Wholeheartedly agree with this. Even if the six are kept together, telling them that mommy had to give their 8 little brothers and sisters to other parents can easily have very negative and long-lasting consequences, e.g., will I be next?

The two older ones might understand (and I think even be relieved! lol) but the toddlers won't. I also think the octuplets deserve to know their siblings.

It's just sad and aggravating that Nadya doesn't appear to be willing to take the offer of the Angels group. I can think of several reasons why, all fitting with our impression of her, and none respectable or conducive to the best interests of the children.

There was a news video clip when asked if she would take the offer from Angels in waiting, Nadya, simply replied, "They just want free publicity". HUH??? WHat is SHE looking for? FRee handouts.

I'm not sure how great and beneficial it is for the kids to all grow up together. I know lots of families of seven or eight, and they're all really close. But I also know someone who's one of eighteen. (He grew up in Columbia.) He's sort of a hustler and a grifter, which I put down to his deprived upbringing. I don't think he's talked to some of his brothers and sisters for years. I get the impression if one called, it would be because they were looking for something--and vice versa. The dynamics of a big family and a REALLY big family aren't necessarily the same--especially when there's not enough to go around.

This entire case bothers me to the core of my being.

I realize not every child can have a "perfect" upbringing with both biological parents (not step parents) raising them, dad comes home, mom has dinner ready, kids are finished homework and they play board games... You catch my drift I'm sure.

My BUTT in this - But children deserve the essentials. They deserve food, clothing, PERMANENT shelter, education & most of all love & security. I cannot see this woman able to provide any of the above with the small exception of giving her kids hugs (I assume so they'll hug her back...).

Recalling her REASON for having kids in the first place was so that SHE would get things from her children that SHE MISSED in her own childhood. Such a disgusting reason to have kids.

Children need all the things to have a healthy environment. There are too many children in either neglectful or abusive environments, I think this case may be a catalyst to more changes in our system. This woman demonstrates seemingly on a daily basis how inept she truly is to raise even 1 child. Never mind all 14 under the age of 8. Poor babes. :frown:

In mentioning beds and dressers....I was trying to say that if CPS is called in TN with the sole complaint being over crowding of the family home, the state cannot remove the children because of lack of space if they have their own bed and a separte place to store their clothing and some personal items. I certainly understand that there are multiple issuse regaurding this family. My statement was only meant to address the physical over crowding of the home.

Oh Kat, you have been there and done that. You alone know how serious the outlook is for these 8 infants.
By the way, can you share the outcome on your son since you and your hubby worked so hard to establish a healthy life for him? I hope it all went well.

KAt is absolutely correct about the ongoing and overwhelming responsibilty that caring for a preemie after their hospital release means to most caring parents. Its a tremendous burden for a couple with one preemie and depending on the amount of prematurity and the hurdles those babies encounter in the hospital and long term.. its way more than this woman can handle. My darling little neice was born at 23 weeks.. and while she gives such joy and love the amount of work and care she has required to date is huge.. just doing normal things become much more complicated and challanging because of the long term effects that are from all the surgeries, the therapies, the physical and other limiations she has.. in additon to the monitors etc these babies if they are like my neice will not be able to be in a normal daycare they will require home care due to their immature immune systems. SO even that will not work.. and what daycare can you afford for 8 preemies and 6 older children some with their own challanges..? This woman is so unstable and frankly dangerous to her children.. loving kids and wanting to take care of them doesnt put food on the table, provide the care they need, the specialists and therapists, pay for insurance and meds, a house etc.. especially as she is unemployeed years from a degree and a steady stable job, provide for daycare, a car large enough to take them to daycare, to put gas in the car each day etc. the list can go on forever. She is in no way able t provide for her current children except in her own selfish mind and not with her feet on the ground thinking about what is most important for her kids and putting them first.. instead she is doing interviews, and pampering herself instead of buyng pampers with the money she has recieved to date..
