Just a hunch, but I believe RAT changes his appearance quite regularly...even his hair color. It is much darker now than it was in the summer. IMO, he adds tattoos to either cover up defining features or so he won't fit a description.

Oddly enough, IMO, he is a vain man who, I believe, thinks he has swag.

He cant change his appearance too much in county lock up. What we will see is his actual "looks". He's gaining weight due to inactivity and jail food, being sober etc.

Ted Bundy was able to look completely different by a change in facial expressions, hair growth and a turtle neck. Some people have the ability to look different in every aspect with little effort.

o/t but Marilyn Monroe was quoted as having this ability. She would ride nyc subway systems undetected but then turn to someone and say "are you ready to see it?" and then suddenly - without changing anything except her confidence.. people noticed it was her.

RAT sounds to have been on the LE radar for a long time and I think they believe he's the man for man missing persons not just Alexis. I'm starting to think they are trying to get together the ability to bring those missing home.

Isn't there a serial kidnapper / killer on that highway?

BBM -- yes, it's generally believed there's a serial killer/kidnapper/rapist, though I don't think LE has ever admitted it officially.

Not to get too morbid, but would the murder charge without a body require 1) enough blood found that no one could reasonably survive that?, 2) a significant body part found (as in dismembered with obvious cutting trauma to a bone, etc.), 3) RAT seen carrying a plastic bag with a heavy bulky body-like object covered up?, 4) blood in his trailer plus smeary dragged blood in either his car or his the stolen ATV?

thoughts????

There has to be proof of grave bodily damage or omission of guilt. I have a friend who's missing but her ex told LE that he did in fact murder her. He won't give up where she is, still. He's convinced and serving time.

We haven't heard of an omission of guilt, so I'm assuming they found evidence of death (blood and DNA) on his property. I know they found hair but I don't know how much or in what context.

I'm sure if RAT was given the chance he'd blame someone else. Sometimes when I think of him I think of the man in Canada who was a pig farmer.

A guy in MA or maybe NH was convicted without a body because three other people testified they had seen blood dripping from the back of his truck as he drove away, and testing of the drops in the driveway proved it matched the victim.

I agree Just K. For some reason due to RAT's own lifestyle, I think he was involved in some pretty seedy business, possibly making & selling *advertiser censored* or more. Mostly due to the charge of abduction with intent to defile. Chills on what all that could be & evidence of it. He did shop at the Ultimate Bliss *advertiser censored* shop, per LE.

When this all began, I wondered if making/distributing snuff *advertiser censored* was involved in such a complete disappearance. That "intent to defile" makes me wonder if that is an option.

Not all the time/ From what I understand he was being watched at one point in another case. So I cant say if the feds was watching him to, but it is very possible.

Maybe they was just waiting for him to act again, this is what it looks like. Very interesting from a law perspective. They have something,

Actually, no, "innocent until proven guilty" means the prosecutor has to prove the case against the accused, and third-party-culprit is a defense that often appeals to jurors if LE hasn't thoroughly checked out the other person who might be guilty.

You're right about federal prosecutors but I didn't see any federal charges in that list. I thought they were all state charges. Did I miss something?

state / federal. Not to be confused with us federal government. sorry about that (lol)

Actually its the opposite, the defense has to prove he is not guilty. The prosecutor don't have to prove much beyond he broke the law. The defense has to create doubt of the facts . The prosecutor is stating the facts and no doubt.

the charges are already pending on you per say, the defense has to create doubt that they are false., The state doesn't have to do much but prove you did it and this why you was charged. No doubt

Your innocent within doubt of guilt of the crime. Which mean you have to beat those charges with in doubt of the law in a scernario or hard proof. Because your already charged with the crime.

I understand that point of view, but in court its the opposite " innocent until proven guilty". This is why a lot people say "I was railroaded". Because the defense couldn't get enough doubt"evidence" to get them off. The state didn't prove much all they did was process the papers with word of the police officers witness and send them away.

One thing that I see that's very very odd is how he changed his appearance. He looks way younger. Look at his face, it has nothing to do with eating.

He look like he cracking a smile of sorts. Some people in law area like to call this "criminal swagger". Its fun to him, he's enjoying it

I just looked at that photo again and I think he is just dying to talk to the press. I bet it's killing him that he can't. He's such a manipulator, or tries to be.

I followed Alexis' case from the beginning...

but have only been recently popping in to check on the status of her case...

Thank you to all of you that are keeping this thread "alive"... :tyou:

I have on my WS calendar that RAT's next court hearing is today, January 9, 2014, at 10:00 a.m....

Is this still a go?

Or am I off completely?

TIA...:seeya:

No, with the new charges they are foregoing the January court date and the new trial is slated to begin May 1st. My earlier posting gives an article with all the new information. Hope that helps!!
I, too, have been following this from the beginning (though mostly as a guest until i decided to join) and I am anxious for some answers. I feel so badly for her family. They have basically resigned to the fact that she is no longer alive. I cannot imagine what they are going through. :(

I think that may be almost giving him too much "credit", almost. I don't believe he does anything other than stalk and attack, when the opportunity comes along, maybe a little "chat" first to put victim off guard. Also the word "defile" is/has been used for sexual crimes, more so in "olden times" and against minors, I believe. JMO

Thank you so much, Bredavis!

Glad to have you on board!

"Intent to defile" is old-fashioned language for he meant to rape her.

WOW! That makes it even more interesting! I wonder if he had a ED problem! Poor Alexis, I just hope she didn't/doesn't suffer!

I'm not disputing your thought but I wonder how they could even prove something like that?

I don't think that's what it means lol, but that did pop in my mind before I thought about the way the statute reads.

I think what it means is that there was a sexual motive, that ties in with the abduction and murder. I hope that I worded that so it's understandable.
