This is really good and it's also the first time I recall the door as being locked. Not only was it locked but because it was locked the police didn't ask it to be opened. They walked away.

So what caused JR to unlock it during his sweep of the house?

Is anyone else watching Dr. Phil today?? I'm astonished at this!! We need open chat.

WOW you are correct!!

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0027850/quotes (1994).

Howard Payne: Jack, nothing tricky now. You know I'm on top of you! DO NOT attempt to grow a brain!

Now, THAT is interesting.

I can't take credit for this. It was mentioned on one of the recent specials. The A&E one maybe. It mentioned some of the other lines in the note coming from movies too. But that one stuck in my brain since I've seen that movie a bunch.

i usually ignore this type of post but am making an exception...

The Ramseys seemed to have trouble with details on all fronts, so I doubt that is a complete list. And weren't other gifts mentioned, like some model that JR helped him put together before bed?

I think he did say that on Dr. Phil but I remember reading that only JonBenet and Patsy got bicycles that year. I could be wrong though.

The first I heard of Burke getting a bicycle was on the Dr. Phil show.

Basically Dr P said all the RDI folks are ridiculous. He even laughed derisively.

He sure did. This angered me as much as his words. I have always took up for DP when my friends would put him down. ughh

You just have to watch it Sunshine. But be prepared, it's insulting on so many levels.
I'll keep an eye out for it on YouTube. Then maybe I'll send the good doctor some hate mail...

That's the first I have heard of it also. I really don't think he got a bike that year. I remember reading somewhere (and y'all bear with me, my memory is not so good) in an interview Patsy says Burke already had a bike.

Please share! I haven't been able to watch any of the DP shows.

I'll try to sum it up. Dr. Phil defended the Ramsey's especially Burke. Along with smirks and chuckles he repeated several times "he was just 9 years old people", that Burke was never a suspect and no investigators ever thought he was. He says it's a DNA case. He again explained Burke was smiling due to anxiety. He believes Burke was very truthful. That's all I can remember at this moment. I was steaming! OH, and that those of us RDI people believed things off the internet because we think Hey if it's on the internet it must be true.

Thanks for the laugh out loud. Needed a release valve on the stress.

"Don't try to grow a brain" is a line from the movie "Speed."

I wasn't aware of these things before. YIKES. She changed her A's? Do you have a reference or link for this? I've love to see it. Creepy.

From lead detective Steve Thomas's book, 'JonBenet: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation, page 151, Kindle edition:

We had noticed previously in pre-homicide writings, that (PR) consistently used the manuscript 'a', but post-homicide, it disappeared from her samples of writing. This was a major find, as it looked as though she was consciously changing her lettering. She had more handwriting styles than a class of sixth-graders and was seemingly able to change as easily as turning on and off different computer fonts.

Other than BR, I see PR as the person who wrote the note. (I still think BR was involved somehow, and PR covered it up- :cow:).

An interesting page on handwriting analysis of the note: http://www.experthandwritinganalysis.com/2013/07/19/unmasking-the-ramsey-ransom-note/

I'm still wondering who puts their child to bed using a flashlight. I'm stuck on that. Anyone??

Another question: If Burke needed the flashlight to "sneak downstairs" then didn't he need it to "sneak upstairs" yet it was found on the kitchen counter.
