I have teenage daughters and I guess I dont see Alexis' behavior as that out there. MY daughters do not act like that but being on social media and seeing some of the girls they go to school with.....sadly its quite normal. I cringe at the provacative pics and language used by girls Ive known since they were small.

It is very normal for girls to make provocative twitter and fb posts.... it's the way of the world today... would say Alexis was "normal" in that regard. I think some might be way overthinking this.

KISS:
1) RAT randomly falls upon Alexis filling up.
2) He somehow tricks her into either coming to his place for weed or to fix her malfunctioning car. (wonder if there are any texts from Alexis).
3) Alexis hair found in RAT's trailer. RAT makes up story to explain hair.
4) Alexis's cell phone found. LE confirms this is a big find and strong evidence against RAT. (Meaning, there are texts or pings or both showing she was going to RATs by herself and/or something other than drugs was going on).
5) Closed door session with judge keeps him in jail. Strong evidence must have been given by LE BEFORE the phone was found.... RATs lawyer immediately clams up and quits talking about his client being held for weak evidence).

Bottom line IMHO, it is what it looks like on the surface.. he abducted and killed her and disposed of her and her cell phone. Wish it was different but it is what it is.

I agree with you. I know some are trying to have hope but everything points to what you posted. Im not convinced on how she got with RAT but I do think he killed and disposed of her.

If you back to one of her first threads here on WS, she had 1000 followers before she went missing.

I noticed that also. Anyone check to see if they looked like real accounts or *advertiser censored* bots? I have a twitter account and have to block several bots each day from following- it would easily be a thousand in a few months if I didn't block them.

IMO, there are only two reasons why the FBI came into this case, within 48 hours, and took control of the multi-agency investigation of this "sensitive" case.

There are 1000s of missing teens across the country and the FBI doesn't swoop down and take control of many of those cases. In addition, the fact that the new Director knows about this one case suggests that they have cast a wide net in a HUGE national investigation.

These are likely the two reasons why the FBI would even get involved in the case of one missing teen.
1. Internet Sex Crimes/Trafficking, involving minors, by gangs or organized crime
2. Serial Killer or gang intiated killings.

The timing around this case, as it relates to the recent sting operations nationwide (sex trafficking and gang activity) as well as the release of media re: familial DNA suggests that this case is likely related to one of the two or even both of the above issues.

I think the FBI came in so quickly because of the huge mess up with the SC case.

I have to disagree, LE all over the country makes big mistakes. This case, if it were only about a small time career criminal asking a County court to dismiss his small time charges and then being accused of an abduction, wouldn't ever involve a Federal investigation. It didn't even go up to the Statewide level.

There is something much bigger going on here then Alexis Murphy and RAT.
IMO.

I agree. Also, he may have killed two young women. JMO I think that alone is "big" enough to bring in FBI.

<Modsnip> I think RAT posed as a cute guy online in social media, got her to fill up with gas and drive up and meet him at the movie theater, and said "I'll pick you up at your car in the huge parking lot. Just hop in my truck! Let's get some food first or I'll just drop you up front at the box office so you don't have to walk!"

She hopped in his truck, leaving her car behind in the parking lot. She realized all too late that he was not who he had pretended to be.

IMOO and 2nd theory. <Modsnip>

I feel that there is no way in hell that a 17-year-old high school athlete who worked a part-time job in a clothing store was also a secret prostitute. To suggest such a theory is baseless and insensitive. I have known one high school girl who worked as a prostitute. Her family was homeless.

Her phone pinged on Cannery Loop which tells me she never made it to Cville. She made it just a few miles past Liberty. She was a phone addict, like most teens, so if she had a chance she would have text or posted on social media.

I was adamant in the beginning that there was no way her car being near relatives didnt mean something but I dont feel that way now. I think it was a crazy coincidence. A local said they had seen him parked in the parking lot of that movies before. And he frequented the sex store nearby.

Attention please

Alexis is a victim here and there is no evidence to show she was involved in any illicit behavior. So don't go there.

I don't think she was either. However, without all the info LE has access, I don't know. I don't want this case to turn into oh, she was a hooker and then lose interest in her case. Even if she was and somehow got tricked into it, she really needs help!
Is there anything that points to prostitution?
Large amounts of cash in twitter/instagram photos is
"gangtsa" mall-culture fad. Meaning it's a fad, like twerking. Doesn't mean she's into underground sex industry.

But was Cannery Loop the LAST place her phone pinged, or just noted to be an area her phone had pinged in reports?

P.s. And my apologies to any one that feels I was insensitive to Alexis's story. I was basing it off of the many comments I read before mine mentioning her borderline pornographic photos and her pictures of weed etc.

I will read up more on her character, which seems to be more solid than asserted by some here. Thanks for the heads up.

Then again I've seen kids who come from all backgrounds getting involved in the social media entertainment business. It's a sad reality I had to pose. It's not just kids from the "ghetto" anymore as that FBI article noted - they are from all socio economic backgrounds. I don't know how many times I can state something as my opinion without others misconstruing it as me undermining the facts and sensitivity of this case.

Im Very sorry.

Would it be possible for a Mod to created a sub category or thread on the 'Sex Trafficking' ideas and theories? I for one think that sex trafficking has NOTHING to do with Alexis' disappearance. I am trying to be open to everyone's opinions but I just don't have the need or want to read through countless pages of possible sex trafficking plots and theories. No offense to anyone, I just feel it is a huge reach and it makes us lose focus on what's important: Finding Alexis.

Back to the reason why the FBI came in so early and so heavily in this case... I think local LE told the FBI that we think we cuaght the Route29 serial killer this time...and since there are so many localities involved, I think this was the glue and manpower to put it all together. The other thing is Alexis is a MINOR... which I would think counts for something too.

I just hope IF RAT did do this and other cases, that it comes out so that all those families can come to some sort of closure. RAT sitting in lots watching people, looks like the modus operandi of a serial killer... IF he is guilty of this crime.

I will have to be convinced that this suspect was a Twitter or other social media follower or "stalker". Nothing to show he even used the internet so far, as far as I know.
