There are some things obviously missing in the case. We need to go back as far as when Denise and James graduated from high school. What do friends say? Neighbors? What about the place they previously lived? Has anyone given even a sentence about them? Previous relatives from previous marriages? Did they belong to clubs? Frequent certain places? In past years? Just some rambling thoughts, but I think they might be important.

not a rumor, i do believe this info came straight from Denise's family although i don't have the source for it readily at my fingertips right now.
Supposedly, family members were told James didn't attend the gathering because he was working. However, it has not been verified that James, indeed, did work that Sunday.

“Jayme Closs, despite her young age, also has a Facebook page.

“I love to dance at Christine’s Dance Jazz, ice-skating, valleyball (sic), swim, Art, cross country, Track, Dance,” Jayme wrote on her Facebook page, which she filled with photos of herself with a middle school sports team and in dance outfits.

Diane Tremblay, the administrator of the Barron Area School District, said in a news conference that Jayme Closs is a “sweet girl who is a loyal friend and loves to dance” and is a member of the cross country team.

She recalled how a school assignments asked Jayme what she would do with $1 million and Jayme answered that she would “feed the hungry and give the rest to the poor.”“

Are FB and LE able to view a log of who all might have viewed her Facebook page?

I know that Search Warrants for her SM would show with whom all she might have communicated or been friends with, but does FB have a log per say that they can share with LE who all views a certain Facebook user’s page? I don’t recall any reference to this from past cases.

Here’s another thought, were any of her recital videos, etc ever posted on YouTube? Sorry if already mentioned. (Ugh so creepy to even think about this, I know people who post their children’s recitals, etc all the time on the web...).

If I remember correctly you can view all past activity from facebook on the activity log from within your account. Its like an archive.

No it shows your activity only :)

(I didn’t thiiiink so (phew), scared me for a minute though haha (al though it could be potentially helpful for LE in cases like this).

I do wonder if FB themselves can see this though, surely they can...anyone? I haven’t seen this mentioned in any other cases that I recall as far as what LE receives specifically from FB on a warrant...

The question for google is does Facebook have a record of who views a particular FB user’s page(s)..surely they can pull IP addresses and user profiles of those who have viewed a FB page of someone else that is not a “friend”, etc ...note to pick up here, zzzzz...

Not sure it shows who comments and likes your posts and whose posts you like if I remember correctly there was at some point something that gave an insight as to who was lurking on your FB page but I have forgotten where that was or even if it exists any more, something like people who have recently viewed your profile.

Why Jayme wasn’t killed inside the house is the most stymying part. I know the investigators believe she was in the house (I believe that may be something from the 911 call) but, in trying to make sense of it, is trying to find a way that is possible, that Jayme was in the house. You would think there would be footprints in the blood if the perp(s) went through the front door of the home to drag her out, or she would have stepped through it if a gun was pointed at her and was forced out the front door.

So two theories, and both involve the deck on the side of the home.

1) The screen door off the deck might be another entry or exit point. No word one from the dispatch report if it was opened or closed or locked when first responders arrived. The door off the deck could be a way she could exit (as I recall, her bedroom was close to that area) and was caught in the yard.

2) Two people were involved. One breached the front door. The other was stationed on the deck.

My opinion only.

It’s also possible that Jayme tried to make a run for it and went out the side/back door and was taken outside-not from within the home.

I’ll say again though that taking her in any way in such a short time with no one seeing a vehicle leave seems implausible to me.

This shoulda been done 2 months ago... you can view who’s viewed Facebook page last year... don’t know if any odd people have pinged her site but if jenni o truck driver visited her site often. That’s odd af.

Plus that weirdo on Pinterest... there’s videos of him taking to young girls ...

Photo of him : cut pasted with jayme or weird photo they thought was him and Jayme.... would make sense to just say that guys a creep but cleared...

If there photoshopping weirdos on Pinterest... think case is cold.

Unless they have legit POI. Don’t see how this changes in 10 years without the perp arrest on other charges or relationship changes...

i would guess that they do. not proud of it, lol, but i've done my fair share of FB stalking and FB has then suggested that person to me as a friend...so there's some algorithm there. i'm not techy at all so beyond that i have no idea how long FB stores that info or what exactly they are able to pull from it (like IP addresses, etc.)

There's also the legal aspect of it that probably comes into play...again i have very limited knowledge in this area but i'm not sure FB could or would just easily hand over that information to LE without some sort of court order? Even though there's an endangered missing person, it's also not a crime in and of itself to view someone's social media profile so FB probably wants to be careful . Especially since they've recently come under fire for the 2016 election Russian interference, questionable gathering of user data, etc.

The Closs case is almost identical to the Short family murders in 2002: A home invasion, both parents murdered, a female child abducted, the family lived next to a busy highway. A person of interest in the Short murders was a truck driver who was spotted lurking near the victim's home. I would look at truck routes going past the Closs home, seeing if any truckers regularly made the run at the same time Jayme was waiting for her bus.

I can't believe after all this time this case is pretty much dead with nothing to go on. I really thought with the level of violence and the amateur hour style of breaking through the front door that there would be evidence galore and they'd soon catch the perp(s)

I pray this is one of them miracle cases where the victim turns up alive months later, but frankly I think the next time we get any sort of break in this case it will be because they've located Jayme's body.

I agree, we have at least 3 major crimes committed (2 murders and an abduction) and most likely more depending on what ultimately happened or happens to Jayme. But that's why I think this case is totally solvable. A crime this major is going to be hard to hide for the long term...whether it's physical evidence, or someone finally submitting the tip LE needs. And sadly it may take many years (really hope not) but I truly believe we will get answers someday and this can't remain a mystery forever. JMO

The similarities have been discussed occasionally -- they do stand out.

There's been a bit of publicity about the Short case this year. I wondered if this triggered the Short perp or emboldened a copy cat. Pretty unlikely, I think, but there's so little to go on with this case I don't think you can discount the possibility.

Dear MesquiteO21,

I agree with you that this will be solved eventually. Along with everyone else, I hope that this perpetrator is identified and soon.

The authorities do have data from surveillance cams along the highway (also across from that casino) as well as other cams close by. I wonder if the tire tracks left any clues.

It is possible that the one tip they need may still be forthcoming. Sometimes people don't realize that they noticed something that is important.

To me this horrid crime feels as if it happened a year ago - but it was less than 3 months ago. I have faith in this investigative team and am hoping and praying that they discover the answers they need to find whoever did this.
