Asking if the costs are worth it is not complaining. I'm not saying it's not worth it...I'm questioning the costs. And I'm not saying what the value is to the victim's family, which of course would be invaluable.

It's a worthy question because it's a lot of money to spend trying to get one killer onto death row (and that's a fact, not a complaint).

At first blush it sounds like a lot of money but I've read it actually works out to just a few bucks per taxpayer. IMO) small price to pay.
