No. That's the whole point, it wouldn't be better. It wouldn't make any difference.

If you're a scientist with a theory, an author with a story, or a politician with an idea don't you want it published for free by the media? Why would that not be better?

I don't believe your claim that media support for RDI wouldn't be better. Its an invalid claim with no basis in fact. Of course it would be better for RDI, but not for justice. It is justice that has the support in the media and thats fine by me.

The committee, established last year, has an ambitious plan: to get North Korea involved in Miss World in (South) Korea.

Jenny Thorn, a Miss World Korea representative, said the committee has in mind a plan to host a fashion show in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the sidelines of the main final show, which would be a tremendously influential window for North Koreans to see the world and vice versa.

``We can promote North Korea to the world. And who knows? We might start Miss North Korea?" Thorn said.

The ambassador agreed. ``It will build a bridge in creating better atmosphere between South and North Korea.

...are you saying the korean's killed JB because she would have been too much of a competition in the 2009 Miss World pageant?

No,not really.

Here's some backgound if you'd like:

I don't know if you've read much of this thread but another poster suggested the paintbrush could've been selected for symbolic value as it had the word KOREA printed in gold letters on it. I agree because the paintbrush was otherwise an awkward selection. It was perhaps too long and needed to be broken. I went around the house and found a dozen objects not requiring breakage that would work as a garrote handle. Breaking 3/8" dia. paint brushes twice makes noise, so then RDI went to work suggesting the paintbrush was broken incidentally and previous to that night.

We all know that JBR and other children can be exposed to a criminal element during beauty pageants. Regardless of the IDI scenario it is not going to surprise me at all if the pageants were a factor.

I noticed that NK coincidentally shuns beauty pageants for some reason that I can only speculate. THey've been invited but wont do it and I would like to know specifically why, since they compete in olympics and soccer. NK seems to be having some 'issues' with beauty pageants. I am simply wondering why NK doesn't like beauty pageants, even adult ones.

Another poster freshwater notes that $118,000 converted to the Korean currency is equal to almost exactly 100,000,000 Won. The conversion around Dec 25 1996 was to mulitply US dollars by 847. The conversion from $118,000 to 100,000,000 won was exact within 0.05%.

People are entitled to form opinions regardless of what theories the media are supporting.

Just because there is a media backing doesn't make it any more true. Unless they were observing the events of that night first hand, no-one can say for absolute 100% definite exactly who killed JBR. People can, however, form opinions based on facts and evidence. We may not all come to the same opinions but that's true with anything, not just this case.

I believe that RDI, but I would stand back and admit I was wrong if it was proved without doubt that the Ramsays weren't involved in their child's death, but i'm not willing to do that based on what the media say.

That figure 118,000.00 has significance to several suspects as well. I was shocked to find so many ties to that figure in both Thomas's and Schiller's books.

The post that had a link to the Lindbergh kidnapping was quite shocking.
I had no idea Lindbergh was so evasive and uncooperative with police and FBI. The connection to Stormin' Norman also surprised me.

Cathy, I have longed believed there are similarities in the Lindbergh case and that of JonBenet. Call me conspiracy theorist if you like, but the wrong man was executed for that baby's death. Way too many inconsistancies. And what about Charles Lindbergh's previous idea of a practical joke? If that case had happened in this day and age, I believe we would have seen a thoroughly different outcome. But then again, Lindbergh was an American Hero and we all know how justice plays out for the American Elite.

Satisfying the sponsors by drawing the largest number of viewers/listeners is what mostly supports the media. One way they do that is by creating controversy.

I think if everyone believe what is printed in the media all the time there'd be problems.
I used to think that before a story ran in a newspaper or was annouced online they had checked it out but after having been following a couple of other cases on websleths, i have changed my mind.
so often nowadays the media companies are all looking for the biggest scope and will report a story then corrected it several times throughout the day as they find the truth.

Anti-media.

The only places I know on earth that are anti-media are communist and socialist societies. They own the media to control the populace. If someone prints the wrong content it is stricken by the government.

HEre we are free to select between different sources. Multiple and free media sources are absolutely vital to a free society. It provides checks and balances beyond the government.

When all the free sources are saying DNA and exhoneration, I can't help but think its bad for RDI. Denying that its bad makes it even worse.

Why would we need the approval/agreement of the media to believe in RDI?

Are you trying to imply that the mainstream media is accurate ? Is the media supposed to be some kind of hallmark for what's true?

Are you trying to imply that the media would actually investigate something? Most journos wouldn't get out of their chair to investigate a trash can fire in their own office.

Most members of the media are so lazy they'd rather just parrot Mary Lacy's every word than do any actual thinking.

No, it doesn't bother me at all that the media doesn't "support" us.

Me, neither. People forget that Socrates was forced to drink poison, that Gallileo was excommunicated by the Catholic Church, or that Solzhenitsyn was forced to leave his home country. Compared to all of that, what the media does or doesn't say really don't faze me.

The following is true, and is really all that’s needed by way of rebuttal:
Most journos wouldn't get out of their chair to investigate a trash can fire in their own office.
Most members of the media are so lazy they'd rather just parrot Mary Lacy's every word than do any actual thinking.

As a perfect illustration that that is true, we need to look no further than the current status of the so called “exoneration” of the Ramseys.
I guess since you apparently only rely on the MSM for case information you have missed something. The Ramseys are no longer exonerated.
[ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117504"]The Ramseys are no longer “cleared” according to Stan Garnett - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]
The fact of the matter is that Stan Garnett has un-exonerated the Ramseys and yet the infallible, almighty mainstream media has not reported this. Why?
The answer is laziness; I guess because it wasn’t served up for them for them on a silver platter, perhaps by way of a press conference, they are completely oblivious to it.
Perhaps they are too busy reporting about the latest ambassador to the UN, you know the one, the ambassador to extraterrestrials?
Real-Life Men in Black? UN to Appoint Space Ambassador

Malaysian astrophysicist Mazlan Othman may add a new job to her resume. She is currently director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), which deals space-related issues, ranging from international cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space to managing the growing problem of space debris.
According to numerous reports, Othman will be named as the UN ambassador to extraterrestrials, if and when they contact humanity. The post will require approval from UN scientific advisory committees and the General Assembly.
http://newsfeed.time.com/2010/09/27/real-life-men-in-black-un-to-appoint-space-ambassador/

Pretty impressive, right? The story, which was picked up by multiple news outlets, turned out to be a hoax. It was yet another example, of which there are many, that given the choice of actually investigating, or blind acceptance, the MSM will take the easy route and accept something that is spoon-fed to them regardless of veracity.
The MSM is little more than a reasonably well paid parrot. It is up to you to investigate what is said.
So I hope you will excuse me if I don’t rely on the MSM for my information and conclusions regarding the JonBenet case. If I did, like you, I would still be under the impression that the Ramseys were exonerated.

Islam has a very strong presence in North Korea. That would be my MAIN theory for why beauty pageants are shunned there.

Islam has no presence in North Korea.

Probably the past excuse for NK's absense from the beauty pageants is that they were behind the iron curtain. Now, most every country that used to be behind the iron curtain is in both Miss World and Miss Universe.

Traditionally, religion in North Korea primarily consists of Buddhism and Confucianism and to a lesser extent Korean shamanism and syncretic Chondogyo. Since the arrival of Europeans in the 18th century, there is also a Christian minority. According to the Central Intelligence Agency, since the rise of Stalinism, free religious activities no longer exist as the government sponsors religious groups only to create an illusion of religious freedom.[1]

Many countries with these religions are in the pageants. The excuse for NK's non-participation is no longer the iron curtain, and isn't religion either. However they participate in soccer and olympics.

Islam has no presence in North Korea.

This is false. Islam DOES have a presence in North Korea. Please don't take my word for it. Google "islam and north korea" and it will pull up LOTS of links. Islam is the second most professed religion in North Korea.

Anti-media.

I wouln't say I was "anti-media". I read newspapers, magazines, lots of books, watch the news and look online. It doesn't mean i have to agree with everything that emerges from the media. We all have our own minds, we choose to believe what we want to believe based on the material.

All of the places I mentioned above are very good resources for information, would we even know about this or any other case if it wasn't for them, but they print/broadcast what sells and sometimes facts get lost in that.

And it also comes down to a person's own interpretation of what they are reading/hearing.

I don't mean to trivialise, but a prime example of how the media can get it wrong was here in the UK, a footballer was said to have had and affair and got his wife's 16 year old sister pregnant. OMG shocking right? When you delved a little deeper you found that not only did his wife not have a 16 year old sister, she didn't have a sister at all, only brothers. See completely wrong.
