What do you make of Terri never speaking to the media?

Oh. My. God.

LOL

"We asked her some tough questions !"

Yeah. At a car with all 4 windows rolled up.

What a joke. That was strictly for the benefit of the "reporter".

I guess you didn't notice that this was on the news yesterday at 5:30 Pacific time. The comment on twitter wasn't made until later.

You aren't kidding. What a joke. They are pathetic. IMO

They did say that Kaine was at the grand jury for a second day. I didn't know that.

IMO, the reporter was mistaken. If Kaine was at the GJ on Tuesday, it would have been major news.

hmm. Perhaps we should clarify the headline (facts and all that):

"Media yells tough questions at a windshield." :winko:

The father of missing seven-year-old Kyron Horman confirmed to KGW that he appeared before the grand jury Monday and could possibly be returning on Tuesday.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38527409

perhaps this is where the "tuesday" thing came into play and I agree he most likely didn't return or it would have been major news but he could have do so under the radar. I suppose anything is possible.

I watched the video. Ever since the video of Terri in the garage, I've been unsure about what to make of her stoic expression and complete silence. It is not a stretch to assume that her attorney told her to look straight ahead, don't smile, don't answer, etc.

When DS came out of the courthouse and wasn't stoic, several believed she was smirking and smiling too much.

If Terri did smile or looked like she was relaxed, she would be accused of reveling in her crime and the fact that for now she's getting away with it. However, IMHO, her look is so affected. She seems very concentrated on not having any sort of facial expression. Also, I wonder if she's on medication. Innocent or not, the strain has got to be nearly unbearable.

I noticed when the news report was aired.

"We did ask her some tough questions" was what the reporter said in the video. I couldn't follow the twitter stuff.

I agree I think both DS and MC had the same "****e-eatin" grins on their faces. And Terri to me has looked all along nothing but strong, determined and really ticked off. JMO

She looks in shock to me. I have a friend who's marriage blew up in her face. She looked a lot like TH at the first presser, and a lot like all the other sightings after. Flat affect.

I sure didn't think Terri had a flat affect at the first presser. I thought she was making quite a few strange facial expressions and movements, with her eyes darting all over the place. Since then, we've seen her fake that everything was hunky-dory after Kaine left, with the smiling thumbs up and all. Since then, she has just looked stoic, the way most of us probably look if someone is bothering us and we don't want to encourage them in any way or respond. (Like the way a lot of us look if construction workers are yelling comments, for example.)

So what's next?

"We interviewed Terri Horman at her home. She was firm but quiet."

Sorry, I didn't make a clear enough connection to "after" and "flat affect". That was my intent, the first presser she was like a deer in the headlights, since the sting, she's been flat. Not just stoic. Look at her interacting with others. Flat.

I don't think anyone who thought she acted weird had expected her to be smiling or relaxed...really? Maybe you're responding to a post I missed, which has happened lately :blushing:

Personally, I would have expected her to look like a stepmother whose child had been missing for weeks/months. Verge of tears, sad, worried...that kind of thing. Anything else is just unnatural -- at least in terms of an overall demeanor, imo.

What was really amazing was how anyone can just drive away and not answer Where is Kyron? Des was right, ice water in the veins.

Heh, I would have been playing Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" and not heard a word.

On second thought, does anyone think that reporter would have been bright enough to get the reference?

First thing I'd think of:

It's been almost one year since Kyron went missing, and Terri has never spoken on camera. She has never made a TV appearance to tell her side of the story, made a plea for Kyron's safe return, or held a press conference. Do you think staying silent was a good PR move or do you think speaking out would help to change public perception about her?

I believe that staying silent was a good move for Terri. People who believe she is guilty aren't going to change their opinion simply because of a media appearance. Every facial expression and sentence will be analyzed to fit a certain POV. After every TV appearance, people will wonder if Terri enjoys the media attention and infamy she is getting from her role in this. Lastly, it would benefit Terri immensely if the case fades away from the media, and by keeping silent, that is one less person who will help to keep the spotlight on Kyron's case.
