The block of Grove Street in Chippewa Falls, where Lily Peter’s aunts house is, now blocked by squads with an investigative van out front. The street has been busy with police all day, but it was not blocked earlier. https://t.co/Vj85KUY5W5

Confirmed that is the Eau Claire Police Department crime lab. Several boxes were just carried out of the home and into the van, which then pulled away.

And they just put crime scene tape around the home. https://t.co/4X6HwGuqqv

I wonder if this means at least part of the crime took place in the house. I'm not sure if the juvenile actually lives in the house, but maybe the evidence they are taking out of the house are his things (i.e., journals, computer, etc.) or perhaps Lily was lured there and then attacked. MOO.

Just a completely unnecessary tragedy.

I am trying to tread lightly here, and not get in trouble. I keep seeing "the block where Lily Peters' aunt's house is..." Has it been confirmed on MSM that the house where the warrant was served, and evidence was removed, is actually the aunt's house?

Lily Peters update: Chippewa Falls police announce arrest of juvenile suspect – FOX News
<snipped & BBM>
Police served a search warrant at 422 North Grove Street on Tuesday, the chief said. Public records indicate the address has been linked to her relatives.

Earlier in the day, police executed a search warrant at 422 N. Grove St., the home of Lily's aunt and the last place the girl was seen before she disappeared Sunday. Kelm said the search warrant was for "information tied to the killing."

Thank you! I knew that I had seen it, but I couldn't find a link, and the last thread disappeared.

Per the report below, the teenager they arrested may have been related to her. They executed a search warrant on the house that her aunt owns and were seen carrying out boxes.

Lily Peters update: Chippewa Falls police announce arrest of juvenile suspect

In this day and age, there are so many blended families that one never knows for certain if related to the victim. For example, a trial I've been watching just concluded where a six-year-old little boy (Logan Mwangi) was murdered and his mother, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend's 14 yr old ward were all convicted of his murder. MOO

I pray this is not a description of the juvenile that allegedly killed Lily. Please let it be somebody else:

Chippewa Falls neighbors remain on edge after Lily Peters death

4/26/22

"When we get more info, if he’s caught or not," Jeremy Machnik, standing outside his home with his wife, Shelby told FOX 9. "He could be in Florida by now, he could be a block away. We don’t know."

[..]

The Machniks live on Grove Street, where Lily spent that Sunday, and they recall seeing her that day, as they often did when she was at her relatives.

"Between about 1 and 3 [p.m.], one of her cousins was on a hoverboard, he had his hands behind his back and she was on rollerblades holding on. And they were scooting down the street just laughing," said Jeremy.

Shelby Machnik is no longer letting her own kids outside on their own, noting the heavy police presence provides some comfort, but far short of what answers would bring.

"As far as we know," she said, "it could be anybody in this neighborhood. And that’s just not sitting with me at all."
