Mistree,

Excellent read! The www.fbi.gov site, is a definite "go to" for trustworthy information. Thank you for sharing this very informative article.

You are very welcome. Question, does it change or add to any theories you have? Did the article bring more clarity that can be applied to CD's case?

This article provided the following useful statistical data:

"36 .1% of the cases they were found fully dressed"

Information which confirms, discovery of a fully clothed body, is not an unusual occurrence.

I personally don't think this is a serial killer.
I think it is someone Cheryl knew somehow, whether an acquaintance or friend.
It was personal. They wanted Cheryl.

IMOO.

Hopefully More Information will be released soon, then maybe we can get some agreement on what happened to Cheryl.
So far, there are posters that feel:
that Cheryl was killed by an acquaintance, friend, someone she knew.
Cheryl was the victim of a serial killer.
Cheryl was murdered.
Cheryl committed suicide.

IMOO.

I believe the police know who/how this happened, remember Pikard stated they want closure also…after all testing is completed. Looking at computer records is classified as forensic testing also.

I still wonder about her wedding ring.
Was she wearing it when she was found?

I wonder what items of Cheryl's were missing, other than her phone and credit cards, her purse.
I wonder what items they found?

I wonder about the one item that was found that was said to have been "helpful".

IMOO.

I'm

Seems like someone took the first
Seems to me that whoever did this needed to be somewhere, probably for an alibi. The killer is probably someone who couldn't be gone for several hours at the same time CD went missing--they'd be an instant suspect. They needed to get rid of the body, clean up, and get to where they were supposed to be as quickly as possible.

I'd be looking at someone in her immediate circle: work, "friends," etc.

Obviously, total speculation based on limited info. But I do think the place the body was found only makes sense if they wanted to get rid of it quickly.

Yes, the "places to be" argument makes perfect sense. Time to hide, but not enough to do a thorough job of it.

Agreed, for many reasons, not the least of which is, it would be pretty ballsy..(can I say that?) for LE to even insinuate that the public was safe in the aftermath of her death.

I've been following this case from the beginning but I'm sure I've missed some posts & apologize if this has already been discussed:

Has accidental death from a fall above the culvert been ruled out? I know there aren't any (non-self afliccted) injuries apparent that we know of, but it's not unheard of for INTERNAL head trauma to be fatal. If she fell from atop the culvert, say while sitting on or boosting herself up to sit on the railing above the culvert, the fall could have been quite violent. Her phone could have hit the rocks or water just as she did and gone out also.

That still doesn't explain how she ended up inside the culvert itself or why her phone wasn't there next to her. The phone could have flown wide out of her hand during the fall, but would be unlikely to become disabled so immediately.

Could one of the reported homeless population have seen this accident happening, rushed down to help, but then decided to grab the phone & hurriedly pull Cheryl partially into the culvert pipe to conceal her instead?

Or could a mentally ill person have pushed her off deliberately and run off with the phone?

And all the other stuff- forgetting her badge, blood found inside the car etc- was just the universe unfortunately conspiring to take this good woman way too soon?

The culvert is over a mile in the opposite direction in which Cheryl would have been traveling, and not in the way to anything relevant to her work routine. And if she had traveled that way, I can't imagine why she would have exited the car - it is not a pedestrian friendly stretch of road. Also. I don't think that's an area where the homeless or others hang out - though I could be wrong.

1. Leave FB rumors on FB.
2. The car pool driver has not been named a POI so no sleuthing that individual.
3. stryker57 is in the process of being verified.
4. Address all concerns re the verification process to an administrator. Do not take over Cheryl's thread with it.
Any other questions, please do not hesitate to message a mod.
Thank you.

Eric, I'm sorry or your loss. I live just on the border of Brier/Lynnwood. We almost bought a house on the other side of Terrace Park (near the disc golf). This case has messed with me emotionally.

In a day to day capacity, I work with a lot of FHCRC/SCCA employees. The thought that your mother was just following her normal routine, and something horrible struck shook me to my core. I'm not a sensationalist. I just see the photos and the posts about her and I know that she was just a normal happy loved everyday lady. Like many of us are.

I ache for the loss that you suffered. I would fall apart if something happened to one of my babies. And though I've suffered many losses in my life, I've never had to lose someone so close.

I'm sorry if any of us have said anything to offend you or upset you. In a way we are just working through our own grieving process. Talking it out, so we can make sense (if that's even possible) of the crime that was committed. Ive never been to a site like this before, but I knew I needed to be a part of a conversation, to help me grasp such an act.

No matter what happened to your mom, I hope you take comfort in the fact that she was so loved, even by complete strangers. I mourn your loss, and hope that you one day feel closure on this case.

God bless you and your family.

Seatowner, I want to say thanks for your heartfelt and touching comments.

Alrighty then .... Was curious if the water in the culvert ran from West to east. my understanding is that CD was found on the east side of the culvert. Looking at the intersection, it appears to me that if the perp was driving from the transit center, west down 236th then south on Cedar, they could pull over just around the corner of 244th and remove the body in 5 seconds into the culvert. Then keep driving west and back to I5. This would only make sense if the water moved the body east to the other side of the road. Pulling over there (west side), you would be 2 feet from the culvert with the passenger door away from traffic. Pulling over on the east side, you would either have to jump the curb, or park 15-20' away.

This will probably tell you what you want to know.

I know but who were the people in that particular group who made the suggestion/found her?

The thoughts & opinions stated above are that, MY random thoughts & opinions.

This particular area was searched as part of an ever expanding grid search. Fred Hutch employees who have a background in statistical research and programming are very meticulous. The week leading up to the discovery of my moms body her coworkers organizing the search were methodically checking off all the areas that had been searched on maps, and continued expanding the search area. Groups were searching wooded areas and trails for any signs. Cell phone, credit cards etc... None of us really anticipated we would be finding a body. Especially so close to home. We were looking more for any clues.

Welcome aboard, Stryker57, although it saddens me that you're joining due to such tragic circumstances. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. The bolded part in your last post just sickens me to my stomach. I am so sorry you're all going through this.

Many of us here were in awe of how thoroughly the search for Cheryl was organized and carried out. That was one group of people who were totally on top of things. I'm hoping that all your questions will very soon be answered. And thanks for being so understanding of the nature of WS and the discussions that take place here.
