I was wondering if these long defendant statements before sentencing were typical, or reserved for murder cases.

Anytime I’ve been in court pleading my case, judge stamps my speeding ticket with “guilty”, points to the door where I must go pay it, slams his gavel, and yells “Next”. I never get to tell my side!
