I have also heard one juror was the hold up. #jodiarias

IF there was truly only one juror that was a hold out and wanted off the jury, then why didn't the rest of the jurors let him/her off and get an alt in? Either there were more than two hold outs (because we still had two alts left) or the other jurors did not want to deliberate any more?

Any appeals she has to pay for herself with whatever meager donations she can scrounge up and a lot of her supporters are going to fade away because she no longer faces the death penalty and for a lot of them that was their agenda all along (I'm looking at you MDLR ). She will go the way of Susan Smith. She was the most hated woman in America at that time and now she's just another nobody sitting in prison who nobody cares about. Just like Susan Smith, the only press this killer will get in the future is after she gets caught fraternizing with a guard (I give it a couple of years) or for some other major infraction. The money is going to dry up and no one will be clamoring for 'exclusive' interviews. I feel bad that this wasn't the outcome the Alexander's wanted. I wish them luck in their civil suit against the killer. I also truly hope that the laws will change and there will someday be a Travis' law that prevents the type of victim-bashing we have seen conducted by the killer with the help of her defense team. Lies, innuendo and perjury suborned by a mitigation 'specialist' through anonymous affidavits is the first place to start. They sunk to new depths that I haven't seen since Jose Baez was in action. :banghead:

She gets one free appeal.

Why bother with having the death penalty if your not going to use it, what a waste of money, if she would have received life without parole the first time around, sent to general population, she probably would have gotten the death penalty

I'm so sad for Travis's family, I was so sure that the DP was going to be the verdict,

I always thought they would probably hang. Now if the defendant had been a male I would have been positively sure that a death verdict would be rendered. It wouldn't have taken a second retrial either. But knowing how unequal our justice system is based on gender... of not only the defendant. but the gender of the victim this is not shocking to me at all. It is exactly what I expected.

This second sentencing rule in Az. has worked effectively in the past. Out of four sentencing retrials before this one three ended in the death penalty so anyone saying that it was a waste of time is ignoring that it does work. No DA should shrink back because he/she is trying to put a vile female murderer on death row. This case cried out for the DP and that is why it was one. Juan and the DA made the right call.

The problem here is punishment is delved out to females far differently than male defendants.

And because of that Travis did not get the justice he so richly deserved due to the premeditated heinousness of the murderer. Just do research and it shows adult men are not valued nearly as much by jurors in the criminal justice system if their offender is a female. Just like the horrible injustices we see done to a defenseless murdered child or children if their perpetrator happens to be a female. The scales of justice is tipped so far in favor of female defendants its a wonder it doesn't crash over on its side and break all to pieces.

I have prayed about this more than anything. One day I truly would like to see it really be Justice for ALL and for Lady Justice to really be blind by ignoring the gender of both the victim and the murderer and concentrate solely on the acts. As more and more cases come forward committed by females that end in gender favoritism/biases... I feel now I will never see it change in my lifetime. No one knows how that truly breaks my heart. And it makes me ashamed of our justice system.

All I can hope for is it does change no matter how long it takes society to wakeup to the fact that we are placing more value on some victims and less value on other victims based solely on the gender of their perpetrator.:(

To me today was a perfect example of justice being denied to Travis. I am so sorry Travis.:( It shouldn't have ended this way.

Sounds like JSS told them last night to sleep on it and let her know in the morning

The alternate juror says #JodiArias is a "frightening person" who doesn't deserve to be in general population.

IF there was truly only one juror that was a hold out and wanted off the jury, then why didn't the rest of the jurors let him/her off and get an alt in? Either there were more than two hold outs (because we still had two alts left) or the other jurors did not want to deliberate any more?

They asked to have someone replaced in tbe beginning.
If that person did not want to deliberate and JSS made that person stay...Lord I'llbe modsnipping all over this thread.

Picture on FOX 10 of Jodi in her strips with Troy trying to interview her. She has her face covered with paperwork.

Im not really surprised they hung. I expected it but disappointed. I hate that this has to drag on until April 13th. At least JA wont get an automatic appeal.

The jurors, each of them, did decide. They just didn't decide the same thing.

That's the system. Most states don't get another chance to get a death sentence when the jury hangs. 2 penalty phases, both hung. Millions of $$$ cost.

It's almost too bad DP was even an option...I think it leads to more broken hearts because it just lengthens an already painful journey AND there is no guarantee. This poor family pinned everything on getting a DP sentence. Those are some really poor odds and I feel bad they had that expectation.

At least she was convicted. To me that was the win. Compare that to what the Ron Goldman family had to endure in the OJ murder case.

Unfortunately that is another sorry excuse of Justice..and it shows that people with money are also immune to some degree with justice..I could make a list. My only only only hope now is that the Alexanders since they are religious, I hope they are able to find some peace with this and as hard as it seems for them...forgiveness.
Dont throw stones, but I know forgiveness is a lot harder than being sorry for something trust me I've lived my life forgiving people..I feel like saying OK God..I got that one perfected can we move onto something new now like how to handle riches or something. LOL Sorry if your not religious not trying to offend. Just knowing that the Alexanders are and now they need to move on with life and get peace within themselves.
