So if I understand this correctly CD must have realized while driving that she didn't have her badge so she turned right at 58th W in order to have a place to text before turning around. She stopped in the 23400 block of 58th W but she didn't intend to stay there or meet anyone she knew. Couldn't have happened? Although it was her intent to drive home she never left the location on 58th W.

Does that seem accurate? And just out of curiosity what time did the park and ride lot fill up? I'm wondering if she drove two blocks north because she couldn't find closer parking on 58th W.
lol - exactly what I posted 2 pages ago:

I don't think lava meant "turning around" literally. Just that CD would have turned right onto 58th and gone through that neighborhood to start winding her way through the streets to get back home.

To me that says that Cheryl suddenly realized "Crap! I forgot my badge again!" (didn't even have to look to know that) and so she knew she'd return home to get it. She would have turned right on 58th and pulled over pretty much as soon as she could to text her carpool friend. And from there...I just don't know why she didn't put the car into "drive" and keep heading towards home.

In this scenario, I just don't see a single reason for her to think she'd be stopped any longer than to just send a text.

Again, it was pretty dark outside at that time of morning, and overcast to boot, so I have to surmise that whoever hurt Cheryl came at her in a surprising way. That leads me to think that it wasn't someone she knew because they would have had no reason to think she wouldn't be heading directly to the park-n-ride lot. The most logical thing is that she pulled over to text and a stranger engaged her, or she engaged with a stranger.

just curious have they said what the hubby did for a living ?

Hi Can you explain what an insider is?
By sheer coincidence, I just happened to come across this explanation I posted one year ago.

A "verified insider" is an individual with first hand knowledge of the facts -- or some portion of the facts -- in a case. A VI can be a family member, friend, classmate, employer, private investigator, or anyone else acquainted with a victim, suspect, or a close family member.

Being "verified" means that an admin or owner has confirmed the member's identity and relationship to a case. (Not everyone who claims to be an insider makes it through the verification process.)

As a VI, one is allowed to post without providing MSM links to back up "facts". How much weight to give the information is up to you. Use your best judgment, and give it as much weight as you deem it's worth.

Mrs. DeBoer did not walk a mile and a half to the culvert, climb into it to commit suicide or die of natural causes.

She was murdered and her body was left there. Of this I am 100% certain.

As an aside but something that may be important one day to someone:

My very brilliant, very beautiful, step-daughter - an emergency room physician and infectious disease specialist - sat in her unlocked car at 3pm after a hair appointment, oblivious to everything around her as she fiddled with her dang phone. Some predator came from nowhere and got into the passenger seat of her car. He tried to grab her but she managed to escape his grip, get out of the car and scream loud enough to draw attention and he fled. It could have been a horror story. I wanted to shake her for being so foolish and risking her life sitting in an unlocked car, fooling around with a stupid phone and being unaware of her surroundings!

Mrs. DeBoer was also brilliant and beautiful, may have been distracted with that dang phone and unbeknownst to her, was being watched by a predator or predators. They look for vulnerable victims and women, alone and staring at a phone screen, texting with both thumbs is as vulnerable as a predator needs for a successful attack.

Please - don't make yourselves easy pickings. You never know who is watching your every move. Get in the car and drive away, don't sit there with a bullseye on you.
I have a terrible bad habit of this and had a scary situation last Saturday night where someone hid behind a pillar two feet from my car while I was texting. Thanks for the reminder.

Or if it didn't happen to her there, someone else knew she typically would have left from the park and ride and that her car ending up closer to there might delay suspicion than if it turned up elsewhere and at that point there was nowhere closer to put it?

They've said he works at a construction company, but not the position he held or the name of the business.

One of the press conferences begins with the niece thanking Fred Hutch and the construction company by name.

Question: Did Cheryl make it a point of keeping her doors locked in her car? That could be a big help here.

I drive my kids crazy, but they would know, without a doubt, that I had them locked.

This map shows various waterways in the area. We can see that there are several options, so the question is: why was that particular culvert selected?

Assuming that Cheryl realized that she had forgotten her badge between 7:00AM and 7:02AM (time of text), why was her car found several blocks away from the Park and Ride? If she decided to pull over to send a text, why did she turn North, and why is her car parked North of 234 Street, when 235 or 234 are the better choice to easily loop back to 236 Street and retrieve her badge from home?

Is it possible that she arrived at the Park and Ride, that is where she pulled over to text the carpool at 7:02AM, and mid-text someone entered her vehicle? Is it possible that her vehicle was used to transport her to the culvert, and that the vehicle was left in the general area where it should be later in the day?

I don't know about everyone else, but at this point it is very easy for me to believe that the crime was random and started as obviously as it would appear. Occam's Razor-like. (When I first heard about the circumstances it sounded to me like it was possibly staged by someone who knew her well, but for a few reasons it seems that is not that case at all.) So...

-Cheryl parks on 58th as she sometimes does.

-Before, after or while exiting her car, she realizes she didn't have her badge, so texts her friends.

-Distracted, alone and in the dim light of the morning she is in a vulnerable position and someone(s) strikes.

That part I can follow. Where it gets strange is that she was taken somewhere instead of just left in the cover of the park or in her car. Why?
And if they took her in her own car, why return it to 58th? There was blood in it so it's not as if it would appear as if everything was normal and she hopped on a bus or something.

That's the part I don't get. (Not that any part of murdering a lovely woman makes sense.) [emoji21]

ETA: just thinking further, it might have been a snap decision by the perps to remove her from the scene before any other commuters showed up. So they didn't want risk carrying her to the park or to another car.

So they keep her in the car and take her to the culvert where they can dispose of her body with some coverage. (Locals maybe.) with the MLT sign, parking space off the street and the dim light, it would be low-risk.

Guess they returned the car to 58th so that it would slow people down in locating the body.

I guess that all tracks?

Yes, then maybe THEY hopped on a bus...From the transit center to go north or south when you're behaving badly gets you out of the area pronto!

Yes, then maybe THEY hopped on a bus...

Yeah, true. Maybe they wanted to get back to the park and ride. Maybe that was even their original destination.

If the perp(s) did hop on a bus, their photos were captured on transit center surveillance, and individual bus surveillance systems...

Maybe someone needed Cheryl's car.

Where did Cheryl meet the carpool? If she met them at the Park and Ride, the location where her car was found doesn't make sense to me. It's not at a good location for walking to the parking lot, and it's not at a logical location for turning around to retrieve the badge from home.

Imo, it's actually the most logical place to turn around to retrieve the badge from home. It's the last road before the P&R to do so, she would turn north because she wouldn't want to wait to cross traffic on the busy 236th.

If Cheryl died in her car there should be definitive evidence. For instance, once dead the body has no control over bladder or bowel.

I am thinking if the cameras picked the car up heading in the direction of the Park N Ride then they would have also picked the
car up heading out? Just seems that something went wrong where the car was found. I do not believe the car went any further. She had to have been transported to the culvert. Although Otto, you could be right.
