Why would they give him a mental evaluation? He can't be found legally insane as he planned how to get away with these crimes and then tried to hide it. He knew right from wrong.
But idk maybe him having some mental something might get him medication or something so he doesn't have these fantasies? idk.
If he doesn't take a plea and goes to trial, they'll try whatever they can.
Even if he is locked up forever, which is likely, a mental evaluation and subsequent counseling/medication for any health issues he may have would be helpful in the long-term. As far as he goes, I could care less if he's taken care of health wise, but there are others to consider. Prison employees and other prisoners will also have to live and work with him so their safety must be considered as well.
