I would not let my daughter go on the news and talk. if the town knows as much as we do, the parents are probably scared to let their kids out ot sigh, no less put them in front of the camera

what about the adults, surely the parents had some friends. seems to me everyone is either very afraid or trying to make nice and biteing their tounge. I would have expected some desperation or anger to show up by now and someone to talk more. I don't know what I would do in the familys position but I do feel like I wouldn't be able to stand the thoughts in my own mind to stay shut up, anger or desperation would excape even if I tried to be compliant with a LE request to stay quiet, and we don't know if they have been ask to stay quiet.

I can't read all the posts in this thread, it's just too huge for my timelines.. but.. the article I read last night.. have you guys talked about this?

"According to the family Denise and Jayme were 'inseparable' but they describe a certain disconnect between James and the rest of the family.
He often arrived at events in a separate car as he often left early while Denise would be the last to leave."

Is it possible......... as a potential theory to consider...... that something...... way late at night.... after Jayme was asleep in bed...... the husband/dad got home (from wherever.. whether work, casino, friend's, unknown..)... late... and he and the wife got into it.. 'where have you BEEN??'.. blah blah... a big fight erupts.. husband shoots wife... Jayme goes to her, calls cops.. dad drops the gun and can't believe what he just did.. Jayme grabs the gun and shoots dad.. takes off, has the gun with her..

Of course, that doesn't explain how she got away. on her own, for so long, without being picked up/reported. Doesn't explain where did that gun come from (unless dad happened to have an unregistered gun in addition to his other registered guns?? that could very well be??);

Or.. you know.. other potential 'story lines' come to my mind too.. something with potentially dad coming home perhaps intoxicated (we've heard he likes to drink while watching games, right? so why not other times as well?) very late, while the females are asleep, didn't have his house key, bashes in the door, and then did something bad to the girl, perhaps in his intoxication, and mom catching him... and mayhem erupts as above, except opposite... and same outcome as above.

If Jayme took off on her own by foot, it would explain lack of seeing potential get-away vehicles.. is it possible she went to someone she trusts and they took her out of state or something? Or saw someone driving by that she knew and waved them down and hopped in and went out of state, etc.

Also, did we know that both spouses had been previously married?

"Jennifer said: 'They had both been married before but there was no bad blood there.'"

And I suppose this is out of the question? Or even the other way, that James could have been having an affair?:

"Both she and Suzy dismissed the suggestion, circulating locally, that Denise was having an affair and that a scorned lover carried out the attack after she called it off."

A thought I had from the beginning...
What if Denise had a “ male friend “ over the house thinking James was working that night or wouldn’t be home until much later . Jayme could have been sound asleep or thought of the male as just Denise’s friend .
James comes home and in a rage & knocks down the door and has a gun with him and shoots Denise. The male friend or Jayme then shoots James near the front door .He feels responsible for Jayme and takes her with him . She goes if she feels she is in trouble. JMO .

Don’t discredit your initial instinct.

These photos seem to be of the same sliding door. There is black plastic behind the sliding doors and it does not seem like something a family would hang but rather LE to prevent eyes on the crime scene.

On closer look of the silicone window stickers, they appear to be the same, maybe a couple were removed and placed into evidence bags making the third photo look like it was missing a few of the stickers.

Some very good alternate ideas. I've been curious why Jame's family is so quiet... Denise's family is also very quiet considering the circumstances.... if it was my sister or brother and niece I would be much more vocal and trying to bring that girl home..something just odd with all of this
Not me. I'd be scared to death they would be kicking my door in and shooting me and mine.
This was a brutal attack and whomever did this has nothing to lose. Dangerous.

I’ve tried to stay on top of reading all the threads since the beginning but I am really bothered by the location of James truck.

I know it has come up but why was it not parked near the carport/garage with Denise’s car?

Perhaps someone was at their house when he came back and he knew they would want to pull out so he didn’t park behind them and he didn’t park behind Denise because she would be leaving before him in the morning.

There are just so many unanswered questions.

..... Nor do I believe that Jayme could have shot her “knight in shining armor” on the spur of the moment.
Sorry, you've lost me.... can you please elaborate? I wasn't talking about Jayme shooting her knight in shining armor in my post that you are replying to?

I missed the part about where that truck had been parked.. but yes, that is VERY interesting. I watched a news video which showed me what you are talking about. Too bad he didn't park right directly immediately behind the other vehicle, if there was one. What explanation could there be for him parking that way? Who wants to park on the road in the country when it's a further walk to the door, when they can park in the driveway? Do you know where there is a good shot of how he parked? The one I saw looked as if he could have been crosswise behind his wife's vehicle at the end of the driveway?

I would expect this too from some. there should be a broad spectrum of people there, I would expect different reactions and actions, but it seems everyone will not talk for some reason. from the outside looking in it almost feels like this crime is wanted to fade from the spotlight, for the people on the outside to not keep it on their mind.

I have not said anything about the door being kicked in before, however, it is not a difficult thing to do IMO. An untrained son, in his thirties, kicked my metal front door in on three kicks. It didn’t make that much noise and the only damage was the molding from the lock to the floor.

IIRC, LE focused a lot of attention on the deck the next day
(from reports in MSM articles). It is my belief that Jayme went through the sliding doors leading onto the deck. I don’t believe a perp(s) would walk her past her dead parents or if she ran out on her own, she would go pass them.

the only thing about truck parking I have seen the truck is parked along the side of the drive, not near the road, just pulled not all the way up to house and along side. could have been a regular parking spot.

I would think if circuit breaker switched off he could avoid doorbell camera or any lights...then Night vision googles..kick in door ... then turkey shoot begins..

Does ring camera capture highway or overlap highway .. hope to goodness somebody does close by?? And got perp coming / going ..
BBM....No actually on my security system it doesn't matter if the power is out/cut or even the cable, it still records via wifi signal and is stored in cloud or on any device.

Yes, my doorbell camera has a wide angle lens that sees the street running in front of my home.

Maybe they have been advised to limit contact with media and maybe they/LE know more than what they've told. Also, I am sure they are afraid for their own safety. IDK could be valid reasons for not speaking out more at this time.

Neighbors report hearing 2 large caliber gunshots early this AM. Describe Closs family as "extremely quiet, almost reclusive." Now just praying 13yo Jayme Closs turns up safe. Still no word on her whereabouts more than 12 hours after the shooting at family home on Hwy 8, Barron

This is obviously from early on... but interesting that the neighbour who heard the shots describe the family that way. Interesting to me anyway. From other reports, it seemed like the mom was quite social. I wonder why they would seem stifled, silent and 'reclusive' as a family at their own home?

Another thing I notice from the pictures is could the kitchen dining room be on the front of the house on the right? Looking into the pictures posted on page #17 #338 in the middle photo, is that a light over a kitchen sink that looks like three bulbs together?

Since we're sort of stuck with no new info, I thought I'd share an anecdote from my late uncle, who was LE for 40 years in his small hometown. He always used to say, "Criminals are stupid. And they always screw something up. Always. You just gotta wait 'em out." That's where we're all at now. As maddening as this case is, we just gotta wait 'em out.

They're holding a candlelight memorial around 4:30 pm IIRC for Jayme at the BCCC. The Amber Alert is still active and Fitzgerald has given a few updates when possible. IDK what else publicly they can do, but we have no idea at what is going on behind the scenes.

I'm sure DNA testing is continuing to come in, tips being reworked, digital footprints being combed over again, re-interviewing family, friends, coworkers and any surveillance videos. I think they're doing all they can to solve this IMO.
