Where were her keys found? In car on seat? In ignition? On her person? Around her? Elsewhere? What about stomach contents? Do we know what she ate the night before or the morning of 2/8? Was this c/w what ME found? Just wondering if it's possible she was somewhere for a day or more before being found.

What does c/w mean?

Read a bit more....it's been cleared up that keys were NOT found.

Why keep posting the same opinions dozens of times without any new thoughts or facts added? And, if you're here to help such cases, why also post the same opinions repetitively on news stories on MSM sites?

Not productive. In my opinion.
Maybe not to you, but this is a stressful situation for some, and if this is a way for Eileen730 to deal with personal stress surrounding this case, just bypass certain posts.

It is against TOS to tell others how to post.

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A REPLY TO ANZAC: I think the majority of us here know that TV crime dramas are just fun TV watching. My comment was made in jest. However, I have learned quite a bit about keeping myself safe and trusting my gut after reading Anne Rule true crime books. I seem to have a sixth sense about people anyway, and common sense (don't park next to vans when I'm alone, and the like). That being said, I am bored out of my gourd with Nancy Grace types and crime-specific channels.
I enjoy reading your posts, ANZAC. You definitely know your stuff and have an inside track. I am on one hand fascinated immensely and have a bit of a morbid fascination at that with crime, but if I had to be up close or be a victim, I would be beside myself. Like last night, I was shopping and was 5 minutes away from CD's culvert. It would be so easy for me to drive over and take a look, but there's no way in HECK I would ever do that. I'd rather just read about it and discuss it, and hopefully see it to a SOLID conclusion. That's what's so frustrating here. The not knowing.

Thanks. To be clear I don't have any inside info on this case (I was with some LE people who had worked on forensics yesterday and had to fight the urge to ask). I just decided to post here because I saw the homicide theories going pretty wild and early on I saw a lot of indications that said suicide to me. The evidence seems to back that up more but I will also say stranger things have happened and hopefully all the forensics will be finished soon and there will be some answers.

One tough thing is that with many suicides "why" is never answered. Everyone here should be prepared for that if it is ruled a suicide.

As long as people stay safe, there's no harm in the public searching along any theorized route after the police search of the area has concluded. Even if you touched something you found (which is not ideal) they'll just do elimination prints/swabs. If anyone finds anything (we're talking wallet and phone) just make sure you take a wide and closeup shot of the location first, then call 911 and say non-emergency.

One thing I should also mention is: discard cell phones are EVERYWHERE, if you find something, no guarantee it is hers. We had a search for a knife once and found 5 phones in about 50 yards of freeway edge.

Finding the phone and wallet along a secluded (creek) route to the culvert would tend to support suicide IMO.
In fact, the phone being turned off (a murderer wouldn't go to the trouble of turning it off, they'd just throw it away) does support suicide because it is a very deliberate act to obscure her trail, and right after the text too IIRC.

I don't know if any of the news videos showed the searches in progress but I'd wager they concentrated on the body site and the car site, and the most likely route between. I think that if maybe she was looking for somewhere secluded should may have head more easterly and spent more time along the creek. I don't know how far you can walk close to the creek but worth a good expanded search along it (north from body site).

Feel like organizing something? I have nothing better to do on a Saturday than dig around in ditches and bramble :)

I dont think I saw this information but if it is out there please let me know.

I would like to know the color or type of wallet she had? What type of phone she had, the color?

Thanks!

Gotcha. Took your advice and re-read and cleared that up for me. So now I have another question: is it common for a suicidal person to hide car keys, ID and phone? More so if the person didn't leave a note? Was Cheryl sentimental? Was she a card sender? Did she keep a diary? Keep track of purchases, or was a list maker? I'm going on a limb here, but it seems like a woman might be more inclined to leave a note? Perhaps a more sentimental woman? Am I mistaken that she has a new grandchild or one is on it's way? Unfortunately, we had an ex neighbor who was a male with history of depression and committed suicide 2 months before the birth of his first grandchild. I'm still heavily on the fence re: murder or suicide.

Lets clear a few things up:
Life insurance policy nowhere near $1,000,000 (They owe money on nothing)

Single Razor Blade; What you would use to clean off ceramic glass top oven which my mom did often. I could see her stick it in her coat pocket and just forget. She would be the type of person that could pull out mutliple things out of her pocket and not even know what she had.

Take out bag was not from her favorite restaurant/fast food. I am sure it was on rare occasion that she would frequent this place.

For myself, I can't absolutely rule out suicide, or homicide, but I can for sure rule out accident (I don't understand how accident can even be mentioned).

Only way this could be suicide is if she had some mental break over the weekend or Monday morning. According to my father everything was normal over the weekend. None of the family has a clue of how blood could be on the passenger side.

Stryker, I completely understand if you don't want to answer questions, but if you are open to it, I am wondering if the restaurant bag was from a place either local to Mountlake Terrace or near Hutch. I am sure there is a question as to whether the bag was in the car or picked up at (or on the way to) the creek.

Do we have any other family or co-workers that sometimes come here besides the son and the cat breeder? Are there any co-workers or neighbors or family members that come here. Would love to hear more about CD the person and her relationships. This doesn't seem to be a crime of passion as those are usually messy and the person is overkilled. Why is it taking so darn long to look into her computers? Remember when that horrendous sperm donor left his little son in a car to overheat and die? They were able to get into his computer within days? What's the hang-up here? No matter the bag on her head or the freshwater drowning, I want to know what the heck happened to her phone and ID. I don't believe she would go to great lengths to hide these. I think there are perpetrators who like trophies. Like in a movie where the LE walks into the perps dark dank room and there's a collection of driver's licenses on the wall, or a drawer full of phones, etc. I still can't wrap my head around this lady taking her own life, in the manner(s) suggested. IMO.

I wish I were living closer, I would like to be part of a search. If a suicide scenario is to be believed those possessions must be along the route:
Wallet,
Keys,
Phone
(and I thought perhaps lightweight coat of a different color to deter witnesses)

As I've mentioned above, Monday Feb 8 was a non-trash-collection day but of course there are often large dumpsters next to commercial buildings and apartments etc (and only a landfill search will turn up something that ended up in those).
I think the best bet would under hedges or over the back fences of properties with a lot of vegetation. I would guess the path of Lyon creek has been well-searched already both upstream and downstream of the culvert.

I wonder if Cheryl's shoes were consistent with the kind of shoes she would wear to work, as opposed to hiking boots, tennis shoes, etc. The reason I ask that, if she knew she was going to walk to the culvert would she wear a low heel, no heel shoe, something easy to walk a mile and a half? Would it be a shoe she normally would not wear to work?

IMOO.

RE: Release of Cheryl's personal information

In my personal opinion, and I have zero connection to this case, other than being a local... Intimate aspects of Cheryl's life, the majority of which define her legacy, should remain private.

Unless family, and LE deem release of such information crucial to solving this case... I believe we should all come together and protect the sanctity of the memories which belong exclusively to Cheryl's family and friends.

Or the bag was trash already in the creek or culvert. I believe the bag could have gotten caught on Cheryl simply from proximity and water flow.

Or maybe the bag is from the murderer's car, used with chloroform or something to subdue Cheryl. Any acquaintances who frequent said restaurant?

Thank you, stryker57, for your commitment to your mom. I appreciate you being here to clarify issues and information, but realize how awful it must be. I'm so sorry.
