Good point!
Today I was going reading some of the great links our posters have posted. I read that if a man couldn't control his wife or wives in every way. He would be replaced immediately by a new husband & sent packing.

I got the impression he was still very much FLDS. But hadn't seen his kids in 3 years. I also tried finding the story to post the link but it was gone.

I really wouldn't put too much stock in anything this fellow has to say.

So basically what you are saying is that you are getting your info from the media, and since we know there is a gag order in place and that info released is being severely limited, that basically you also don't know what evidence they may or may not have either?

I personally don't take Voss's statement as saying they don't have evidence. I pretty much take Voss's statement as that she is limiting how much she is going to say to media.

LOL, many speak with assurance here. But they back up their words with links to news articles or info publically available. Only two here have claimed any connection to the events. One of those explained her connection. Only one that I have seen has claimed 'expertise and a vested interest' without explanation.

None of us are getting our information from anywhere BUT the media. As you mentioned, everyone posts their "media" links here. How you personally "take" Voss's statements is, as you said..personal. We all are posting our "personal" opinions here, are we not? If there is anything I have said that is outside my "personal" opinion, anything that I have stated as fact in THIS one case, that is NOT true, please let me know and I will try to provide a link. I want to be as accurate as possible while leaving my opinions and emotions at the door.

Really shows the love and concern they have for the children doesn't it?

Its totally heart breaking & the most ignorant thing I ever heard of, but
not surprising. They'll get more kids from another compound & start all over again. Women are supposed to have 1 baby per year. In 9 to 10 month they'll have a new brood & start the vicious cycle all over again.

I haven't heard if he left on his own or not. He speaks very high of the FLDS & his ex wife following it. Considering if he left or was kicked out he couldn't see his kids again. I thought that was real odd.....

This afternoon I read the reader comments after articles in three different newspapers, and one comment pertained to David Williams, the father that drove from Nevada to give DNA in hopes of recovering his three sons. The comment was that he built a statue at Colorado City, AZ and Warren Jeffs didn't like it and there was a dispute over it. At this point, I don't recall whether David Williams left the cult or was asked to leave......it was one of many comments I read. I've tried to find the comment again so I could give you reference, but now can't find it.

From what i have read so far, these men ""take"" newborn babies away from their mothers at a very young age, and these children and mothers don't even get a time to bond with said child.

There are up to 16 other children in your house that you are taking care of. You could be nursing 3rd wife's baby for all she knows.
They have been trained very early to show no emotion, or form any bonds with others in this sec, so why are they wanting back the children they have no bond with, and aren't even sure which ones are theirs to begin with? Some of these kids have been sent down from up north, so can we even guess how many from Texas are spread out all over the place?

They're more like zombies than humans.

I'm not, he was / is FLDS all the way.

Some reports state he is living in Nevada and others say Southern Utah. None state why he is no longer welcomed in an FLDS compound nor do they state how many "wives" he had. I suppose his wives have been re-allocated to others since he left. I bet he's elated at the opportunity to take his children to wherever he's living now.

Glow,

Just wanted to pop in and say I am completely down with your way of considering this tragic situation. I'll have to read all night to catch up on this thread, but just wanted you to know that you are not alone in your thought processes!:blowkiss: When I have the energy, I'll join the frey.

love, SCM

Look forward to hearing your thoughts SCM.

The more I think about the DNA testing, I have a feeling we are going to have quite a few kiddo's who don't match anyone here, and some adults who don't match the kids they are claiming as theirs.

If the parents don't step up, we may never know. I have the feeling that in the end, they won't care. They'll just make more babies. The women who have been in the media this week don't seem to differentiate between "their" children "the" children. They don't seem to bond in the traditional maternal way.

Cheko.................I found an article on David Williams, but still can't find the comment I mentioned. This article just gives a little bit of info on David Williams.

Although I don't know for sure, I suspect that David Williams left the FLDS because he may have been threatened by Warren Jeffs in regards to their dispute. But, David Williams didn't abandon his beliefs in the FLDS. He's still a strong believer.

They remind me of a farmer tending his cash crop. If something happens and the crop is destroyed he just begins planting the next one. IMO the women will become pregnant asap.

VB
VB I hate to say it, but I bet you're right.

How did this group of women go from :
"waaa we want our children back" to

"let's hit the road"?:furious:

Breaks my heart! :(

If the FLDS members did take off & leave the kids, not co-operating with CPS & leaving the kids behind. If CPS will attempt to contact family members who are not FLDS to take the kids? Hope this made sense!!!

It's a bit frightening to me that "Uncle David" is still so loyal to the FLDS. Clearly, he is not living outside of the compound by choice, and yet he is supporting the cult completely. I would love to know where he lives. It makes me wonder if he has begun a splinter group.....

Just fine thank you! :blowkiss: Hope you are too!

Told hubby tonight that if I lived in Texas I'd of contacted CPS & taken several of them in. Just so sad.....

I think there's going be a number of children that are going to be termed "abandoned" as no parents can be found.

If the reports are true that a number of the men who were at the YFZ ranch are gone, and the women are refusing to cooperate, there may end up being a lot of abandoned children. Clearly, the fact that the women have lied about their identities makes anything they say suspect. DNA will be need to prove relationships.
