It would be difficult to ID her from the picture on the alert.

I was in a store the other day and saw a teenager who superficially reminded me of Jayme. I gave her a second look, while I quickly considered what I would do if I did think it could be her. Then I realized the girl was at least 5'8". They might change her appearance, but pretty sure they won't make her taller. :)

Hello, first timer here. I’ve enjoyed reading all the posts. The ‘wrong house’ theory is an interesting one and makes me think. There was an unsolved murder in Ohio (Dan Ott) for years and that one turned out to be a case of mistaken identity; the hit man targeted the wrong Dan Ott.

Welcome stephlovescheese. :):):)
Your first post here.
Yes, just reading the many posts, helps us in trying to identify key points, with a great deal of speculation added.

It sounds like pre arranged vacation days to me. Gotta use your vacation time for something.

I agree. I don't see anything strange about it at all. Also last time I checked, enjoying some drinks, watching a game and having a hangover is not a crime nor does it indicate any sort of problem so I'm not sure why some in the thread have said this is victim blaming (not directed at you).

i think that's what we speculated, but i do not think any of us know for sure. (someone correct me if i'm wrong plz).
On the time line is says on 10/15/18 at 4:25am The responding officer at the home, advised deputies are going to [address removed].
At 4:32am deputies contacted security at St. Croix Casino and requested they contact responding officer.

Thank you, MollyandMe, but the area of child and teen psychology is entirely different from what I practice and from what happened to me as a survivor of a stalker.
I was a mature woman, he was a more mature man. I was objectified without knowing it ( who knows what another person is thinking most of the time?) and it was an extremely scary and horrifying experience to be restrained and terrorized for around 48 hours.

IF the person in this case whom we believe was abducted wasn't of an unequal status ( very young teen with different skill sets and life knowledge) from her likely abductor and also a very different aged person than me at the time I was abducted, I would be glad to tell what I can. But the differences are myriad in my opinion. I can't understand how a barely 13 year old small girl could survive any brutality at all.

I sat and thought this through, and anything I'd say about Jayme after abduction other than if she was conscious, she was utterly terrified, would do her an injustice.

God bless you for remembering my career and my life experience as a hostage. :)

Seeking Jana.
When you write your book, with all your experiences, both personal and in your career, remember me.:):):).
You certainly have experienced a great deal of tragedy.
Your book would be most informative and helpful to others.
Of coarse, if you write!

If I knew the area; From the house, head north or south on 12th or 13th Street which leaves Route 8 behind almost immediately. Then just keep on going at a reasonable driving speed while using only the back roads.

FWIW when I lived up that way I would take the back roads when I wanted to go fast. You can haul *** on those gravel roads. There's a cross road every mile so you slow down a little to see if someone's on the other road, but then nail it again. Very little traffic, almost never cops.
But when you don't know the local roads you never take the gravel roads.

I had zero idea they had located the phone used to call 911. I must have missed more in these posts than I thought. I work in southern WI, and we all got the same Amber Alert at the same time at work so have been following collectively. Wonder what other important facts I've missed. TY for pointing this out.
My brother and sister in Spooner received the same Amber Alert. Both tell me they are nervous wrecks. They live about 1/2 hour away. My sister was going to join in the search parties until they called them off.

If Denise had already turned in for the night before the intruder arrived, then she may have turned the ringer off and put the phone on Do Not Disturb. Could explain why the phone went to voice mail when the 911 operator tried to call back.

If no one answered, would the phone go to voice mail? If Jayme was hiding and had made the 911 call, I imagine she would panic if it started ringing and revealed her location.

So it seems the best we can come up with is meth users at the wrong house breaking in to steal a cheap drug and/or whatever money/valuables they have and killing two people in the process (leaving one person missing endangered?)

This does not seem like a strong motive although meth users may act in a violent manner.

I think the perps had a scanner (or a scanner app on their phone) and knew the police were on the way. For the same reason, I think they knew the earlier gunshots had raised no alarm.

I discount this possibility only because the intruder’s cellphone would have pinged the closest tower and LE would hopefully have that information by now.

I’ve read a few theories on it being a coworker. I strongly doubt this. By now, I would think a coworker would be noticed acting strangely/having disappeared.

It feels like this is fading fast.

What about maybe an ex co worker? I think as we have discussed, it obviously all goes back to motive and I hope and pray LE/FBI are closer to figuring that out, or at least running parallel lines of investigation into different possible motives.

I strongly Disagree. The problem with other theories is that it's hard to really discuss them based on the limited information provided to the public

I think it's pretty darn common in Wisconsin.
I agree. The midwest in general. Im in a connecting state where most people in rural areas do. Hunting towns and wooded areas especially. Not necessarily to shoot people, but wild animals, especially ones on your property. I think if youre not from the country, you dont understand the country. Its a way of life thats just different. When I was a kid it was very common to see shotguns everywhere. Laws changed so they are concealed now, but theyre still there.

I think that's what LE believes. Something gave them the impression that James was in the house when the door was kicked in. Jmo
Agreed....

You are correct we know they went there. I meant we don't know what they were there for. The security video and/or something else?
