“A 30-year-old Toronto woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the separate deaths of three people in Toronto, Niagara Falls and Hamilton, according to the Toronto police.

Niagara Regional Police and Hamilton Police Service said in a news release the victims are: an unidentified woman believed to be in her 60s in Toronto; Lance Cunningham, 47, in Niagara Falls; and, Mario Bilich, 77, in Hamilton.

Sabrina Kauldhar has been charged with second-degree murder in the Toronto death, second-degree murder in the Niagara Falls death and first-degree murder in the Hamilton death.”

The suspect, 30-year-old Sabrina Kauldhar,
“I think by definition she is a serial killer. By definition I think that is a fair comment,” Niagara Regional Police Service Chief Bill Fordy said during a Friday afternoon press conference. “It’s always difficult speculate on what somebody would do. What I can say is that I am very pleased that we were able to bring this to closure in a quick manner. We have three families here that have lost their loved ones and I think when we have somebody who has committed three offences in a real tight timeline like that there is the risk of them committing further offences.”

''In addition, detectives are also attempting to identify a female who was observed on security footage on Tuesday at the Giant Tiger at 2025 Guelph Line in Burlington buying clothing that Kauldhar had in her possession at the time of her arrest.'
“We’re trying to identify the other female to ensure her safety and confirm what role — if any — she may have played,” Fordy said, adding that when Kauldhar was arrested she was wearing the clothes the mystery woman purchased at a Burlington Giant Tiger.''

Case #: 2024-2151556
Published: Friday, October 4, 2024, 2:25 PM
Niagara Regional Police Service have arrested a female believed to be involved in homicides in Toronto, Niagara and Hamilton.
On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:08 p.m., police responded to a call for service in the Keele Street and Dundas Street West area.
It is reported that:
  • a woman was located deceased inside a residence
  • the woman had trauma to her body
The woman is believed to be in her 60's and has yet to be identified.
See previous release.
On October 2, 2024, at 2:49 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to John Allan Park in the City of Niagara Falls for a report of a disturbance. When officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) arrived on scene they found an adult male suffering from critical injuries. Despite medical intervention efforts by Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Falls Fire Service, 47-year-old Lance Cunningham was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On October 3, 2024, at approximately 12:26 p.m., Hamilton Police Service received a 911 call requesting an ambulance to the parking lot of 209 MacNab Street North, where an unresponsive male was found with significant injuries consistent with a stabbing. Police and Hamilton Paramedics responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators were able to link the homicide to the recent murder of 47-year-old Lance Cunningham in John Allen Park in Niagara Falls, determining the suspect matched the description in both cases. An additional link was made to the active homicide investigation from October 1 in Toronto.

Sabrina Kauldhar, 30, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged by the Toronto Police Service with:
Second Degree Murder
She has also been charged with First Degree Murder in the Hamilton homicide and Second Degree Murder in the Niagara homicide.

She is currently being held in custody by the Niagara Regional Police Service. She was scheduled to appear virtually at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 102.

This remains an ongoing investigation by Homicide detectives; as they continue to determine the timeline of events.
Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators via the dedicated hotline at (289) 248-1058, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com. ''

Spree killer. Not serial. But I doubt anyone at the DM knows or cares about the distinction.

To be fair it's what the police said

"I think by definition she is a serial killer. By definition I think that is a fair comment,” Niagara Regional Police Service Chief Bill Fordy said during a Friday afternoon press conference. “

But, thank goodness,
we have you to correct MSM mistakes ;)
You have the most polite way of calling me a pedant. :p

(I am one. It's baked in, so I'm owning it.)

But yeah, she's a spree killer. No cool down period. She's got more in common with mass shooters and family annihilators, like that. With spree killers of all stripes, you might get victims in multiple locations, some with a connection to the killer, some just unfortunately unlucky strangers, but you don't see that cool down and build up cycle that you do with a typical serial offender. Every refractory period is unique to each individual serial killer and their circumstances, but generally, there'll be times they lie low before working themselves up to kill again. No cool down with this woman.

I guess
this "spree killer" is subgroup of "serial killer".
So...
both DM and Police were right calling her as they called her.

'Social media discussions, along with labels in news reports, show confusion over whether to call this shooter a serial killer, mass murderer or spree killer. It will depend to some extent on whether these four incidents are the only ones linked to him, but the confusion rests partly on shifts in law enforcement concepts.''

''During a symposium in 2005, the FBI dropped the classification of “spree killer,” because law enforcement officers thought it had no practical value. The agency published its decision in 2008 here: https://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/serial-murder

“The validity of spree murder as a separate category was discussed at great length. The general definition of spree murder is two or more murders committed by an offender or offenders, without a cooling-off period. According to the definition, the lack of a cooling-off period marks the difference between a spree murder and a serial murder. Central to the discussion was the definitional problems relating to the concept of a cooling-off period. Because it creates arbitrary guidelines, the confusion surrounding this concept led the majority of attendees to advocate disregarding the use of spree murder as a separate category. The designation does not provide any real benefit for use by law enforcement.”

Paywalled.

Fair enough! Didn't know it had been relegated to the history books.

Still think she's probably got more in common with those who commit several murders in a short period in a fairly public way than, say, someone like Dahmer. She doesn't seem to have really hidden anything. All her victims were found very quickly and linked to her.

This part is troubling. Unless it’s an accomplice?

What is she wearing on her head?
Has it got a pom-pom?

Sadly I suspect serious psychological issues.
