HAPPENING NOW: Police arrest person of interest in missing baby, arrest made in Iowa

TOWN OF BELOIT (WKOW) --- The Town of Beloit Police Chief tells 27 News a person of interest in missing 5-day-old Kayden J. Powell has been arrested in Iowa.

The Police Chief tells us the woman was arrested in connection to a fraud warrant. She has not been charged in the disappearance of Kayden.

5-day-old Kayden is still missing at this time.

Family members tell 27 News the woman arrested presented herself to them as the child's mother's sister on the mother's father's side.

Generally these are a family member and I am going to hope for that until proven otherwise. :twocents:

I'm a little confused. Does this mean she was arrested on an unrelated warrant?

And it sounds like she in not related to the father of Kayden, but a half or step-sister to his mother. . .through the mother's dad.
 
The person of interest is the child's mother's sister on the mother's father's side.

A sister of the MOTHER on HER father's side.
So either her half sister, sharing a father or her stepsister from a marriage of her fathers.
This isn't a relative of the father, it's a relative of the mother.

It sounds like they arrested her on the warrant so they could question her about Kayden.

Kayden's mother, Brianna Marshall, 18, called police about her son and was interviewed, along with the infant's father, Bruce Powell, 23, and two relatives, Kopp said. They were all in the house at the time of the disappearance and are not suspects, Kopp said.

Other family members and friends are being interviewed, Kopp said.

No, the reporter said it didn't appear they found anything.
We say in every case they need to STOP the garbage and check it.
Too many kids have made it all the way to the landfill and never been found.
This is standard procedure and does NOT mean they believe he is in there.
