I keep checking for new news and not finding much. It appears to be such a small little community almost solely surrounded by the river, she could have made it to the river in any direction.

Still praying for a miracle.

Finally talked with my hubby's sister..Her daughter works for the sheriffs dept.I thought she might have more information..She says they are not releasing anything more at this time..Just that she is missing, what she was wearing(per the family) there is an alert out..They have search crews out all over town,as well as in the river..They also have divers in the river...They also have not had enormous amount of rain,so the river should be clear enough to see her if she is in the water!!

:nono: Please don't go...you did us all a favor..some of us didn't even know about this rule so you've done a great service for us. We all want more information and we are all :waitasec: at what could be behind the lack of information. You heart was in the right place Kelly and there is no need for apologies.

Thanks Momtective and everyone for your kindness. I read here almost daily but don't have the time to follow cases as much as I would like. I feel like I know all of you because I see your names so often. I forget you have no clue that I'm even here! LOL

Anyway, my concern is the police aren't releasing anything because they already know there is no point. I hate to say that. I don't mean it to sound harsh. I just wonder if they already know what happened and are waiting to arrest the person/s responsible.

If that is what is happening, I hope they are right because we have all seen cases--very recently in fact--that turned out differently than we would have expected.

I didn't mean to take the focus off Aliayah.

Maybe I need to go back to lurking where I can't do any more harm. :-)

The main thing is I hope she is safe somewhere and comes home soon.

Love & prayers to all those here who work so hard trying to help others.

Kelly.

No, don't go  i was a little confused about the "rulez" too in the beginning (still am sometimes!) We're all in this together! :)

Bendale Church, next to the armory, did have food and drink for the searchers. All other churches are bringing donations and other people too. The divers are beneath the bridge I mentioned earlier. they did add a guardrail to the bridge at some point.

Of course, the rumors are flying: Mom had Aliayah while in prison. They didn't stir until 11:00 yesterday which is why it was so late when they reported it. They party until late and don't get up until late. Not very sociable. Aliayah had a fever and was sick. They suspect the stepdad harmed her. They were too drunk to do a polygraph on last night. Mom is 36 weeks pregnant with twins and was drunk last night. No one knows if Aliayah was missing for longer, they hadn't seen her in a while.

I do know that if a child wandered off in that neighborhood, the dogs would have barked and someone would have noticed her. If she made it to the highway, someone could have taken her. People are expanding their searches, most saying that they are not looking at how far off a 3-year-old can wander, but where someone could take her. The family is calmly standing around the yard talking to people milling around. I think if she is anywhere in that neighborhood, she would have been found by now. Every inch has been searched. I also worry about the neighbors saying they were not sociable at all, makes me worry about isolation and abuse.

I'm thinking LE most likely isn't buying "the baby took a walk away from the house at 6:30am" but yet they are searching the river. Why?
Information that was available online yesterday (stuff we shouldn't have been looking for anyway) is no longer online. Why?
Very minimal, very basic information has been released. Why?
Scanner for Lewis Co. went down immediately after this story broke and hasn't been back up. Why?
There has jut got to be more to this imo.

Thank you for getting out there today. I am at a loss for words which is rather unusual.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot - what are these people thinking. Better stated in that they are not thinking.

Perhaps that's why we've not heard anything from or about the mother (family) sigh. If they're as you describe, i doubt they would want to talk to reporters. Thanks for so much info.

I hope it's not true, but suspect it is, 2 more children on the way? Seriously? That's 7!! And she already has a 9/10 month old AFAIK.

Not sure what's going on in that house, but it looks like an intervention is well over-due.

It now makes sense why no one in the family is talking. An Aunt mentioned something on FB, but didn't post a piccie. I noticed her and one of the daughters had the same profile picture taken in the same room (for those that are looking). The same poster is in the background of what appears to be a very dilapitated home (not saying this is the same home Aliyah lived in).

Exactly.

They may be searching the river just to be sure or they may have reason to believe she was disposed of there. Hate to say that, but it is the unfortunate reality of most these cases. If she had just wandered away she would have been found a long time ago, unless she did go into the river.

I believe we will know something soon but I don't think it will be good news. That said.... I do believe in miracles and although I've said some very negative things I refuse to give up hope until we have an answer.

This is not sounding good at all. My prayers go out for Little Aliayah!

I so agree with you..They know more than has been released..When we visited there.we would sit out on the porch often.People are very friendly, and would stop and talk to us..If this child wandered away in the early morning hours, someone would have seen her..They all have porches on the front of their house, and look out for each other..The dogs would have gone wild, people would have investigated..Something is just not right with the whole picture!!!

I wouldn't give much weight to the rumors. WV is notorious for not trusting strangers. It is very difficult for a new family to move into a neighborhood and get accepted. I sure wish they would release the parents names. It would make it easier to dig up the truth and keep rumors at bay.

Yup, we've looked at the same pics and made the same assessments, right down to the walls and door frames. Guess that's just how we WS roll...analyze, analyze, analyze. The problem here is we just don't have that much to actually analyze. I wish we knew more about the boyfriend, come on media, give us some names.

looking at the same page some of you have looked at, it appears that the family was following the Casey Anthony story.....this girl "liked" the CA stay out of West Virginia page.

You are so right about ignoring rumors. The mom's name is easily found if you research Aliayah's name on Google. Not sure about the dad. Maybe someone more adept than I at finding things on the internet can assist you. I have only been able to locate mom, her sister and one other relative online.

Not meaning to be OT but I remember being told years ago that people from WV consider themselves to be far superior to the rest of us in the south. Not meaning to be offensive so just take it with a grain of salt or whatever. They are tight knit and are cautious of outsiders. If you think about it, that may not be a bad thing these days.
