Back in session, when I came in the judge was talkign abotu proceeding without someone who was too sick to get out of bed this morning, don't know if it was a juror or not.

Today's witness list being discussed at the mo.

Good morning everyone!

Anybody know why this case is dissecting burritos from tacos?

So far I have no idea about why we needed to hear about endless hits on cell phone towers, big deal about a value purchase at a Taco joint, the drano and gloves purchase and something that I can't remember but I remember the judge and defense couldn't remember if some material had already been entered either.

gees..........

The 'soil' (?) expert's voice sounded like it went down went he mentioned Nicole's body. As if in deference to what happened to her.

How refreshing that an expert actually sounded like he was moved because of this young woman's killing.

I don't know how visual they're going to get but I'll just listen for the time being.

Is it just a very long lunch break, or are they over for the day?

This court is very laid back. They are on 'lunch' right now. Say in another two hours or so they all will wander back into court. :P

Absolutely Absotuckingfutely worst audio ever and still no attempt to fix it...:stormingmad:

Well, that might be about the only thing I heard right today, yes it was a juror, judge said she had health issues, was not feeling well all last week, but still came in every day. As you said, she was unable to get out of bed today, I think the judge dismissed her, and said they would proceed without her.

They have alternates, right?

They had alts and I believed it was a male juror; and the words he were used. Funny yes we both heard it differently...
I am so sick to death of this def team; and all day taco and seeds what an annoying green atty this one is. He has NOT learned the art of the cross exam. He is wet behind the ears. And its driving me mad!

I am sure you are right, cherry.
It was the "pinto beans" that made me dive off the cliff!

Was anyone else watching what was said after the jury left the room at 5pm, judge was going over the witness list with both sides. Defense will not be calling many at all, afraid to give a number, did not do an exact count. There is a reason my name is.....oh oh!
A Dr. That is on the defense list may be testifying to what a happy marriage they had (really?), Prosecution said that will open door to many things. Even judge said ...are you sure you want to go there?
Also.....Defense wants evidence in that Nicole had her first breast enhancement surgery before she ever met David.

Wow, young green defense lawyer just got a beat down from the judge, no mistrial over female juror with lupus that was dismissed yesterday. Judge said it was done in open court.
Prosecution will rest this morning. Defense to call Dr. As their first witness this afternoon.

Judge was REALLY annoyed over motion for mistrial.

I didn't stick around after he dismissed yesterday (darn, I know better lol), thanks for the rundown on that ohoh, I was wondering how many more witnesses the prosecution had. I came in a little late this morning and they were already talking about the defense's first witness this afternoon so I figured they said when they were going to rest but missed the dialogue.

Did I hear the judge correctly that sidebars are pretty much not allowed anymore? That's a trend I hope spreads nationwide, the amount of secrect in supposedly open trials is rather stunning in some cases.

Yes geevee, I heard that about the sidebars too. Judge mentioned some new article(ruling?) that he called The Bone Collection. I too , hope that it is not just Washington.

I like all the cops on the case, not a dud in the bunch. Esp. the one on the stand now (Mellis?), nice looking, straight talking guy.

It'll probably never cease to stun me when I hear a judge using someone's sir name 'Mr. or Mrs. Whomever' and it turns out to be a juror being dicussed, heard it recently in another case and I'm like - you use real names??? I thought that was protected info until after a case was finished and the media petitioned for release of names or they just weren't sealed any longer. I guess it's a state to state thing but I wish names of jurors would be kept under wraps until the case is finished.

I am intrigued about this sidebar ruling, judge implied that he has read it, lifted eyebrows - stared at counsel...like wondering if they have read it !

Do not even know if it is called a ruling.....must sleuth later.
