I can't remember....was Julia charged with child endangerment (she did admit to leaving both Sky and his sister at home for 12 hours during a mediation) at the beginning of this case?

This woman should never have been awarded custody of the children --- she had serious mental health issues --- and I am at a loss for why any judge would reach such a decision. That she was mentally unstable, that she had neglected the children previously, that she admitted to thinking about killing the children and that she concocted a bogus disappearance-from-the-car story all lead one to conclude that two-year-old Sky likely died sometime before the morning of November 6, 2011. Whether he died as a result of her negligence --- the most likely scenario --- or whether she deliberately killed him is an open question, as is what she did with his body, but the Law & Order SVU episode --- her favorite show --- clearly gave her an idea as to how she might escape without blame. Except that she isn't a very good liar and her bogus story fell apart quickly. Given that she and the children rarely went out, police should focus on how and when she might have disposed of Sky's body. They should question the other child again about her memories of that time --- the mother clearly coached the little one to say that Sky was in the car --- and they should question the mother vigorously.

These Washington children are still missing
Two major announcements on long, unsolved cases involving young children in Western Washington puts the spotlight back on a series of cold cases with either no suspect or trace of the victim.

Sofia Juarez of Kennewick triggered the state's first Amber Alert in 2003. Most recently, the curious case of Sky Metalwala is still unsolved. The two-year-old boy vanished in 2011 from the side of a Bellevue road, according to his mother, and has not been seen since

As for the Sky Metalwala case, Bellevue's police chief continues to call it one of his top priorities. But from the outside, the investigation seems to have stalled. Sky's mother, Julia Biryukova, has declined to talk with police, who have publicly questioned her but not forced her to come in for further questioning.

Bellevue police released a new age-progressed image Saturday morning of Sky Metalwala, a Bellevue child who has been missing since 2011. The image depicts what Sky would look like now, as a seven-year-old.

oh I have away from here for a long time and just trying to catch up.

Wondering if now that the daughter is older if she remembers anything that might help, she may not have been able to express properly when younger.

Geez... I can't believe 7 years!! have gone by....

7 years after boy vanished, Bellevue police plead for help from public

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Police are renewing their call for help from the public in solving the case of a missing toddler on the seventh anniversary of his mysterious disappearance.

It was on Nov. 6, 2011, that 2-year-old Sky Metalwala was reported missing by his mother in Bellevue, Julia Biryukova.
[.....]
Biryukova spoke with investigators on the day she reported Sky missing, but has since refused to take part in the police investigation.
[.....]
So far, detectives with the FBI, Bellevue police and Redmond police have pursued more than 2,500 tips and spent more than 14,000 hours and over $2 million on the lengthy investigation. But Sky remains missing.

New video from KING 5 News in Seattle: "[Sky's mother] has never given a formal statement to police - and has avoided the media - until now."

Exclusive | Sky Metalwala mom, Julia Biryukova, in court
Interesting. Her name is now Julia Morgan and she's divorced from her 2nd husband. The court case today involved her claim that her ex violated a non-contact order for a child she had with that husband (after Sky's disappearance). He was found in her car and, if I understand correctly, he called LE because he's "worried about the fate of his son." Does Julia now have another son who's missing?

Julia was very rude and arrogant in court, and she still refuses to answer questions about Sky. Why is this tolerated?
