I don't know if meltruth has an inside source in the PD or in the DA's office, but meltruth does seem to know a lot more about Maureen Brainard-Barnes than any of us ever will. MOO.

Meltruth has not told us that after being lured into prostitution by a group of working girls that Maureen became part of that group. She has said Maureen was working independently. To me that means she was not part of a group.

I posted the same on another thread earlier. I don't know if soliciting on the web made her meeting up with a trafficker inevitable, but I'd wager the odds were pretty good it would happen sooner or later. Her friend said she called in distress and said she'd been robbed of the money she made that day. We don't know her exact words, but it's possible what she really meant is that the person she met that day wouldn't give her the money she'd earned. Being independent minded, did she return to demand her money?

I can't post addresses here. She lived with me in Groton Ct. It was 2 months after she had her second child in March. She lived with me for about 6 months. Than that is when she moved to Norwich CT. Around November 2006. Maureen would always come over my house after she moved and we would go to hers also. I don't think there was a day we did not see or talk to each other. My brother, my sister and I was really close.

Meltruth may I ask; you said thatMaureen lived with you in 2006, but when did Maureen then move out from your place and into her own apartment? and what was the address she moved into when she left your place?

• Did she have an account with Craigslist in her own personal name that she used her own credit card to pay for?
• Did anyone else help her upload her ads?
• Did she use a laptop to upload the photos and update her ads?
• What happened to her laptop? Do the police have it?
• Did she have a smartphone that she could have utilized to access the internet to update her ads?
• Speaking of cell phones, did she have more than one?
• What happened when you tried calling her cell phone(s) when she went missing? Did the calls go directly to voicemail (or did her phone ring a few times indicating that her cell phone was still on)?

The weekend she disappeared, Maureen had taken the train into the city with friends, but she left them once she got to Manhattan. Cann says her sister usually worked from a hotel room and never saw johns at their places. Maureen was adamant about working only in Manhattan and never said anything to Cann about working in Long Island. At one point that weekend, Maureen called a friend from the Port Authority and said she&#8217;d been robbed of all the money she&#8217;d earned. She needed a ride home, but the friend couldn&#8217;t come get her. After that call, no one heard from Maureen again. Unfortunately, I can not answer some of those questions for you cause it is part of the investigation. I am sorry. Maureen did not have a computer. So for the Norwich Police department to say they went down to NYC and got her lap top is wrong they did not even really investigate her missing.Sad to say but it is so true. In the matter of how she posted I can't say too much about that but she posted before she left CT to go to Ny that weekend. Other than that I can not say much about it. It took them 2 1/2 years to put here in Namus. Maureen only had one cell phone. The first few times I called her it would ring and ring than go to voice mail where we could leave messages. Within a week her voice-mail got filled up by us calling and leaving messages. Than it would ring and than say voice mail is full good bye. Than shortly after that it got turned off and it would not ring.

Sorry for the confusing. The family was told in 2008 that the phone was used. But it was a few weeks after she went missing is when it was used.

I believe the police has not gotten enough credit on this case and has been criticized for nothing. Please remember this case is not a easy as everyone thinks. I know it is amazing how much they get wrong on this case. I guess int he beginning of this case none of my family was talking to the media. I mean who wants to talk to media when they jsut found out someone they loved so much was murdered.They went around asking people who did not know us nor my sister. Now I don't go by what media says anymore if it is not directly a comment from the family.
