This 'too predudicial' stuff drives me nuts. Truth is truth, too bad.

IKWYM, the truth is too prejudicial in a proceeding that is based on finding the truth--leaves me scratching my head and more than a little disgusted.

Any juror that has to walk through the front door, security check, the elevator, the hall way to get to the 'war room', while the reporters, public, and any minions are watching them would be showing signs of being scared or stressed. The jurors are watched for reactions, what they are wearing, what food they are bringing in and then the jurors probably are worrying about the felon's minions coming up to them saying "HI" just to get them thrown off the jury.

I would be nervous to until I go to the 'war room' and could shut out everyone but my fellow jurors.

Too bad there is not a separate entrance the jury could go through while they are in deliberations. It is evident they are not even escorted to help prevent any issues.

What happens at the end of the verdict announcement. They will be pounced on by everyone wanting an interview! I also worry for them because the felon has made threats to the Judge and JM and possibly others that she would harm if she gets the death penalty. Who knows what crazy people are out there just waiting to help the feeling. I may be going over board, but it is a possibility.

I hope JSS has a plan in effect.

AZLawyer....what happens to the jury after the verdict is read. Are they on their own to escape the hunters? Are their names released even if they don't want them released (I don't remember from Trial One). Thanks.

Is there only the one issue of JA's sentence they have to decide?

There will probably be a verdict today. I have to leave for work soon. :( Since I teach, there is no way for me to sneak a peek during working hours. So, I'll probably miss the live verdict. Save me a seat for the after verdict discussion and please post lots of pics.

I thought there were comments by the mom that said they were not coming back? They would not be attending the verdict. Did I misunderstand? Or are they just throwing statements out there just like the felon does?

The person who posted that the mother said that, maybe someone in the media, corrected themselves. She never said that. I am sure her mother will be there for the verdict.

The judge will ask them if they want to interview with media separately, as a group, or not at all. as a group, they will likely be provided a press room for cameras and press. if they wish not to be interviewed, they will be escorted out another way. The judge takes care of this.

I thought everyone owned a crockpot, it's the only way I know how to cook

My professor ALWAYS sits behind his laptop. WHO KNOWS what he is watching on there.....

just sayin'.

JSS to jury: "Did any of you watch media about this case?"

Jury: "No, we all binge-watched The Walking Dead."

She doesn't have a sister who's crazy and cruel. She has a sister who has survived DV and has now been wrongfully convicted for defending herself against her abuser by a prosecutor with an agenda and the evil theatrical Alexanders.

That whole bunch makes me sick.

Sounds like you have been reading the JA is innocent site too. JA is really mad at Troy Hayden for releasing that singing tape. Big deal it is only the audio, no one saw her in her stripes with her cohorts so what is the big deal? Those people over there are truly nuts. They came up with the idea (from JA) that she had a number of memory cards that could have been used. They forget she had blond hair before. Also, they claim the PT had no time of death, it could have been weeks. Weeks???? Said her pants were white with black stripe and police never found any black pants. It goes on and on. Mind blowing

Well, if jury comes in with a plate of brownies we might get a swift verdict! :happydance:

I attended two days of the trial and when i got let in the first day by myself to fill an empty chair, Jodi looked me up and down with those cold eyes. Scared the cr@p out of me. The evil emanating from her was palpable. She will definitely have no qualms about hurting another person in the future. With that being said, i go for DP because that is what the lovely Alexanders want. <mod snip>

Edit: i was there for the trial and not the penalty phase.

I'm totally good with evidence being excluded because it might be too prejudicial. I just wish a similar strict standard applied to "evidence" about victims.

Good morning fellow Sleuthers! I hope everyone had a fun or relaxing weekend of FREEDOM. Something the killer will NEVER have again! I am late to the party and have not caught up on the thread yet. Any tweeters reporting the arrival if the jury and any mention of how they are dressed or of they came with a crock pot again? Thanks so much. Justice is coming for Travis soon~ Frigga

She was the least accurate last week. I am following Troy wild and jen.
Yes it's a shame that media get influenced by other media and tell the same story instead of searching out a story for the truth. JMO? She isn't exempt by any means. They all make mistakes but you would think all the huddling and repeating same stories would get old.

Wish I could get away with that, but I never get to just sit...it's all time lecture/talk/demonstrate with me. :blah:

I'd like to see the AZ law regarding what's prejudicial, because I believe there's supposed to be a weighing process judges do with "probative" on one side and "prejudicial" on the other, and evidence is prejudicial is it tips the scale to that side ..i.e. just because some info hurts the defendant doesn't mean it's not true and informative for jurors. But what do I know about AZ law? Next to nothing.
