WFTV - STRICKLAND filed complaint against Baez!

I'm confused.. what exactly did JB say that caused the judge to file a complaint or whatever he filed? Did he say "the defense has no legal obligation to inform authorities that they have found a body, if it would harm their client"?

If so, it would seem to me he could say that if he wanted to, it is (apparently!) the truth.. what else would he say if anyone asked him what would have happened if they had found the body and not reported it? He is merely stating what the law is.. no secret to what the law says is correct, surely? Nor need it have come from him, anyone who looked up the law on the subject could say it.. if that is indeed the law..

We don't know what DC disclosed in that interview when it went off the record. Whatever Strickland read, though, he thought it serious enough to file a complaint. Like you said, it wasn't about knowing where the body was. Baez did no wrong by not disclosiing that. Baez has done something else to cause Strickland to take this action against him.

I'm betting we'll see a notice of withdrawal from LKB very soon.

Maybe. But I also wouldn't be surprised if she took over as lead counsel, as she did in the Spector case when the former lead counsel was under a lot of scrutiny and criticism.

OT- does anybody see the "thanks" button here?

OKAY! BS! Doesn't this NOW prove that the A's are involved in a cover up? Seriously?! Why are they not behind bars. :behindbar: Just BS BS BS!

Betting that JBaez must've asked/advised DCasey to lie if ever asked if he'd seen the body. JBaez knew DCasey wasn't working for him in November, ergo the attorney work product privilege did NOT cover work DCasey did for Anthony family members

She cannot in FL - she's only admitted pro hac vice and is not a member of the FL bar, which I believe is required for lead counsel in FL courts.

Their BS and their ability to keep getting "away with it" has been part of the reason that I've stopped commenting so much on this case. I am completely disgusted that her family keeps getting a pass regardless of what they do or say.

I guess LE feel that they have larger fish to fry and they would like to concentrate on KC first; before they go after this ridiculously disgusting family...But I'm still put off - big time!

MOO

could someone put it into laymens terms as to what it is that baez did? TIA!

IF this is true, it could turn this whole case upside down and sideways. From what I have seen and heard, Judge Strickland seems like a stand up, law and order guy and he must have seen/heard something really 'bad' to go forward with a complaint. I would love to hear from our legal people here - have you EVER heard of a Judge who is presiding over a case to file a complaint against the lead defense attorney?

Every time I think this case couldn't get any more twisted - I am proved wrong! Of course my next thought is 'who leaked the fact that it was Judge Strickland who filed the complaint?"

Things have been mighty quiet in that camp. I wondered why it was the "spokesperson" who came out yesterday to talk. Baez is probably hiding. He knows about the complaint.

The last few times I've seen Baez on the news lately, he has not been his usual smirky self. Seemed kind of downcast. This could be why. heh

How do you think Conway gets swept in here? Heard the advice and didn't report it?

I was always suspicious of the fact that Casey worked for Baez, had a "misunderstanding" with him and, when he no longer worked for Baez, lo and behold he started working for the Anthony's. All just a little too coincidental and pat for my taste.

I've missed you Muzikman! So nice to see you here again. I'm right with you on the "heh"!

:)

Knew that this one was coming. Strickland knows better than anyone that Casey might NOT getting a proper defense - and no one wants to see anything go awry that could be challenged on appeal.

Now...about those bets that his co-counsel, LKB, will be withdrawing as counsel pro hac vice...

You Hoo! Themis! Chezhire wants to talk to yooooooooooouuuuuuu!

:D:D:D

:couch:

Nope, not limited to information learned directly from Casey. Here's the Florida RPC. In some jurisdictions it is explained as the difference between a "confidence" and a "secret." " I think the problem might be 4-1.2(d): "A lawyer shall not counsel a client to engage, or assist a client, in conduct that the lawyer knows or reasonably should know is criminal or fraudulent."

I went and read the Florida rules after I posted, but if there is an even broader scope of what can't be told by Baez, and this information would be within it, then there must be some other problem, I agree.

I know we're all speculating, but it isn't really surprising that the trek to Caylee's burial ground in November has led to a lot of trouble. Given who was doing it, all the conflicting statements about why, how they changed after it was learned that a tape of the visit(s) existed, the entangled relationships and representations, it has been a disaster.
