those past days must have felt like years for them.

I'm an attorney and while admit to being emotional about this case and passionate about my feelings that jodi is guilty and that Travis deserves justice, my profession renders me particularly capable of examining evidence and argument clinically, dispassionately and divorced from my emotions. Thus, despite my dislike of both defense counsel for what I felt was a ruthless defense based on allegations they knew were lies, despite my dislike if their styles, I was able to see that technically, they did a good job for their client with the facts they had and I didn't buy into the vitriol about their looks or outfits or how they sat or adjusted their junk.
Bottom line, zero credible evidence of pedophilia tendencies on part of Travis. In fact, her allegations about Travis viewing pornographic media of young boys and breaking her finger when she caught him was thoroughly refuted. Thoroughly.

Finally, as an attorney, I am well able to use logic when analyzing facts and evidence. But that ability is not unique to my kind. Thousands of my sleuth friends here clearly demonstrate their intelligence and wisdom and ability to set emotion aside and utilize logic. And frankly, I find your post to contain the inference that people who don't see evidence of pedophilia are irrational people letting their emotions get in the way of reality. And I think that's offensive. Especially since I believe that a finding that some basis for those revolting allegations exists, is not based in reality.

ITA. I could never live with myself if I gave up a compromise verdict. I'd never, ever give away murder 1. Hang it. At least you don't go out with a whimper.

She killed him three times over. End of story.

My husband just came in the kitchen to tell me that some man on HLN said that there was a woman hold out the jury...and that was why there wasn't a verdict reached yet.


This is why I drink.

How would HLN know this??

There is an interesting gentlemen on JVM on HLN that said he was on a murder one case and is talking about their hold out juror. Anyone else watching him.

He said the lady who was the hold out demanded to see every piece of evidence.

please believe me when i tell you we've heard all that chit before. our brains haven't turned to stone quite yet, and yes, we remember.

I think that most people would consider elderly to be over 60. Considering that a vast majority of people don't live past their 80's, I think that this assessment is a fair one. And, it is true that many elderly folks will be quite educated in these areas, but I just know from life experiences that many MANY people in this age category are not exposed to phone sex and crotch shots on a regular basis. lol Now, you....you've just been here at WS so long that you are a pro. :floorlaugh:

I must say I am astonished at the amount of posters who are so quick to dismiss HIS words as roleplay or fantasy games as though they are cool!

I could care less if Travis had sex with 1000 women, I am sure his numbers were no where close to that but mine are if not well over. I lost count at 100 and that was by twenty, add on two decades of sewing my oats, yeah the # is high!

and I have done a lot of tabu's within those numbers such as sisters and such, however during all of my episodes never have I ever thought what a 12 year old girl might sound like. That is sick and twisted, Nurmi got that right, who would say such a thing. I am sure this idea has never entered into very many peoples minds before this trial.

A few of his (TA) other comments were bizarre and twisted as well, clearly he had issues, especially if his sexual life was as limited as it appears to have been.

Just kinda of tired of seeing him get a free pass and being tossed off as roleplay and fantasy. Lets call a spade a spade and sick is sick.

School girl and virginal fantasies are very common. A LOT of people (male or female) enjoy the idea of initiating someone into sex. It may not be your taste but that doesn't make it sick. Anal sex isn't my taste but I'd hardly drop sick on someone else because it was theirs.

He was talking about his experience being on a jury and JVM made a big deal about it.

They have no idea just like we have no idea.

What worries me is the age of some of the jurors. That some might not be "hip" enough to understand the defense sex BS.

Or are unfamiliar with phone sex & have little idea how many texts people send to each other on a daily basis, and that you can never know from a text whether sarcasm applies etc etc. The age thing is a bit disconcerting. I figure if no verdict by end of tomorrow I may start to worry. God don't let there be a hung jury. There is NO way anyone can go through this again and I refuse to believe our luck has gotten this bad.

Ummmm waiting for the verdict... Topic has gotta stray from time to time..... Or the only thing posted would be the time the jury is deliberating, our stress level, and strumming fingers.
