I'm not convinced she's a psychopath. I was, through the 2013 trial, and definitely through her testimony on direct (with Nurmi lobbing her softballs), but if you look at how cowed she was after a few days of Juan's cross, that is very incompatible with psychopathy. The nature of a psychopath is to believe unerringly in the power of their own ego, not to break down and fear to even look a questioner in the eye.

Managed to avoid getting run over by a llama or two - just catching up! I was on Fox News yesterday morning commenting on the Jodi Arias circus, but was then upstaged by llamas! LOL. I was on Fox in a snippet. 15 minutes of fleeting fame. Sigh. But the Llama Drama 2015 will live on!

I feel like there may be a verdict Monday - not that JSS would EVER have a jury wait if they had decided. But, the jury may have reached a verdict but decided, on their own, to take the long weekend and everyone could make sure they had no change of heart. They know what they want to do, but want to make sure the decision isn't too hasty.

Just my thought. I'm going to hang out at the courthouse Monday, enjoy the free wifi, and hope to be there for a live verdict. One way or the other, Jodi is not going free. But I wish there was a way to shut down her publicity machine. Torture, for Jodi, is being ignored.

I watched Troy Hayden on the live broadcast from Wed? and he reiterated how all of the girls in Jodi's pod rallied around her, just loved her, and it was like a Jodi slumber party...So Bizarre.

I still don't get why she didn't allocute. She needs ONE juror. Cry, act crazy, beg for your life. If you get ONE juror to your side the quality of your incarceration dramatically improves. A job, classes, possibility of medium security in a dorm type setting and much more time out of a cell and more visitation etc v. 23 hour lockdown and no contact with others and very restricted visitation.
To me the odds of convincing one person to spare your life are better than her Hail Mary closed courtroom prospective appeal ever will be

Agree. I would be aghast were my state spending $3.1 million to try Jodi, I'm just not sure I would blame the mitigation specialist for that price tag.

IMO, if she had stood in front of the jury and spoke, she would have erased what she believes is her strongest chance of successful appeal--that her mental illness prevents her from speaking in open court. She wants things overturned based on JSS not allowing secret testimony. I think with that in mind there was no way for her to allocute in open court.

I believe that somebody posted in the last thread that the jailers have been warned about Jodi and to keep their distance. She is such a good liar that she might suck someone in.

She didn't allocute because begging for mercy would entail begging for forgiveness (i.e. admitting she murdered Travis) and so long as she is surrounded by people who give her affirmation as a victim of abuse she will never admit the truth. Her identity as a victim is the one last, sad, lonely, defeated and pathetic card that stands between her and total societal expulsion.

She may be doing a great job. We have to remember, she is only as good as what she has to work with. Remember Jodi's "spare me, I can grow hair" speech? We all laughed at it but that may have been the product of weeks and months of painstaking labor in the cause of finding something-anything-for Jodi to plead with. They're not magicians. They have to deal with the facts and the defendant they're handed. Jodi doesn't give a lot to work with.

I don't even pay attention to the mitigation specialist. There's something more important than her right now. I don't approve if her actions are so subjective, but hey, haven't bothered and don't care, honestly right now. I feel the same way about the family of JA too.

Can't wait for documents to be released!!! They would be more important than buying a book or watching it recorded in court to me. Just want the records to be in a nice neat pile in PDF format or such. I'm in for $20.

JA is possibly one of the most devious planning killers out there, to me. She's up there with other high profile killers & for sure with her twists against facts. Can you actually live a full life twisting facts forever and get away with it? Some do unfortunetly, let it not be Jodi, let her be controlled the rest of her life in silence. all jmo

You forgot to add superior legal representation and a radical faction of the public automatically on your side regardless of the facts of the case with a DP verdict, as opposed to LWOP. It's a high-stakes game she's playing and any advantage may be worth its price, but then she's played high stakes games before and lost.

Do you all think the jurors know that she had the opportunity to allocute but didn't? (Logic would say yes right? Oh by the way, they never got an explanation for her refusal to continue with her testimony right?

The clothes thing is very weird though. Maybe the murderess had an "accident?" Maybe she puked all over herself, or maybe she tried to slit her wrists with her peanut butter sandwich? wilma and MDLR were probably bringing in a fresh set of shackles and stipes???

Maybe she had a fiting? Not just "any" clothes will do for her last big day don't you know? With possible interviews to follow.

Just chiming in off of Hatfield's post ... In the previous thread someone mentioned I (Shadowboy) had something to say about time stamps, etc. on the photos.

I had a convo with Hatfield over the validity/recording of the sex-phone conversation. Don't recall any "words of wisdom" from me re: the still photos.

For the record: In spite of my 'tag name' ... I am female. Knew a faithful, loving male dog by the name of Shadow. And -- yes -- I am a video professional. Have 30+ years in a male-dominated industry, so I guess I've earned the tag 'boy.'

My memory let me down yesterday. Couldn't even remember "Diddums". :sigh: I remember a distinct comment really breaking down - with tech speak - why the pictures weren't transferred onto the camera from somewhere else. Must have been another user. Too bad I can't remember, I would have googled for the post.

I SHOULD really bookmark noteworthy comments; sometimes the threads move so fast that I feel we miss certain important posts by our members.

I don't think she had any 'normal people' clothes at the courthouse initially. Once JSS ruled she could hear the verdict dressed like a normal person, her attorneys had to bring her costume right away, since the verdict could come at any time.
