The Closs home had an attached garage. I think most folks do prefer attached-garage entries because they have remote openers for garage doors. It's also the door usually closest to vehicles. We never enter our front door because we keep it dead-bolted when we're not here and don't want the hassle of using a key. JMO

Yet neither of their cars were parked in the garage. Both were outside.

Assuming Jayme was the target, then someone had to have observed her, interacted with her, or actually known her. In other words, not a case of someone seeing a kid once in a Walmart.

So considering that, here's a list of the places we know for a fact that Jayme frequented:

Her own home
Christine's Dance Studio
Church ( St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cameron, I believe)
The Home of her " care taker "
School
The homes of family members
Possibly the homes of her friends
Social Media

Am I missing anything ?

My experience leads me to warn against assuming an LE source or FBI source is actually involved in the case.

Way back when we had a serial killer operating in our area, there were several reports attributed to "a police source close to the investigation." The source turned out to be the retired officer they had brought back to direct traffic on the street that went past the area where the bodies were being recovered. He wasn't even close enough to the scene to see it from where he was working.

Yeah the person needs to be fired. But it's highly unlikely that they're an agent or investigator. More likely the person answering the telephone.

For quite awhile, there was speculation about the 'East Area Rapist' having Police info etc.
Then found to be an Ex Cop.:(:(

I certainly am not suggesting any Police involvement here.
MOO.

I believe the perp came for Jayme as I've stated.
I also believe the perp was known to the parents and Jayme and was not a random stranger. I'll be really surprised if it's otherwise.
With that being said, I hope LE has someone in mind for this but can't say just yet. jmo

Just checking in today for any hopeful news. The only two certain things I know.....1.) The evil person(s) knew the family 2.) The evil person(s) is a complete stranger. I remember a case a few years old in Ohio where the whole extended family was murdered and it remains unsolved to this day. The community suspects the family was involved in drugs, etc. I do find it a bit strange that the family has not said anything more other than the relative coming out in public with Jayme's dog. But then what more can they say? Sometimes the families will have one spokesperson who talk to the public.

The skating rink her mom took her to.

This is an excellent discussion you have started MountainKat.
There are also secondary places we don't "know" for sure, but since Mother and daughter were as "close as peas in a pod" ...
then maybe
a) regular food shopping together (which stores were frequented by them)
b) public library?
c) any cross-country courses, as she was an avid runner?

I think they likely had remote garage door openers in their vehicles.
This may seem strange, but I know someone who moved into a raised ranch on a hillside, very similar to theirs, with a 2-car garage in the basement area, that was built in the early 1970s... and there was NO staircase built in the basement to take you to the main living level!! If you pulled into the garage, you had to exit the garage, walk outside and use the front or back door to enter the house. So bizarre! Perhaps this was their setup, too. Or they just had alot of "stuff" so no room to hold even one vehicle in the garage area, which is common.

I think some are just uncomfortable speaking in public.

We have to remember we have approximately 50k go missing every year. Many of the family members dont speak to the media and leave it up to the police.

Imo many may be afraid they may say something the police doesn't want released.

Yes, I would think so. I just wonder why they didn't park in the garage. And I'm actually more curious as to why James' truck was parked much further up in the driveway, not directly behind or next to, Denise's car.
I don't know why my reply is in with the quote? My fingers are not working today obviously

Me too, all of the above.

In the appeal made by the family at the one press conference her aunt mentioned about Jayme jogging with another aunt.

My thinking though is more along the lines of where someone might have frequent access to Jayme. You don't always see the same people in stores or at the library. I had forgotten about her being an avid runner, though. Wonder if this was strictly through school or if there was some other running path she frequented closs to home. The house is so rural...are there even any running paths close by ?
