I had two random thoughts today:

1) Is it possible she had a psychotic break/off meds, and actually really believes in her mind, or convinced herself (and girl), that Sky was in the car that day? That she was taking him to get help? Perhaps when whatever happened, happened, she entirely blocked it out -with memory loss of the events surrounding his demise. I have a friend from college that had an episode where she was 2.5 hrs drive away from her home -outside a place she used to have good times, then rammed the back of a parked car and was subsequently admitted for psych eval. She was very confused about why she was there and why she hit the car. She couldn't remember her thought process leading up to the trip, and why she was even there in the first place. It was a real break of reality. It happens.

2) that thought led me to think that if I were going to hide something, it would be in a familiar place -I would go to a park or area I knew well, had been to before. I would NOT go to a completely unfamiliar place, not knowing the terrain, how busy it is, etc... Don't you all think that LE has surely met with every friend/family they can and gotten a list of all the places that they know are familiar to her? I sure hope so -I favor a known site over an unfamiliar site...

This is what I was speculating earlier on. I'm on the fence now. If JB had a psychotic break and killed Sky, I'm thinking it happened before the car abandonment. If she was that psychotic, she would have been involuntarily admitted again -- they would have assessed that at the scene and police are trained to do that.

I'm now thinking that is not what happened, although she doesn't seem well at all.

In one of the recent photo's released by LE, Sky was seen sitting in the kitchen sink, undressed, with what appeared to be a plate of food next to the sink on the counter. Some have speculated Sky was being fed while sitting in the kitchen sink due to JB's ocd with cleanliness.

ETA: I can't tell if it is a fork or spoon in the lower right corner. IMO it looks more like a spoon than a fork, but I can't tell for sure.

sorry im four pages behind...lol..just got the rest of the house cleaned and VACUMED TWICE lol...kids finally went to sleep at nine thirty so Im just catching up.

cubby your right that pic does look strange. Ive given my kiddies baths in the sink when they were little but something is odd about this pic i cant explain it. maybe its just because its so close up and almost to hide whats around it strange. I dont know. :waitasec:

I believe you when you say that your experiences were horrible, and thank you for sharing them.

Respectfully, I think you are allowing your own experiences to somewhat cloud your judgement in one critical respect. You apparently see a similarity here between what occured in your life and what has happened in this case. You might well be correct. However....

The person in this case who, like you, fought and bled for the kids, the person willing to do damn near anything for them, the person who was lied about and villified and who spent month after month trying to get anyone to listen, just like you did....

Is DAD.

He's the guy who has been out there all alone, just like you, trying to save his kids.

This post nearly made me cry...its all too true I think you are right. Its also wishful thinking somewhat on my part that the kids have a real protective mom (like me) and that the baby is still alive :tears:

Not sure if my last post got through as I was kicked off in the middle of it. As I was saying...I really hope God helps you pull through this difficult time and keeps your daughter safe. I cant believe you have to deal with this nutjob going free. I swear if I did not go to church and pray like heck there are times when I think about vigilante justice for creeps like that. I cant even believe hes walking around when he should have surgery Lorena Bobbit style. Im sorry I get so angry.

I really dont know what to think about this case anymore. I really hope other posters are wrong and I keep hope that that baby is alive. I hope to God nothing happened to him. I liked it better when I doubted she could ever do anything like that. :-(

In your first paragraph, I think you mean SM not JB. It's confusing!

You are so right! I can't go back and edit it now, but I meant if SM had taken Sky from the car.

ETA- I find it interesting that we haven't heard from LE since the Watershed Park search. I really think they found something and they are awaiting labs. I asked my brother on Thanksgiving. . .he's a local prosecutor. He said that he doesn't think LE would lie to the media, just ask them not to not report on it till they found out more. . .like till the labs came back. He also said that if LE did find something that it might be what they asked. . .until labs came back. But he did think it would be unusual for media not to leak the info. Ugh. . .take it for whatever it's worth.

It certainly does make me wonder about Grandma S (now that we know where the relationship started and why). She advocated for the kids, albeit on Julia's behalf, for quite some time. I hope she's just doing it quietly and supporting SM at church.

Throw eggs at me if you want, call me cynical, but I don't trust either S in this matter. My gut feeling in reviewing all we have seen here is that some kind of sick, codependent, enabling, child-wrecking relationships were in place there, for whatever warped reasons. Maybe they regret that now, maybe they don't. But IMO, the bottom line is that they enabled this monster in brainwashing, physically and mentally abusing, and most likey murdering the innocent(s) who should have been able to trust her the most.

I hope both S's stay far, far, far away from M.

ETA: By "both S's" I mean 'grandma' and the other female friend SO. NOT SM at all. Sorry if any confusion.

It is strange. I noticed the spoon or fork was left in a position which looks like someone was just about to pick up a serving but instead set down the utensil to take the picture. Notice how the utensil is under the meat.

Also of note, iirc the apartment is newer construction, completed in 2008 iirc. They would come with dishwashers. If JB used the dishwasher versus handwashing, it seems out of place to not have cleared the plate and put it in the dishwasher or cleared the plate and not left it within reach of Sky if she were handwashing.

The above reasons lead me to strongly believe she was feeding Sky in the sink.

BBM - I think so too. There's no reason for a child that size to be sitting in the sink - none.

And it would be the appropriate place to feed a messy eater without the fuss of having to clean a kitchen counter. She could hose him off right there.

Can you imagine having that childhood memory? Yah, my mom fed me in the sink.

I can only imagine what the 2 children went through the last 10 months without SM's involvement.

If, as I remember is true, then it was very clear to LE that she was, "off" and in need of care at the scene. If that's the case, there was a good judgment there.

I agree she's mentally ill but I do not believe that mental illness rises to the level to remove culpability for murdering her child. There are hundreds of thousands of women suffering from depression and/or anxiety disorders that are amazing mothers. Many non-psychotic women who do kill their children are afflicted with personality disorders.

In my opinion Diane Downs, Darlie Routier, Susan Smith and Casey Anthony are all technically mentally ill yet society at large tends to repudiate any sympathy afforded them for their illnesses. Myself included.

I believe that JB was mentally sick, but I think that her world was very, very small so few people really got to experience how she and it was. I also believe she was capable of acting "fine" in certain situations and with certain people, maybe she managed even though it was a struggle for her. So when she was with the people closest to her - that's when she became a "beast".

I checked her FB profile last night. I don't get the feeling that the people on her friends list are close friends. Don't know why I get that feeling, I just do. Almost no one has "rallied" and put Sky's picture up as their profile picture..

I've no doubt the woman is as crazy as a loon but I don't believe that was the reason she murdered Sky. I still hold the opinion that she murdered Sky because he was his daddy's mini-me and she couldn't stand that from day #1. She resented Sky because he looked so much like Solomon.

I also do not recall a psych eval following Sky's disappearance but maybe it was reported somewhere I didn't see. I do remember what you said about JB initially cooperating, giving an interview, and allowing LE into her apartment -- and then ceasing all cooperation pretty abruptly. All 3 of JB's hospitalizations (2 involuntary) I am aware of happened in the past. I don't think anyone has really seen how acute JB's illness was in the months prior to Sky's disappearance because I think she was pretty well isolated during that time. So, if she had a psychotic break, there may have been no one to witness it.

That said, I agree with you that mental illness does not always constitute no legal responsibility.

I agree that's a possibility. But I also consider that JB was eating dinner while bathing a sick/ feverish child. I have bathed little ones in the sink before. I don't see anything sinister about this photo. He is oddly red, so I assume he may be sick (I'd like to not think of other reasons).

If LE isn't quiet simply awaiting lab results, then I fear they realize that Julia is not about to talk, no matter what they do. They were giving updates daily, if not twice daily, and now nothing at all. I don't think they harbor any illusions that she will suddenly come forward and decide to cooperate.
