So glad this case is finally moving but why now? It doesn't APPEAR that they have anything more than the evidence they had collected on March 23rd and March 31, 2017; at least not anything they are revealing.

Did someone else know and confess? Did they decide to sit on it for 17 months to see if they could get more evidence/a body and decide to just press charges now without one or any new evidence?

Really curious about this.

17 Months After Wisc. Mom Vanishes, Husband Charged After Dogs Detect Human Remains in His Truck
Krista’s body has not been found, but according to the complaint, which was also obtained by The Point/Plover Metro Wire, a K9 unit detected human remains in the couple’s bedroom, in a bathroom drain, in Sypher’s truck and on laundered clothing in the washing machine.

The complaint also alleges that during interviews with police, Sypher himself and the couple’s children described a marriage marked by violence and infidelity.
The complaint alleges that Jason bought 39-gallon trash bags on the day Krista disappeared, and states that GPS records from the Syphers’ Chevy Cruze indicated the car had stopped at or near area public dumpsters in the subsequent days.

While reviewing surveillance video of a waste transfer facility processing Plover’s garbage, police saw a “long black plastic bag consistent with the size of a human body” falling from a garbage truck, the complaint states.

Plover husband, 44, to stand trial in wife's death in "circumstantial case"

From the article ...

Calling it a "circumstantial case," a judge Monday ordered a 44-year-old Plover man to stand trial in his wife's death 18 months ago.

For more than an hour Monday, a detective laid out the case against the husband, with Sypher's attorney arguing the only probable cause being the woman's disappearance as there is no physical evidence of her death, including any blood.

Also, for Niner ...

Portage County Circuit Judge Thomas Eagon set Oct. 8 for Sypher to enter pleas to the charges.

It took awhile but I’m extremely happy this is moving forward. For everyone who thinks it’s “normal” that he waited a week to go to police... I think that is so absurd and actually a little disturbing. If my SO didn’t come home and didn’t pick up the phone it would be 24 hours tops and I would be pleading to disregard the 48-72 hour wait period. Period.
