I think they were meeting her there and had a bead on her already :twocents:

I think he was in the car with her until shortly before she met LE and she dumped him across the street.

Until we know the time of the call from LE we won't really know???? but they were almost 200 miles from last seen.. so anything is possible.

I wonder if she just recently had a baby herself and could have some PPD going on? (just thinking here)

I agree. I think she panicked and left him. I read something earlier that said she was arrested at around 5am. Could an infant survive that long all bundled up without skin exposed? I'm not sure but I think an adult could. Those who haven't ever felt temps like this would think not but I live in this frozen tundra and our kids still play outside when it's this cold.

It didn't change, I promise.
She has been Kris Smithinbelle since the news broke about Kayden being missing. :twocents:

There are others on facebook friends lists... Krista and Kristen. But THIS one stayed the same.

I can vouch for that too, I never saw it change from Kris Smithinbelle and I looked before she was arrested too.

What if she did have someone helping her with this and once she was caught she gave the baby to them and while talking to investigators they worked out a deal to have the other person drop the baby off somewhere?

That's what I don't understand.

Also, since she was phoned by police and asked to meet, why not drop Kayden off at a gas station then drive back towards WI to meet with police? They wouldn't have had reason to believe she was further south than where they arrested her. They would have never found Kayden.

Something about this just isn't making sense to me. Well a lot of it isn't making sense. But I don't think Kayden spent the night in a bag outside a gas station. I don't think Kristen acted alone, if she was involved at all.

Kayden was not found in a bag. He was found in a tote.

Just speculating but I'm thinking it was one of these plastic totes that convenience stores receive their orders in. These were likely stacked up outside the store and KS used one as a bassinet.

These plastic totes would provide excellent protection from the wind. Had Kayden been left in just a fabric tote bag or back pack I think the outcome would have been far less favorable.

I guess I thought it was a duffel or tote bag. Due to this type of description:

Kayden was found inside of a tote bag, swaddled in clothes and blankets. That tote bag was outside.

Over 24 hours? Kids play for a couple of hours.

If he was really in a plastic tote that would make things a bit different. Definitely.
I wonder if there would be fingerprints on that or if Kristen wore gloves because of the cold?

The scanner appears to support him being found in a tote not a bag:

Do you have a theory?

I just think him being found where he was, means absolutely nothing.
Where Kristen was arrested was widely publicized.
It seems oddly easy to wrap it up that he was found there.
If I had Kayden and was watching the news, I would drop him off there too!

I don't see any PROOF of anyone's guilt yet. But like I said, if they have it that's great.
If Kristen did do this and act alone... then her motive certainly wasn't raising the baby herself.
If she wanted this baby herself she wouldn't have left him outside to die while she was in jail.

I am just not sure he was outside with those temperatures for 29 hours.
And if he wasn't, then Kristen couldn't have done this by herself. She was in custody for those 29 hours. :twocents:

KS was notified about Kayden being missing before LE called her (check the scanner)

Listening to the police audio nurse posted when Kayden was found, the officer said he was in a 'plastic tote'

Didn't the police say when they searched KS's car she has plastic boxes of clothes and items in there?

I'm thinking of something like this

ETA: Great minds Joe!

I actually did! hahahaha!!! sorry but that is like the worst EVER name for a gas station ever on the face of the planet! :twocents::twocents:

There used to be a chain in Texas called Squat 'n' Gobble. There's also a Town Pump in Montana. One of my favorite "wrong" retail names is the store in Springdale, AR, called Liquor Hiway.

OMG, I just logged in and was really dreading what I might find as I checked on a status. What a wonderful surprise! We don't get many happy endings like this. He is alive and safe! :loveyou::loveyou::loveyou:

So if the tote belonged to Kristen and not to the gas station, there should be fingerprints on it. :twocents:
Hopefully that is the case.

Funny you say that because for some reason I got the impression from the scanner recording that it was a plastic tote.

We've had a wind chill advisory since Tuesday night. It's been -10 - -20 and with wind chills close to -30. You let your kids play for a couple hours in negative temps? Even the nightly news here says frost bite and hypothermia can occur in less than 30 minutes. No way a 5 day old was left for 24 hours. IMO

I was concerned he would suffocate when I thought it was a tote bag, but a plastic tote? How did he breathe? Was it left partially open? If it was open, how did he not freeze to death?

Over 24 hours? Kids play for a couple of hours.

Definitely not 24 hours. I thought she was arrested at 5am and the baby was found at around 10am the same day. Was he found in the tote the day AFTER she was arrested? If so, then no way...there must have been someone else with her. If it had been 5 hours or so, that is a different story and quite possibly survivable IMO.

At -8 degrees (the temp last night in West Bend, IA), that plastic tote would not keep him warm enough to survive, IMO. There was no wind to speak of. Seems like even if she thought he might not freeze, she ought to have been afraid he would suffocate.
