Found Deceased WA - Jenise Wright, 6, Bremerton, 2 Aug 2014 - #5 *Arrest*

Good idea! I also teach my children to yell "This isn't my daddy, this isn't my mommy" as well as many other things to avoid abduction. I learned from my Sunday school teacher that if you are approached and feel uncomfortable to start doing weird things like eating grass. (Now, when I ask my children what to do if in XYZ situation, they reply, "We know mom, eat grass.") Smart aleck kids!

I spent the day with family celebrating our 24 yr old's birthday. About half-way through the evening, hubby checked his twitter feed and said "what was your theory again about who did this to little Jenise?" I was glad to hear there was an arrest made but horrified to hear what the charges were. I guess like many others I was just hoping rape wasn't a part of it.

I haven't read all the comments (most, but I'm still way behind so if it's already been said...) but, there are so many victims here. As is always the case in such cases. This kind of evil act is exactly like a pebble tossed into a pond, and the ripple effect:

1. First and foremost is that precious little Comet of the Month, Jenise. I don't know how well she thought she knew him but I can guarantee she had no idea what he was capable of doing to her.
2. James and Denise Wright, Jenise's parents. I don't care what kind of parenting style they adopted, they didn't deserve to have their baby girl ripped from this world the way she was.
3. Jenise's siblings who clearly adored their baby sister.
4. The kids in the park (who I'm sure know exactly who this 17 yr old is) & the kids she went to school with who's life was brightened up just because she was in it.
5. The parents of the kid arrested. Most mothers and fathers never, ever, ever suspect their child is capable of such evil. They must be in shock and denial right now as well.

My heart goes out to all of them. I pray they charge him as an adult and justice is harsh and clear. I can't say more than that, if I want to remain a member here. Just too enraged.

I will always be enraged by child neglect, whether the child is neglected and alive, or neglected and dead.

I have extreme difficulty on cases where the child was made vulnerable to their murderer because of parental negligence. I hold the rapist and murderer accountable for his/her acts, the negligent parent(s) accountable for his/hers/theirs.

In these cases, I focus my sorrow, my sympathy, my heart...to the child victim. It's the best I can do.

was he out and about all the time?
did he hang with the younger kids or kids his age?
was he outgoing or kept to himself? Was he always hanging in the background?
is he mentally challenged?

3 vehicles were just towed from Jenise Wright mobile home park. Kitsap Sheriff: suspect had access to all 3. Large white van and 2 SUVs.

Charging him as a juvenile would be no justice at all. I think the most they could keep him in custody if he is charged as juvenile is 21.

I just realized her name is a blend of mom and dad. So sad! I feel bad for thinking they had anything to do with it.
I also thought they had lied about seeing her Saturday night. My public apology.

I am confused by what the Bishop said and what the media is reporting. One says they don't even know the name the other says it's a camily friend and they are concerned...
I guess they could be concerned about retaliation without knowing which 17 yo...
Know I know why police stuck around. If.word got out among teens and they started some vigilante justice it would have been bad!

I wonder too. Along with a comment from a teen in the area about how "normally" they make sure she gets home safe. I immediately wondered "ok... was wasn't normal Saturday?"
An unplanned trip to BK and a promise to drop her off at home in the car perhaps? AFTER dropping everyone else off first???
