@Inspector,
Thank you so much for doing all that research and posting it here. I still think Morrie et al have played some part in poor Amber's demise. And obviously that connects him to the other girls whose remains were found in burlap on the beach. I can't let it go. It's too much of a coincidence for me.

also, one of those guys screennames was the name of an italian motorcycle. Italyrider I think. Don't they have motorcycle rallys over there in that area where the girls remains were found?

Maureen had checked out of her room, yes. Maureen didn't leave her phone behind, though. She had it with her. It pinged to a tower on LI (as did Mellissa's).

Megan is the girl caught on video tape leaving the hotel in Hauppague.

Hope that helps. :)

I am not sure that Maureen had checked out of her room since her belongings were still there according to articles quoting LE. Do we have any links supporting this. All I have found are comments by PB arguing that she had checked out.

According to MSM reports, Morrie says "A friend of ours told me today that 'You won't hear from those 2 girls anymore!"

When Morrie uses the words "a friend of ours", he must mean someone from their group, website, etc. Someone everyone knows, but Morrie leaves out his name for obvious reasons.

What "friend of ours" is Morrie possibly talking about?

Based on my research of UtopiaGuide threads, which I can't link to here, Morrie is the owner of LongIslandErotic.com (the site where the threat against Amber was initially made) as well as a member of a group called the CCC. This group also includes these members:

- teps
- lightweight
- wolf
- billyS
- magicfingersny

One member of the CCC claims that the group regularly uses "backchannels" to communicate with each other outside of the main bulletin boards. My research suggests that this is an e-mail distribution list and Private Messaging through LongIslandErotic.com

They meet up to visit strip clubs, particularly on the Edison Strip in West Babylon, and they review their experiences with different "providers".

They post publicly on the UG boards to share their experiences with non-group members, but it seems much of their communication is over e-mail and private message.

One of their group members, magicfingersny, was kicked out of the CCC group in late 2008. MagicFingersNY claimed that someone from another board (presumably LongIslandErotic.com) had been making physical threats against him, which he claimed "were prosecutable".

Apparently he had been kicked out for a lack of discretion, like calling CCC members at home, work, etc. There was also something going on related specifically to "Morrie's girl".

On January 15, 2010, someone from UtopiaGuide reported that the Suffolk County Police Department had informed them that magicfingersny had died. No cause of death or link was provided.

I researched Suffolk County police news for the days preceding the 15th, and all I found was an unsolved murder of a 44 year old man on January 13, 2010 in North Amityville. Apparently someone shot 3 men in a parking lot, leaving 1 dead and 2 with gun shot wounds. At this point, I have no way of verifying if this victim was magicfingers. It could be totally unrelated, but it seems to me unlikely that SCPD would contact a fellow UtopiaGuide poster if that person wasn't in their immediate family and inform them of a person's death (i.e., overdose, etc.). It seems more likely that there was some type of investigation going on, perhaps that involved police contacting numbers from the victims phone, etc., and that's how this UtopiaGuide poster came to learn about the death of MagicFingersNY.

I found a cached ug post stating (loosely translated) magic was in his 70s, had hypertension and took meds for depression. I don't know how true any of this might be. Even if it is, I don't think it rules out morrie & crew (just might rule out old magic tho?)

Correct me if I am wrong because I haven't caught up on this angle at all but
I thought someone on the board said he had died because he had health issues?

It is not outside the realm of possibility that one or more of the people we have discussed, as a possible POI, is a member of one or many of those message boards. This killer or responsible party/parties likely does/do visit these types of sites (LIerotica, UG, etc.)

I did see that some posters had discussed Magic's health issues, and I just found the reference to his possible age, but the poster didn't seem to know for sure. This guy Magic could have absolutely nothing to do with anything, and the 1/13/10 murder in Amityville could have nothing to do with Magic. Maybe someone can help find some other information about who the SCPD found dead on 1/15/10 or just prior, and what the circumstances of death were?

It just seemed notable that 2 people associated with Morrie that had issues with Morrie turned up dead. It also seemed notable that the SCPD would directly inform a UG member of his death.

For me, the real angle here is who informed Morrie that "noone would hear from" Amber anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong too, but are you are basing your theory on the assumption that all these guys using the name Morrie on different forums are one and the same person?

What did you think was interesting? I thought it was kinda interesting that he said " her" cell phone when he had already claimed it was his...maybe hes just feeling bad because he didnt want her to take his cell phone..he seems like hes leaving something out though...
What are your thoughts about it?

I do think this guy is leaving out a part of the story. Maybe he followed Amber just far enough to see the vehicle she got into. He knows more, IMO. The question is, did he tell LE all he knew? I rather doubt it.

I saw a video where he was profusly sweating, and seemingly really nervous. He can say he wasn't Amber's pimp, but I feel certain he was something of the sort.

His story was disjointed. That in itself is an indicator he wasn't telling all he knew, or wasn't being 100% truthful. I don't buy into what this guy is saying. Not one little bit. He knows more.

MOO

Well, at some point his phone, which Amber supposedly left in his possession per his report, had a record of all of the calls to Amber on the day she disappeared. A ping search of the phone number that called 3x, even if it was a burner, would have at least given LE a map of the client's route...leading up to Amber leaving with him.

I am not sure that Maureen had checked out of her room since her belongings were still there according to articles quoting LE. Do we have any links supporting this. All I have found are comments by PB arguing that she had checked out.

According to Mel, Maureen had indeed checked out of her room, and was looking for a ride home. Where did you read that her belongings were found in her hotel room, Redbird?

ETA: I don't want to post information that was shared with me privately unless Mel has already put it out here on forum...so perhaps Mel can comment on this in more depth. If not, I'll have to let it drop. (Biting tongue clean in half.) ;)

Also...just realized this is the thread for Amber. Sorry for the derailment, folks.

Morrie is only a member of LongIslandErotic.com. He is not a poster on UG. His pals, lightweight, teps, magicfingersny and billyS, are all members of both UG and LongIslandErotic.com and post under those usernames on both sites. There is only one "Morrie".

I'm double posting this here because it is specific to the threat against ALC by the members of LIErotica.

Whether it is related or not, remember also that DS said that Amber had once been roughed up and left by the side of one of the Highways. IIRC, that event occurred sometime in the three months before she was ultimately abducted and murdered.

Would be interesting to see how closely that episode coincides with that of the LIerotica "bat" incident and the comment by Morrie. Did the members "friend" catch up with her and deliver a message?.

Even if Morrie and his buddies aren't directly related to killing the GB4, their "friend" may be more twisted then they ever realized or imagined.

I'm not sure its related. Based on this article, I don't see a date for her being left on SSP:

Someone help me out here, the Newsday article says that the man who called ALC offered $450 for 2 hours....

"The client would pay $450 for two hours or $1,500 if she spent the night with him."

I may be wrong but I feel like that is the exact amount that JB offered SG for 2 hours isn't it?

As far as I know the only info on what amount of money SG was offered by JB is in the interview with the driver M Pak, which is in one of the LISK TV programs, can´t remember which one it is though.

I watched the (first) 48 Hours episode again but didn't catch any mention of a specific monetary amt agreed upon between Gilbert/Pak/Brewer, although I too think Pak did mention it somewhere/sometime.

And, reading JustK's post...

I remembered that early on (when I first became intrigued by this case) I was convinced these phone records held vital clues. And guess what, I still feel the same now! Where are these records?? Do you think LE is REALLY doing anything towards solving this case? Anything at all?? (How about a poll?) I very seriously doubt it. Sometimes frustration gets the better of me... this is one of those times. :banghead:
