It's possible that a person would have "no history of mental illness" if he or she had never sought professional help.

Has anyone found CD's purse or phone yet? A savvy criminal will locate and power off a phone right away so the victim and perpetrator will not be found or tracked. I remember when Christian Aguilar's killer, Pedro Bravo, powered down his phone and Christian's so that tracking them would be impossible. Thankfully, he powered on his night light in order to perform the burial. I really think that the cell and purse should be located before reaching a conclusion. And who slices fingers with a razor in order to choose a suicide method? Many attempted suicides I've seen have tried a wrist cut first and then ruled it out or performed it the wrong way. However, trying to pick up and hide a razor in one's pocket in an attempt to defend oneself may result in cuts to finger tips.

Furthermore, a plastic take out restaurant bag that CD frequented may also be ubiquitous in her area. (Any number of people may have one).

Couple different things Stryker (her son) has said---She only carries a wallet (not found, nor phone) and the bag was not from a restaurant that she frequented and it wasn't a fast food joint. Just throwing that out there, not trying to correct you :o)

Thanks for the correction if I'm wrong. Found the link where I read it. Is this an error? Was worrying about my own sanity for a few minutes though. Whew!

"DeBoer’s body was found lying face down in a culvert near the intersection of Cedar Way and 244th Street Southwest with a bag loosely secured over her head. It was a take-out bag from a fast food restaurant she frequented, Wilson said."

Don't know. I would trust the words of family over Wilson, but that's an individual call....I'll see if I can find his statement

Take out bag was not from her favorite restaurant/fast food. I am sure it was on rare occasion that she would frequent this place.

Looking around the general area I see Dominos, Subway, Pagliacci and McDonalds that are corporate enough to have printed bags. Todo Loco, I'm not so sure...~~Speculation only~~

Do those all use plastic bags? I haven't been to those places in awhile but am picturing paper bags, at least for McDonalds. i wonder...

Yes - the ME is entitled to the opinion that cuts to Cheryl's fingers are self-inflicted, and it wouldn't be the first time that an error was made by a ME.

Sure but it is a medical opinion unlike yours or mine.

I don't know Pagliacci (I'm in Canada), but the other three have plastic bags. In my experience though, McDonald's only gives plastic bags when you order salad, and Subway generally only when you have more one than one item, so they don't usually give out plastic bags (iirc).

We are assuming that the bag belonged to Cheryl and was in her possession the day she vanished.
There is NO proof that this bag belonged to or was in fact available .
Maybe she has friend who may attend l

I've never seen plastic at McDonalds, and only have seen long narrow plastic bags at subway (even with multiple subs, I think they can only fit 2 per bag?) ... No idea on Dominos or Pagliacci

"Time spent as a patrol officer is usually mandatory before becoming eligible to pursue the position of detective. While a great deal of knowledge is learned on the job, further training and education in investigative techniques are required to make detective. This training and education are specified by the department that employs the aspiring detective. Much of a detective's time is spent on investigation and paperwork, but they are expected to maintain a certain level of physical fitness."

I'm bad at computers and don't know how to add the link to this, but the website is www.criminaljusticeschoolinfo.com

To give credit where credit is due 😊

Could be, but I wonder why LE would have stated she had been there (not on that day, necessarily, but more than once certainly).

I am thinking they weren't guessing, but maybe instead were able to link her to the "restaurant" through debit/credit card transactions and/or through witnesses (friends/coworkers/restaurant employees who could verify that she had gone to the restaurant. ("Frequent" is kind of an ambiguous word. If she had gone to the place once or twice a month someone could use that term somewhat appropriately. But it would also be appropriate if she went there three times a week.)

The bag may have just served as 'the bag of opportunity' and not so much 'the bag from a restaurant she frequented'.

Agree, it could totally be a coincidence that she happened to have gone to the same restaurant that the bag came from. Fast food serves so many people every day. Could have just been a convenient find--a discarded bag, to be used by Cheryl or her killer.

On the flipside, of course maybe LE knows she went to the restaurant at some point during the days prior to her death.
