4:45 p.m. – Defense Questions Detective

The defense began their turn at questioning Detective Correa by asking about Anderson’s cell phone data he had just testified to — working to poke holes at whether or not cell towers really show an accurate picture of where a person is located at any given time.

Anderson’s defense attorney also brought up the fact that just because Anderson may have searched about when home improvement stores open, doesn’t mean that detectives know why he was searching for that information.

Those ole home improvement stores have always been popular when getting a kill/ cleanup kit together and remodeling the bathroom to boot.

Trial resumes 9:00 am CT tomorrow.
Yup wrapped for the day and more chilled today as well, see what the morning brings us. The chicken and I are going to go snoop around the tree farm tonight, see what we can dig up.

I’m still surprised at the testimony about the unregistered firearm and the daughter being threatened by it. We know she didn’t say “by her dad” or anything like that, but I still am trying to understand- even if instructed - how one could essentially unhear that and not consider it as any part of their later thinking and decision making.

I thought the Defense would’ve Motioned for a mistrial, and even today when the State accidentally mentioned a “cadaver dog” and a “hit” which I think makes most think or assume a “hit” is some sort of detection…..a detection of a dead body/dead animal/etc.

I also don’t know how they could just unhear that, even subconsciously it seems like it would remain in your thoughts at some level. JMOO.

I agree, this defense team is odd. It's like they fight like crazy over little stuff and overlook big stuff.

The defense cracked the door enough when during cross exam the weapon was brought up and the daughter ran with it. It became a taboo subject but can't undo what goes in the jurors ears and minds. The seed was planted for theories, dad pose as a threat to her in the past?. Strong for the state and AZ's actions before and after facts leaves defense in the hole. All are watching for more hand jive memes and another mistrial dance lol.

Judge Bruce Schroeder is presiding over AZ trial, who also presided over the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse and 2008 trial of Mark Jensen.

First time watching this judge as I watched neither trial noted.

TRIAL HIGHLIGHTS

DAY 12 – 3/16/23

  • Anderson appears to have purchased two tracking devices.
  • Anderson appears to have been in the vicinity of Gutierrez’s home on May 13, 2020.
  • Det. Correa walked through the scene, investigated a landfill, interviewed Anderson.

Guess the neighbor was snoozing and didn't hear nothing, so kinda fizzled out. See what witness JZ has for us.
