Paul, exaggerating again. From what I understand, the whole guilt/sentance/DP took 15 days total, over a 5 week period. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

The total was 15 days spread over 5 weeks

They decided she was guilty....then

They took two days and decided the aggravating factors applied...making her eligible for a death verdict,.then...

They deliberated life v death for three days and gave her life

@juanstie: @adeleatplay @TrialDiariesJ @StabbysPencil @audrey_m It has been extended http://t.co/F4DDuLTxWy

MIT spec contract extended til 2018

OMG ... I cannot believe the former Cougarlicious' contract has been extended. But is her contract extended for just JA, or others as well ? TIA !

MDLR is one of the most unprofessional persons I have ever seen in a courtroom. Also, her "behavior" on Social Media and in the courtroom, is that of high school girl, and she dresses like she is going to a nightclub !

:gaah:

And seriously, besides baby-sitting the convict, managing her art work and social media accounts, and obtaining a questionable affidavit from a cray cray in NZ, what did MLDR really do as a mitigation specialist ?

Nothing, IMO.

It's probably her contract with the state. I am not sure Arias is in need of a mitigation specialist anymore. Really, after she's sentenced there's nothing left to mitigate.

On April, 8, 2014, DeVault was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder for the death of Harrell and the jury found that excessive cruelty had been used which made DeVault eligible for the death penalty.[16] In a statement to the court DeVault apologized for the murder, saying that she was "sorry, not only for my actions, but for everyone I hurt" and also addressed Harrell's parents, stating that "My heart goes out to them ... His mother and father have had to experience the worst loss in the world - the loss of a child. I know there is nothing I can say that will ever ease their pain."[16]
Sentencing[edit]
The penalty phase of the trial commenced on April 15 and deliberations began on April 22.[17] The jury sentenced DeVault to life in prison instead of giving her the death penalty and Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery stated that "Imposing the death penalty in any circumstance is difficult and in this one the jurors apparently felt that a life sentence was appropriate". On June 6, 2014, the judge in the case sentenced Devault to life in prison without the possibility of parole.[17]

Hello my loves! Just checking in on the verdict watch!

BBM: True, but it has now gone past the February 28, 2015 date, and we have no idea how long the jury will deliberate.

And IF the jury is hung, JSS decides sentence ... So would JSS decide the sentence immediately after the jury is hung -- or -- schedule a date for sentencing down the road, in which case, MLDR will still be around :gaah:

They should have NOT renewed her contract, IMO, even if her BFF's case is still ongoing.

For those wanting more information about Jodi's threat to inflict great collateral damage on the communities that loved Travis Alexander if the state would not comply with her offer to plead guilty to Second Degree Murder (12 years), please read the document written on her behalf by KN in 2011. He uses a letter written by JA in 2010 to the State in which she outlines her plan.

One of the things that struck me was the amount of collateral damage to other individuals that would occur during the trial. Mr. Alexander carried on numerous relationships that while in and of themselves are really not a big deal. However, when you consider them in the context of all parties' relationship and affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, they become a very big deal. Marriages would be affected, standing within the religious communities would be affected, personal friendships would be affected, and most of all the very poignant and cherished memories of Mr. Alexander would be tarnished.
https://grahamwinch.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/jodiariasngfile.pdf

Later in the document, KN makes it clear that JA "is of the understanding that Mr. Alexander's family is not concerned about the fact that many of the details of Mr. Alexander's relationship with Miss Arias and/or other parties will be made public."

It seems clear the pain inflicted and damage done in court by JW and KN was done only to punish the State for not going along with JA's demand to be free in four more years or so, ie. seven years already served plus the balance of a twelve year sentence. It's JA lashing out, trying to break marriages, friendships, fellowships between members of LDS communities, romantic and professional relationships this one last time with a huge audience to see it all. I get the feeling, though, that people are coming out stronger from this experience than they were when they went into it. They have truly faced the refiner's fire and emerged victorious. I don't think Travis Alexander's friends were broken or deprived of the comfort of the LDS community no matter how the DT railed at them. I believe people think very highly of Deanna's composure under the needless badgering and nastiness of KN, and the calm assurance of the Bishop made KN's ranting seem ineffectual and petty. Sky and Chris Hughes may have been bruised by all that's been thrown at them, but they are coming through this stronger in their conviction to commemorate the real Travis Alexander and thereby erase the false image put up by the DT. JA's tantrum has, I believe, not had the outcome for which she'd hoped. Not by a long shot.

JSS would schedule a date for sentencing but hear no further testimony.

I remember being shocked to learn about Casey Anthony's mitigation specialist, Rosalie Bolin, who left her Tampa attorney husband and family for a murderer she met and married. Anyone remember that?

Specialist married to death-row inmate joins Casey Anthony's defense

Last year, Bolin was briefly hired by the public defender's office in Duval County as a contract employee to work on a death penalty case.

But that employment lasted only a matter of weeks before she was let go.

"We learned that she had a fairly colorful past and that alone had warranted some amount of media interest in her as a person. And that extra attention to her personal life, we felt, was distracting to her serious role as a mitigation specialist," Matt Bisbee, spokesman for the public defender's office, said Wednesday.

"We found that it would probably be a little more helpful to our clients and our attorneys on the case to not have that particular media attention focused on the personal life on people assisting."

Managed to avoid getting run over by a llama or two - just catching up! I was on Fox News yesterday morning commenting on the Jodi Arias circus, but was then upstaged by llamas! LOL. I was on Fox in a snippet. 15 minutes of fleeting fame. Sigh. But the Llama Drama 2015 will live on!

I feel like there may be a verdict Monday - not that JSS would EVER have a jury wait if they had decided. But, the jury may have reached a verdict but decided, on their own, to take the long weekend and everyone could make sure they had no change of heart. They know what they want to do, but want to make sure the decision isn't too hasty.

Just my thought. I'm going to hang out at the courthouse Monday, enjoy the free wifi, and hope to be there for a live verdict. One way or the other, Jodi is not going free. But I wish there was a way to shut down her publicity machine. Torture, for Jodi, is being ignored.

I watched Troy Hayden on the live broadcast from Wed? and he reiterated how all of the girls in Jodi's pod rallied around her, just loved her, and it was like a Jodi slumber party...So Bizarre.

She likes to tease us.

Wow. Can't believe they decided to keep paying her to do nothing but tweet and gossip.

Freaking outrageous!! AZ taxpayers should petition. Not because she helped Arias team, but because of her unprofessional behavior. JMO

If there's a DP, I think MdlR can continue to meet with JA, as an "agent of the attorneys of record", right to the day of execution. Maybe AZL can clear this up.

OK I will try this again.
Beth Karas and Jenn Woods and Jarrett posted a teamwork video that was awesome. It states that it may take more days to reach a verdict?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-DLP_-bF10

OK, gotcha.

You're saying Beth and Jen and Jarrett are suggesting it may take more days for a verdict than some of us are thinking.

I agree, it may.

Or it may not.

Well, Arias may be entitled to a mit specialist for who knows how long into the future but I don't think there is anything that entitles her to having MDLR be that person.

Anyway, I think the contract is renewed with the state and not just specifically for this defendant.

Either way, the woman is a slouch and to me renewing her contract compares to flushing state dollars down the toilet.

My guess is that the average AZ taxpayer is more concerned with the state income and property taxes than the fees of a one-off trial pony.

Many psychopaths have a talent for reeling people in initially. So it really is not all that bizarre.

Hope you get a front row seat for the verdict. If so, watch her face--see if you can read her at precisely that moment.
