The second and fourth images show the best comparison IMO. Also note how totally straight his back is in third image.

Yep, and there a hump near his neck, something is bothering me about that 3rd pic too.. I'm just loading up photoshop to have a closer look and a tinker about

I think LE knows who he is. There will be good reasons, I bet, when they announce the situation and what was going on.

I live in the area and most people are saying based off the scanner that they do know who he is because one of the victims was his girlfriend. Having said that, yes it's a small town, but that mall gets patrons from Canada (many many Canadians), the Olympic Peninsula, and the San Juan Islands. I can't think of any store in that mall which would sell weapons, Champs included as I've been there several times. The gunman entered the mall (not sure if it was macys or the mall itself) unarmed, left, then came back 10 minutes later with the gun and opened fire. More than likely this person is local but you never know. He looks young, and hunting is very popular here so it's not unusual for someone to have a rifle in the back of their vehicle.Or for a kid (he looks young) to take a hunting rifle from their parents. I hope they find him by the end of the day. We are close to Canada and about an hour from Seattle so it's easy to go to Vancouver or Seattle and blend right in. I hope they find him soon! People are terrified!

Thank you for sharing this with us, Mrs. SlickRick. And welcome to WS! :welcome6:

In the 3rd image, it looks like he is carrying the rifle openly. Was this from a later time than the 1st 2 frames? I think frames 1 & 2 are from when he first entered the mall, without the rifle, and frames 3 & 4 from a later time when he returned. Am I missing something?

I know some have said he looks around 13 years old. But I would guess 18-22.

I can't believe they haven't found him yet. I mean, at the very least...they must know who he is by now, right?!

I definitely don't think he looks like a 13 year old. 18-22 sounds about right.

Gee another young man with access to guns mass murdering people. It's almost as common as another hot-button issue in the news!

Gun culture. Ugh.

Sad to say, you are probably right. :sigh: It is most likely his girlfriend and he took others out because he could.

I think Sillybilly was going to try to find a link where it says he left and came back. AFAIK he didn't leave and return.

ITA. They are calling the teenage girl, whom I suspect was his GF, a woman and that usually means she is at least 18. So, it's likely that the perp is also at least 18. I think his slight build makes him look even younger.

It's in the press release. It says he was caught on camera unarmed then reappeared armed. I suppose he could have been hiding it in the first picture. But that's a very large thing to hide. Especially for 10 minutes.
