Is a backpack related to case of missing hiker Patti Krieger?

The Skagit County Sheriff`s Office said Monday it has a backpack that it has been asked to investigate as potential evidence in connection with the disappearance of Patti Krieger, who went missing after hiking on Sauk Mountain Oct. 2, 2010.

VIDEO at link shows the backpack, which appears to have a blood stain inside of it.

New to this case and just looking for updates. Rather horrified poor Patti hasnt been found. Were any of the vehicles that left the trail that day searched? Could her body been taken away and put somewhere in the time the “groupies” said they left the trail head and before they came back to report her Missing? Forgive me if this has already been discussed.

any new leads in this case? I came across a name in connection with another crime.
so strange all the links to media are now gone.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before and I just missed it. Is there concrete proof that Patti made it on the mountain hike with Larry and his associates? Has there been any DNA testing done on the ashes Larry and the group deposited on the mountain? With cremation or any burning of a body there are bone fragments left behind. My thought is that he possibly killed her prior to the hike and burned her body and the group went to the mountain with her dog and spread all of the ashes together. I realize that if this had not been done that this many years later it might be difficult to find and retrieve anything.

The 65-year-old was hiking the Sauk Mountain trail in northwest Washington State with her fiancé, 42-year-old Jason Lee Pressley, and five of his friends and family members with plans to scatter the ashes of Pressley’s parents at the mountain’s peak.

The hikers told authorities that Patricia and her rottweiler, Bear, headed down a different trail as they descended the mountain. According to the The Charley Project, the group called to Patti to tell her she was headed the wrong way, but she didn’t answer and they didn’t follow her, instead assuming that the path would meet back up with the main trail later on.

According to a website dedicated to finding Patti, Pressley waited for several hours before reporting Patti missing. Authorities searched for the woman, but the woman had seemingly vanished without a trace. Search dogs were able to follow Patti’s scent down the mountain and into the parking lot where it disappeared.

Patti’s dog was found malnourished, but alive, several weeks after her disappearance.

At the time of her disappearance, Patti was wearing jeans, a long sleeved white shirt with a blue shirt over it. She was also carrying a black sweatshirt that said OLD NAVY on it. There was a gold ring on her right hand, a cross necklace around her neck, and she used hearing aids.

Police never charged Pressley in Patti’s disappearance, but he was arrested on federal weapons charges and then sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2013. Records from the United States Bureau of Prisons note that Pressley was released from custody in January 2018.
