DNA Solves

So whose DNA was it if Gouker drove only his former employer to the farmhouse? Who is Gouker protecting if it wasn't his former employer?

Gouker never said his employer was the only one he took with him!!!!!!!

He may've had no involvement at all

Sadly sometimes, inmates especially long term, or lifers , will say stuff like that just to try to garner some type of favor from the state.

Gouker's mother moved back to Oklahoma in 1999 she still resides there. His half sister (who was the last to move back) moved to Oklahoma in April 2001.

So whose DNA was it if Gouker drove only his former employer to the farmhouse? Who is Gouker protecting if it wasn't his former employer?

Gouker never said his employer was the only one he took with him!!!!!!!
So let's have a description of this third person. Is he young? Old? Caucasian? What's his approximate age? Did Gouker know him? Did he work at B Bar 10, too? Where did Gouker pick him/them up at? Was he an acquaintance of Laine R. Shields? A close friend? A stranger they picked up in a bar? Did they kill before as a group? Was Gouker paid to drive them to Togstad's house? Why did he wait outside? What was the conversation about on the way to Togstad's farmhouse? Whose idea was it to drive to the farmhouse at bar time? Was it planned or a spur of the moment thing? Was this a personal thing for Shields or for the third person? Which one hated Togstad and why? Did she spurn his/their advances at the bar or at B Bar 10? Which one damaged Togstad's gravestone, not once, but twice? Was Togstad or Mumbrue ever a customer at B Bar 10?

Are you saying that law enforcement is withholding all this crucial information about these serial killers from the public and leaving us swinging in the wind in order to catch the third person whom we know nothing about other than his DNA was left at the scene? And that's going to help us identify him? That's crazy. It doesn't even make sense.

"Yeah, we have his DNA. Help us find him. Umm, by the way, we aren't releasing any other information about him that might help you to help us get him. You have to guess. There's another serial killer out there living in our community but we won't give out absolutely any information about him or a description of what he looks like, based on Gouker's description of him, to help catch him."

Yep, that makes sense.

I don't think this was their first rodeo, either. These serial killers have killed before and have or will kill again. There's a third serial killer on the loose in the Waupaca area and it will be only a matter of time before he strikes again. God help us all if it's Michael R. Larsen, the suspect in Janet Raasch's murder.

Here, Goukers wife/sister Michele had just lured the victim's girlfriend back to where Gouker had greviously wounded the victim and then watched as Gouker raped the girlfriend on the spot and later guarded the girlfriend while tied to the bed.
<modsnip>
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/okemah-ok/TGBASKN30HGO9PPMP

I am starting this by saying I know more about the Gouker case than anybody would ever want to. Michele was there and she did watch the girl but she had no part in luring here to the shed! She didn't not know what Glendon had done until after he had already killed Ethan. There is no excuse for what her part was but in the reality of life she is one of Glendon's biggest victims. He started grooming her and molesting her from a very early age.
http://www.truecrimereport.com/2010/09/glendon_michele_gouker_kill_te.php

At some point, Glendon's sister, 29-year-old Michele Gouker, approached the car asking the woman to come to a shed out back. Michele wanted her to be "a witness," the woman would later say. She assumed she had to witness the signing of some paperwork.

They killed Ethan and raped his girlfriend in front of their little children. They were blown out of their minds on meth.

And Glendon and Michele lived together and had kids and nobody in the family noticed for how many years? Michele Gouker has a cell phone in her hand on her facebook page taking a smiling selfie of herself, looking real "traumatized." I wonder why she didn't use it to call 911, ever?

He may've had no involvement at all

Sadly sometimes, inmates especially long term, or lifers , will say stuff like that just to try to garner some type of favor from the state.

That's exactly what happened. He (Gouker) implicated himself and his former employer, not once, but twice. His mother was manager at the B Bar 10. Was he talking about the manager or the owner when he said he was paid to rape that girl in Iola and that he was only doing his job?

http:///blog/2010/09/prosecutors-seek-death-penalty-in-oklahoma-murder-case/

And then there's the murder and rape at Flying G Firewood, Prague, Pottawatomie County, OK in 2010, where the whole family worked. Nobody once asked in all those years, "Gee, why are there blood stains in the wood chipper?" "Where did those bloodstains come from on the floors?" "Why is there methamphetamine all over the place?" "Why are those barrels leaking blood?" "I wonder why Glendon is burying all those barrels on the property?" "I wonder why the Mexican drug cartels are bringing methamphetamine into Pottawatomie County?" "Gee, our county just had a major meth bust in 2012, right after Glendon was arrested, I wonder if there's a connection?" "Kids, stop playing in that puddle of blood until mommy and daddy get it cleaned up."

Okay - that's a little creepy with the middle name being Marie for all of them. Just a weird coincidence or is there more to it????

Okay - that's a little creepy with the middle name being Marie for all of them. Just a weird coincidence or is there more to it????

Other than Stephanie Marie Casberg from Milwaukee (found dead in Racine County, WI), I can't find even one cold case missing/murder victim anywhere else in Wisconsin, with the middle name of Marie, outside of a cluster of several counties adjoining each other. What are the odds? I could be wrong, though. Marie is a popular middle name. If you find any, let me know.

15 Aug 1975 Bonnie Marie Repinski (nee Newby) goes missing in the Town of Menasha after a fight with her estranged husband, David R. Repinski, regarding an upcoming divorce. She was living with her sister in the Town of Menasha.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h337/tangledweb55/4c31416f-1a01-4b7a-8f0e-77ad0d76141e.jpg

Laine R. Shields, David Repinski's brother, was questioned about that disappearance by police when a warrant was served at the B Bar 10 in 2013; this according to Laine R. Shields himself in news interviews in 2013.

17 Dec 1975 Marvin G. Vande Hey, of Route 4, Town of Buchanan area, calls his wife from Fond du Lac, WI at 2:30 am.

30 Dec 1975 Marvin G. Vande Hey's wife reports him "missing". (2 weeks later!) She states he quit his job, took all his clothes & took all their money out of the bank. She said he was depressed and under medical treatment.

30 Jan 1978, (Monday) 26 year old Peter Galowski convicted in Stevens Point, WI, of a double murder on July 29, 1977, of Francine Flowerette and David Dethardt using a .38 caliber pistol he said he bought in June from Hunter's Corner. (Francine was also pregnant)

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h337/tangledweb55/galowski.jpg

31 Jan 1978 (Tuesday) Marvin G. Vande Hey was found dead in his running vehicle on Sunset Lake Road, New Hope, WI, just four miles (a 48 minute walk) north of the B Bar 10, of what appeared to be a suicide. A .38 cal. pistol was found on the seat next to his body. This was three years after he left his wife in Appleton, WI! And then turning up dead several miles from Laine R. Shields' home/business the day after a double murder conviction involving a weapon allegedly belonging to Laine R. Shields and right before Vande Hey was to testify in a grand jury investigation also involving Laine R. Shields.

24 Feb 1978 Laine Richard Shields, age 34, aka Lloyd R. Repinski, Jr. indicted by federal grand jury on firearms charges. Accused of making false statements to acquire a firearm in 1976 from a Stevens Point gun store. Shields said he had no felony record when he bought a .38 caliber revolver from a Stevens Point store in 1976, when in fact, he had been convicted of aggravated battery. Article does not specify exactly when in 1976 the false statements were made. source: Wisconsin State Journal page 4

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h337/tangledweb55/shieldsakarepinski_zps688341be.jpg

Vande Hey was rumored to be either going to testify in the Galowski trial or in the federal grand jury investigation involving Laine. R. Shields (which may have arose out of the Galowski investigation), who was being investigated and was indicted February 24, 1978.

(Laine R. Shields allegedly claimed to have been subpoenaed to a grand jury investigation stemming from this murder supposedly because the gun used in the crime was registered to him)

Even though it was David Repinski who had left his wife on Highway 41 in the middle of the night after a fight over an upcoming divorce (and was the last one to see her alive), it was Laine R. Shields who had stated in news interviews in 2013 that he was a person of interest in that disappearance. This was after he was cautioned not to say anything by law emforcement about the warrants. Go figure.

So where was Marvin Vande Hey for three years between his "disappearance" in Dec 1975, which wasn't reported by his wife for two weeks, and his "suicide" in Jan 1978? What was he doing in all that time? Was it really a suicide or was he another murder victim? Was the bullet from that gun ever tested to see if it matched the bullets from the Galowski murders? What were his ties to Laine R. Shields? Was it just coincidental he was found 57 miles away in New Hope, WI from where he "disappeared" in Appleton, WI three years earlier. And it was within walking distance of the B Bar 10, Amherst, WI?

Bonnie's cold case can be reviewed here (in the second column)

It's tied in to Bonnie Repinski's cold case. Interesting note in the disappearance of Bonnie Marie Repinski; she "disappeared" on Hwy 41 in the Town of Menasha several miles south of the Paradise Club, also on Hwy 41, an Appleton, WI strip joint. Two "exotic dancers" who danced at that club were Francine Flowerette and David Dethardt, the two people who Peter Galowski was convicted of killing! Their performer names were Fancy Clancy and Mr. Nitro. They even performed in Sheboygan, WI, two blocks from David Repinski's bar.

(Note who the former owner of the Paradise Club was. Stranen. Records show that was Bonnie Repinski's stepfather, John Stranen. Bonnie's mother at the time of marriage was listed as Mrs. John Stranen)

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h337/tangledweb55/clancynitrosheboygan-1.jpg

Another "mere" coincidence is that the Paradise Club is the same place where Iola Police Chief Michael Schertz, (reputed friend of Laine R. Shields) said he sold the Beretta pistol that he illegally obtained from an Iola bar owner (and stole from a police storage locker) to a biker. The same kind of pistol that was used to kill Deputy Gerald Mork, son of the Waupaca County Sheriff. (The same county Togstad and Mumbrue were found murdered, as you already know.

The Vande Hey Route 4 address is in the Town of Buchanan area, a few miles north of Willow Road, where Dawn Marie Schnetzer was found in 4 Nov 1978. Vande Hey also once lived at 854 1/2 Third St. Menasha in 1969, 6 blocks from where Dawn was dropped off before she went missing. Is there a connection to this case even though Vande Hey died in January?

It's interesting that tragic events happen in clusters on the timeline. If we fast forward people involved in events in the 1970's to events in the 2000's and put them on a timeline, we get:

Jan 2006 Peter Galowski released from prison.
GREEN BAY -- Nearly 22,000 adults are serving prison terms in Wisconsin. Peter Galowski of Prince of Peace Parish in Green Bay was once among them. He was released in January 2006, after more than 28 years of incarceration following a double homicide conviction.

Was Connie J. Boelter, a victim of an unsolved murder in Appleton, WI, related to Vernon A. Boelter? They certainly lived in the same town at one time. I'm showing the below articles to show that certain people are linked together by criminal activities.

I'm also showing where an unsolved murder happens in close proximity to a criminal investigation (note the Vande Hey death above)

Now let's say a check was bounced by one of the victims of a double homicide (shortly before those homicides) at a business run by a POI, could one safely say a pattern is emerging where certain events set a person off and cause them to kill or have some one killed? I'm not talking one instance, I'm talking three instances involving four deaths where the POI is linked to the victims in some way. When you get clusters of tragic events involving the same people one has to wonder if they are just coincidences or something more. Especially if there are other murders linked to the same people.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice is preparing to start controversial familial DNA tests in hopes of generating more leads for local police.

http://www.channel3000.com/news/doj-preparing-for-familial-dna-testing/25874788

a hit would enable police to identify the unknown suspect's relatives.

That should be interesting. I personally think that DNA should also be taken from everyone at death (do dead people have civil rights?) and tested against databases so that many cases could be closed that otherwise would linger on for eternity. This would also save $$$ in futile leads.

Now if they could just find the 10,000+ people in Wisconsin arrested for various crimes over the years who are still alive and who were supposed to give DNA, but didn't...

Believe me, I know how Inane this will sound, But.... I wonder if Mumbrue's DNA was ever even compared to that found on Tanna. Seems obvious it should have, they could have been intimate before the attacks, but maybe not. I will say,I am Unsure by all that I have read, if there was additional evidence of Rape as well (Or solely the DNA/Glendons confession) This would mean that Glendons confession (minus the rape) might be based in truth.

Forgive me for the simplistic nature of this theory, but I know how small town WI Sheriff's Depts. Operated throughout the mid-late 90's.

Forgive me for the simplistic nature of this theory, but I know how small town WI Sheriff's Depts. Operated throughout the mid-late 90's.

It's possible, but, even if they didn't do it then, they almost certainly did it later on in the investigation. I don't believe information on the fact that she was even raped was released until much later in the investigation. Exactly when that later on was, I don't know.

Glendon's confession must have been pretty plausible to authorities for them to have searched Shield's property twice based on that information.

Since we do know that there was a third unknown person present at the double murder, and we do know that third unknown person for sure committed rape and we do know that person is still at large (probably in the community), and we do know that Glendon Gouker drove that unknown person and Shields to the farmhouse (based on his confession), then how come that person's description has never been released to the public? How come no one ever bothers to ask?

Are we to believe that Glendon Gouker drove the third person to the farmhouse and didn't even get a good look at him? Maybe the description matches the suspect in the Janet Raasch murder? After all, all three live/lived in the same area. (Interestingly, the suspect in Janet Raasch's murder also lived in Hancock, WI, at one time, as did a brother (the one whose wife disappeared in 1975) of the owner of the B Bar 10. (Hancock is not too far from the scenes of two other cold case unsolved murders, Dorothy Raczkowski & Lolita C. Dion)

How could Gouker have described hidden rooms and tunnels at the B Bar 10 (as outlined on the search warrants) to the authorities and then they found none? Did he describe something he actually saw or something that Shields told him about?

And then we find that there was a feud/argument/dispute between Shields and a neighbor (who was a contractor) (in fact Shield's ex-wife (the president of B Bar 10, Laine R. Shields is vice-president according to online records) had a civil suit with that person according to WCCA). What was that all about?

1) A house that was on B Bar 10 property burnt down in August 1976 (about a year after Bonnie Repinski disappeared in August 1975) (the cause of the fire was never released and it's unknown if the former tenant was ever located/identified even though her? belongings were still in the house. (I usually take my belonging with me when I move. Why did he even bring up that point?)

2) that house was on property and was later sold and now has a restaurant on it,

3) the area where the house was located became a parking lot,

4) the parking lot started caving in/sinking about 10 years ago and was repaved. By what contractor?

Was that property ever searched in conjunction with the B Bar 10 property search warrants? Could there be concealed access points on that property and not on B Bar 10 property? Could those tunnels, hidden rooms, etc. be located on that former B Bar 10 property? Why would that parking lot even cave in/sink?

I think there's enough possibility there to consider something is down there. GPR unit, cadaver dog...

In addition, detectives have revealed that Togstad was sexually assaulted before she was killed.

"It was something only the murderer would have known," said Sgt. Don Conat, a detective with the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department. "It was before DNA technology made it possible to identify people."

Now, with DNA samples in hand, authorities are confident they will catch their man.

"We are looking for information about anybody who may have had a relationship with Tanna," Conat said.

Authorities strongly believe the murderer knew Togstad.

"There is no doubt that he was fixated on her," Conat said.

That explains it...

I also recall a body part of a woman was discovered at a rest stop on Highway 10 near Amherst, Wisconsin some years ago in Portage County. I don't recall the year. It was identified as a woman's vertebra? Considering the close proximity to Amherst and Weyauwega, it might warrant further investigation.

I found the answer to my question in 101 Wisconsin Unsolved Mysteries by Marv Balousek.

A human pelvic bone and vertebrae were found in May 1998 near a Highway 10 wayside at Amherst, WI.

The owner of Bar B 10 also said in one of his 2013 news interviews that he had bailed Gouker out of jail when he was arrested in the first rape.

One would wonder, "Which first rape?" The arrest for the 1990 Iola rape was in Feb, 2013, 23 years later! But, according to news stories, the judge denied bond. So we know it wasn't that one.

15 Aug 2013 Statements by Waupaca County Sheriff Brad Hardel Authorities expressed optimism that DNA will help solve the killings of Togstad and Mumbrue.

“We’re now looking to the community for tips to help us identify a match to the DNA left at the crime scene.”

Neither Hardel nor the Department of Justice elaborated on how Gouker was linked to the homicides in the Weyauwega area.

But they think there are people in the Waupaca area with information about the deaths of Mumbrue and Togstad who could help the investigation.

That "first rape" was the girl in Iola, Wisconsin. Gouker was working for the owner of the B Bar 10 Western Clothing Store at the time. The owner had bailed Gouker out of jail some time after Gouker's arrest.

One could wonder why an employer would even bail an employee out of jail for a rape. Then, years later, after Gouker's DNA implicated him in the rape, Gouker turns around and implicates his former employer by stating that his employer drove around with Gouker and pointed out the girl to him and told him to rape her. Hence, the comment by Gouker to the victim at the time, "I'm only doing my job."

Gouker also implicated his former employer in the murder of Togstad and Mumbrue. Gouker said he drove his former employer to the farmhouse. Then, Gouker stated, he waited in the vehicle while the former employer went inside and raped Togstad and then killed both Togstad, Mumbrue and Togstad's dog.

Does anyone buy this? A serial rapist and murderer waiting in a vehicle while his employer and an unidentified accomplice go inside to rape and kill? Also, Togstad allegedly had bounced a check at the B Bar 10 shortly before she was murdered. Could she have been raped and murdered simply over a bounced check?

DNA on the female victim implicates a third person in the rape and murders.

What I can't understand is why authorities haven't released a description of that third person. After all, Gouker obviously must have seen this third person when he drove him and his employer to the farmhouse. Why is this description being kept secret from the public? A serial murderer is running around loose in Wisconsin and we don't even know what he looks like.

Does anyone have a logical explanation as to why a description of a murder suspect is being withheld from the public?

“We’re now looking to the community for tips to help us identify a match to the DNA left at the crime scene.”

How do we do that when we don't even know what he looks like?

I've heard from a reputable source that the 3rd person was a "red haired guy" in his mid 30s.

Also, I've heard that Tanna turned down Laine's advances.. maybe he wanted "payment" via another method after the check bounced?

Maybe that red-headed "loose end" ended up in a blue tarpaulin which might explain why he can't be found?

One has to wonder what pressures and events in one's life can set them off periodically and cause them to explode. An excerpt from my revised timeline...

The FBI profiled the Connie Boelter killer... You could probably identify several more, from the list, to the suspect?

In an effort to assist the community in identifying the person responsible, the following are certain behavioral patterns and personality traits which the suspect has probably exhibited.

1. Change in eating and sleeping habits
2. Failure to report to work or other scheduled events
3. Socially withdrawn from normal activities
4. Unexplained anxiousness, nervousness or agitation
5. General appearance of being preoccupied
6. Increased or decreased use of alcohol or drugs
7. Problems in relationships
8. Preoccupation, unexplained, or unexpected attitude or interest in details of this investigation

I have reasons to believe that many of these unsolved murders and disappearances in central, north central and east central Wisconsin since the 1960's are related to each other by one or more serial killers.

The 20 victims, mostly women, went missing from or were found dead within an approximate 50-60 mile radius centering on Amherst, Wisconsin. The deaths range from Strongs Prairie, WI in the west to Green Bay, WI in the east. Note that they are clustered around the Wisconsin Rapids area, the Amherst/Plover area, the Shawano area, the Menasha area and one in the Sheboygan area.

I listed that one because a brother of one of the suspects lives there. I listed the Josts because a nephew of one of the suspects lives several miles from Wonder Lake, IL and the suspect lives just down the road from where the Josts disappeared. A wife of one of the suspects lived at 273 Christy ST #24, Amherst, WI, right across the road from another suspect in some of the other disappearances/murders. There's no known connection between those two other than their family members are connected to Churney Cheese and Ore-Ida by employment. Victims from the list worked at both places. Three victims are Native American.

Over half the victims have the same first or middle name. Many of the victims disappeared, were killed or found dead in November. Two of the victims worked in Hortonville, WI. I listed the rest because one or more suspects lived in the vicinity of the crime. For instance, the suspect in the Janet Raasch murder once lived in Hancock, WI on Buttercup Ave, a short distance from where Dorothy Raczkowski was killed in Strongs Prairie, WI. A brother of another suspect also lived in Hancock, WI. The suspect's wife worked at the same place Dorothy worked. Since I'm not privy to their work records, I can't say they worked together at the same time or what the connection is other than what I mentioned. A member of the family of the Raasch murder also was employed at Dorothy's place of employment.

This map is printable. Feel free to copy and distribute it. The more people that become aware, the more potential of these crimes being solved.

If you recognize any of the names and know where they worked, please post it here, as several of these victims are connected to some suspects through their place of employment or lived in the vicinity of the unsolved disappearances or murders. If you know where they formerly resided, post it here. I'll add that information to the map and list.

All sources for information from this list and map can be found on and compiled from the internet.

I lived several hundred yards from where Bonnie Repinski was thought to have disappeared in 1975. (41 and Winchester Rd aka old 150) I did not know her or who she was staying with, but I believe it was in the neighborhood across the street from Spring Road Elementary. It was a very quiet area. There wasn't much in the media about her disappearance. It was pretty much considered a domestic and us locals either assumed she never got off at Winchester or something happened in the house. Nobody thought it was a stranger abduction. We didn't lock our doors or anything in response. It's sad that there isn't even a picture of her.

Someone has worked very hard to put all these newspaper articles together. I can't even imagine following all the other cases. (I moved from WI in 1981)
