My dad was LE, too. If they couldn't compartmentalize like this, they would lose their minds IMO. Also, I suspect here there was a certain amount of relief or elation that now they have a crime scene and can continue zeroing in on the perp, after the horrible stress of the search.

Another cop's kid here, and I concur!

I have followed this case from the beginning and I am so heartbroken. Jenise was such a beautiful and out-going 6 year old. RIP, Jenise....I can see her running barefoot and laughing in a field of wildflowers....so precious

Thanks so much for your post, Shady (((hugs)))

Children sometimes are in situations where they don't stand a chance. It's so sad. My daughter just did her student teaching for her masters in K5. She fretted all the time about the things the children would tell her about home life and some was very bad. She's done now, and she still hasn't been able to forget it. She found out how social services works in some of these cases. Jenise probably had tales to tell too.

Perhaps some of the lightening of the mood would be better done away from the microphones and cameras.

I am not sure why, but this case makes me think of a case local to me- Kali Ann Poulton. Such a sweet little girl. How could anyone be so depraved? We live in such a sick world. :(

The reason I mostly just "lurk" on these threads are because of outcomes like this.....it always takes my breath away when I click on and see just horrible news. Bless all of you that put everything you have in these cases. RIP, beautiful Jenise. You had a smile that would light up the night.

Just an observation...looking at pictures of the mobile home park, it doesn't look like the type of place where people are coming and going (Like, staying a week or two and thats it). It looks like a pretty established community.

I agree. It looks pretty nice actually. Lots of planters and nice landscaping too.

It's interesting that no one knew what Jenise was wearing before she disappeared- is that common with missing children cases? -wouldn't Jenise's siblings know ?-that would be 4 people in the home not being able to give a description of Jenise was wearing- not even the color of her shirt.. or is this just another example of Jenise's absentee parents/family?

I suspect this is yet another example of those allegedly closest to her not really paying much attention to her.

I wonder if she might have snuck out to continue hanging out with the 14 year old and whoever else was with them all day on Friday and all day on Saturday.

That was the last thing that I posted this afternoon before I went to my class and now I come back to this horrible news.

Do we know exactly where she was found? Here is an overview of her mobile home park.

just using this post for the picture - (thanks btw)

when I zoom in (maybe about 6 times w/firefox thru view menu)

to me it looks like a wooden frame with a fan attached to it - you can see through the frame, it's not solid.

were they drying something? did they not have air conditioning?

looks like a deliberate set up/way to use fan - all moo :moo:

When I was a kid in Bremerton, if you *didn't* have scratches from blackberry bushes, you were too sick to be outside in the first place. Of course that was a million years ago before every teenager on the planet (and many adults) sit around on their e-devices all day.

I hear what your saying, Ontario Mom...:highfive:

but it made me a little uncomfortable... Because I am on my "I-device" (iPad) quite a bit.... Like right now... :blushing:

:seeya:

My amateur self thinks it's narrowed down to dad....or male teenage friend. Just a hunch...

I'm thinking someone without transportation, a teenager, transient, etc. I just can't see dad leaving her so close to home.

That's what I was getting at. Mobiles with stem walls are almost always "Permanently Affixed" to the property when set, for tax purposes through the county assessor, and the mortgage company that is handling the sale.
MH's have transitioned over to sheetrock, tape and texture in the last 25 years, no more "tacky" paneling, and tearing them down for transport and the transport itself can cause a lot of damage to the interior walls.
And you're right, it IS pretty expensive to move them (removal and storing of your household items, teardown, tongue/axle rental, transport, DOT permit, escort vehicles, placement permit, ad valorem tax check and transfer, leveling, marriage line attachment floor, walls and ceiling, new roof cap, utility hookups, etc....) For the cost and PITA, you might as well upgrade to a new unit and have it set in your new location.

Its not that expensive here in Georgia to break one down and move it to another location and set it back up. You can have a very reputable transporter and setup crew to breakdown and move a 32x80 for around $4200-$4800. And it cost this much to set it up when its new. That is one with all the upgrades like tape and textured sheetrock walls, plywood subflooring etc. Along with site built homes I sold manufactured homes for 16 years when I had my real estate business. A lot of homes in the mid 2000s were foreclosed on and repossessed due to the down turn in the economy. So the home was originally setup, then broken down at time of repossession, pulled to a dealer's lot, re-sold, and then set up again on a permanent foundation like it originally was in the beginning. I never had any complaints with any damage to the homes. They are actually built very sturdy nowadays. Now I have no clue how much it cost in WA.

Perhaps some of the lightening of the mood would be better done away from the microphones and cameras.

With all due respect, they probably don't care about the comfort of those of us sitting at home reading about it on the internet ;)
